Sept 27 (Reuters) - Outgoing U.S. Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Mark Milley said on Wednesday he would take measures to protect his family after former President Donald Trump suggested he had colluded with China in an act he said would have once warranted death.

Correct me if I'm wrong military folks, but isn't he technically the highest ranking Military officer?  Someone that high up in the military wants to protect himself from the minions of an ex-President.   And is probably correct in feeling that way.  Astounding.

Was talking to the in-laws last night about going to the Michigan game next year and how we would fly into Detroit. They were HORRIFIED.

Never mind Detroit has a nice airport, Ann Arbor is bad ass and the airport is actually close to Ann Arbor than parts of Detroit.

We've been calling this shit for years.  A lotta people who y'all might not be huge fans of (and understandably so), but who did their Constitutional Duty from Pence to Milley to Casey are gonna spend the rest of their lives looking over their shoulders for the MAGA moron with an AR-15 looking to shoot up their house because they made them feel silly for supporting a false idol.  It's already kinda started happening with the number of judges and witnesses being granted 24-hr security detail.  But eventually, after all the dust settles in a few years...they'll be left out on their own amidst a sea of people who don't forget and never stop talking to one another in insane dark web chat-rooms.

And who will provide them with the security and safety their families so deserve?  why the latest and greatest business endeavor in America, that's who.  The hugest, biggest, most yugely fantastic security detail in the world.  You guessed it?  TRUMP SECURITY!

I, personally, have the higher ground where I live, with an easy shot up to 300-500 yards from most all directions of attack so bring it on dorks.

More accurately bring on the drone strikes when they attempt the next coup; they've been shittting all over military brass. They lost the Civil War, they lost thier guerilla war via the KKK, They lost on Jan 6, and they will lose next time too.

.300 WBY Mag sighted in at 300 yards. I’m getting really close to wishing some deluded motherfuckers would. If they’re dumb enough to think that every gun owning American is on their side, then they’re dumb enough to give me a clear shot as they violently attack my country.

Lavern, he was tortured and crucified for repeatedly referring to himself as "The Son."  Dude literally died for pronoun over-usage.

I'm laughing because....duh.   This is the play.  This has always been the play.  Pick up the "How to become a fascist authoritarian state: a beginner's guide" manual.  I think this move is on page 14.  It's not a complicated manual.  Every play in it has been run before.

I’m in the enterprise software biz. I suspect NC uses an ERP like SAP for HR, ADP for payroll, and accepts credit cards for residents to pay for car registrations. These could all be argued as contractors and be subject to home entry by the gestapo.

I suspect this has caught the attention of the corporate attorneys for these software companies.

I would be great to see these companies unplug the software and endpoints the day after this goes into effect. NC would burn to the ground within a week.

Sock this one away. Guess we will find out whodunnit but a gay Philadelphia journalist/activist was gunned down at his house early Monday morning. Could be something. Could be nothing. Shot seven times -- sounds kind of personal, doesn't it?

Philadelphia journalist and advocate Josh Kruger was shot and killed at his home early Monday morning, according to police.

No weapons were recovered and there have been no arrests, a statement from police says.

Kruger, 39, was shot seven times in the chest and abdomen at his Point Breeze home at around 1:28 a.m., police said. He was pronounced dead at the hospital.

Most recently, Kruger had worked as a journalist covering issues like LGBTQ+ rights, homelessness, HIV and addiction in publications like The Philadelphia Citizen and The Philadelphia Inquirer. One of his most recent stories was a tribute to JoAnne Epps, the president of Temple University, who died in September.

“We are shocked and saddened by Josh’s death,” said Philadelphia Mayor Jim Kenney in a statement provided to CNN.

“Josh cared deeply about our city and its residents, which was evident both in his public service and in his writing,” said the mayor. “His intelligence, creativity, passion, and wit shone bright in everything that he did – and his light was dimmed much too soon. We were exceedingly fortunate to call him a colleague and our prayers are with everyone who knew and loved him.”

His work built on his own personal experiences living with HIV and experiencing homelessness, according to his LinkedIn profile. In his profile, he described himself as a “destroyer of stigma and bureaucratic silos” and a “believer in the common good.” He also used social media as a platform to write about his own experience surviving addiction and continuing to work with people dealing with addiction in Philadelphia.

Kruger was shot seven times at his home in Point Breeze, a neighborhood in South Philadelphia.

From Josh Kruger

Kruger also worked for the City of Philadelphia for five years, according to his website and LinkedIn. He worked with the Department of Public Health as well as the Office of Homeless Services and Office of the Mayor.

Senator John Fetterman called Kruger’s death “a devastating loss” in a post on X, formerly Twitter. “Josh cared deeply about Philly and fiercely advocated for the most vulnerable communities through his journalism,” the senator wrote. “He will be sorely missed.”

In a statement, District Attorney Larry Krasner said Kruger “lifted up the most vulnerable and stigmatized people in our communities – particularly unhoused people living with addiction.”

“As an openly queer writer who wrote about his own journey surviving substance use disorder and homelessness, it was encouraging to see Josh join the Kenney administration as a spokesperson for the Office of Homeless Services,” Krasner said.

“As with all homicides, we will be in close contact with the Philadelphia Police as they work to identify the person or persons responsible so that they can be held to account in a court of law,” the district attorney said.

In 2014 and 2015, Kruger won the Society of Professional Journalists’ award for newspaper commentary in Pennsylvania.

Pennsylvania state Sen. Nikil Saval wrote on X he was “sick over this horrible news.”

“Josh Kruger fought for housing justice as a public servant and journalist, he had so much more to do,” wrote Saval. “Sending love to his family and everyone close to him.”

Yep.  Odds are overwhelming that it was one of two things: 1) a relationship/family issue (rule: the spouse/boyfriend is ALWAYS a suspect), or 2) a targeted hit.  I'm sure we'll get some internet chatter on 4Chan or whatnot soon enough if it was option 2.  The kind of person who would do that hit is going to want to brag.
