It's not, that's why the Nationals play their games in Maryland.  Which...(Checks Notes)...is a State.  of the earlier ones, too.

Also on the "Impeach Trump" banner, I would have gone with "Trump is Not Our Standard"

Nats play in Southeast on the Anacostia River.  Obviously most of the fans are from DMV, but if I had to guess most are from NOVA, NW, or MoCo specifically.

I wasn't thinking sexual. He has a history of abuse and I no doubt believe he would slap her around to feel better.

What exactly is the Secret Service responsibility with respect to witnessing/reporting spousal abuse? I don't know anything about their job, but that would be an awful situation. Some do not think of educated white males as being domestic abusers even though statistics show that is not true. The more educated one is, the better one is at hiding it and/or avoiding consequences.

On today's slate: a visit to the Windy City for the President!

He will be speaking at International Police Chiefs Association Conference wherein I am certain he will expound on Chicago crime, Chicago Democratic leaders, and Chicago minority populations but avoid talking about the history of the mob in Chicago, the history of the compromised police force in Chicago, and the history of redlining and housing projects in Chicago. After consoling the police, any other visitor to Chicago might take advantage of the fall weather and admire the vivacity with which it conducts its business, but alas, Trump will head over to Trump International Tower and speak to people who like/don't like him but definitely want something from him i.e. fundraisers. And then back to the WH. After yesterday's highs and lows, today's agenda should be fun.

I'm not going to forget it. She's got a long road back to being a respectable human. It's as if Stephen Miller gave her the jacket.

Here. I got you something especially for today. Because the cruelty is the point. Embrace the darkness. They are merely animals in those cages.

First I'd like to say, fuck you Chris Coons.

Now on to my post...

National security officials say Trump revealed secret US tactics by describing the raid that killed ISIS leader al-Baghdadi, possibly compromising future operations

Because, of course...this idiot can't be trusted with any sensitive information.

In a press briefing broadcast live on Sunday, US President Donald Trump described in granular terms the raid in which US special forces killed Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, the leader of the Islamic State terrorist group.

"When we landed with eight helicopters, a large crew of brilliant fighters ran out of those helicopters and blew holes into the side of the building, not wanting to go through the main door because that was booby-trapped," Trump said.

But according to current and former military and national security experts who spoke with the media in the wake of the raid, the gripping, public details — down to precise timings and specific tactics — could come back to haunt the US in future raids.

Trump relished describing al-Baghdadi as "whimpering and crying and screaming all the way" before his death, having been pursued into a network of subterranean tunnels by the US forces before detonating a suicide vest.

The president said that US forces had a detailed knowledge of the tunnel network and that his perspective following the raid from the White House Situation Room was "like watching a movie."

Trump mapped out part of the dangerous route taken by the airborne special forces to the terrorist's hideout in northwestern Syria. He said the aircraft traveled "very low and very fast," took an hour and 10 minutes, crossed territory held by Russia, and encountered enemy fire. The team, he said, took the "identical route" back.

Some national security officials have expressed concern that Trump's vivid description of the raid may have revealed too much — handing terrorists targeted by the US valuable information on evading capture or death.

Michael Leiter, who was director of the US National Counterterrorism Center when Osama bin Laden was killed by US special operations forces in 2011, discussed the issue with Vox on Sunday.

"Talking about how many aircraft, where the aircraft are flying in, how they're breaching a building, other technology they can bring to bear, knowledge about the tunnels and the mapping of those tunnels, these are operational details which are only about preening," Leiter said.

And speaking with Politico, current and former military officials and special operations commanders questioned the commander-in-chief's decision to describe details of the raid.

They said the president provided clues on how al-Baghdadi was located, specific details on the network of tunnels into which he fled, and information about how they accessed the building.

They questioned why he revealed that US special forces took time after the assassination gathering intelligence, ultimately staying at the site for two hours.

"There's no reason to reveal that," a former special operations commander told the publication.

"You're giving them another way to think about how long forces on the ground are vulnerable. Timing on an objective is something where you never want the bad guys to know what your procedure was or how long it took."

Trump has faced criticism in the past for disclosing highly sensitive information on military and intelligence operations. In August he tweeted a highly detailed picture of an Iranian rocket-launch site that experts said had most likely been included in his classified intelligence briefing.

The theatrical manner of Trump's announcement of al-Baghdadi's death differed from the measured announcement of bin Laden's death delivered by President Barack Obama in 2011.

But the criticisms they received in the wake of the announcements haven't been so different. Obama administration officials were censured by some at the time as revealing too much about the raid on the compound in Abbottabad, Pakistan.

Peter King, then chairman of the House Homeland Security Committee, called for an inquiry to be launched after it was revealed that Obama administration officials had briefed the film director Kathryn Bigelow for her film "Zero Dark Thirty" about the hunt for bin Laden.

There will always be a tension between a president's desire to gain political credit for a successful, high-profile operation and the desire of US military forces to cloak such operations in secrecy.

And some officials defended Trump, saying he was in fact deliberately vague about operational details that could compromise future raids.

"There's always a risk in saying too much," Robert Spalding, an Air Force general who served on Trump's National Security Council, told The Washington Post.

"But the thing I liked was, there were no pictures, there was no specification of types of aircraft used. Everything I saw in terms of what was released was quite vague."

On the one hand, Trump does not want to draw attention to his being booed and the lock him up chants at the Astros game last night.

On the other hand, he’s not going to want to let it go, and you know it’s pissing him off.

I hope Urquidy’s and Altuve’s paperwork has no mistakes at all, along with a few of the other international players.

You think he gets a better reception in Houston? The city went massively blue last election because of Trump.

No fucking way.  I think he gets the same treatment in Houston if not worse.  Nats fans are pretty polite.  But I think that he thinks he would get a better reception in Houston.

He is largely insulated. He doesn't know how much of the country hates him. He watches only Fox News, his handlers blow him daily, and he only goes to events where the attendees are handpicked fans. This is the first time he has been to an event with the general public so he believes it is an anomaly.

He should go to an aggy home game. It will be like a rally for him.

He's probably faced one or two "nasty" protesters that have gotten close to him or they're 1 in 2000 at a rally but seriously has he run across a large crowd that has booed him ever? My guess is that he will soon tweet that he was greeted with cheers at the Nats game, if only to fan the flames of his haters, aka intelligent people.

To me the biggest insult was that the Nats owners told MLB and the Secret Service to not request that Trump sit in the owners box.  The scenario was basically Trump invited himself to a party and while the host graciously allowed it, the host didn't want to be seen with him. I assume that Trump quickly had to round up some of the GOP lackeys to accompany him to the game to not make it seem like he was unwelcome.

Baseball is the most wholesome activity for fathers and sons in America.

Therefore, Barron was sitting at home while his parents went to the game and Trump took his lackeys.

Yeah, I know that's a little thing.....but FFS, how pathetic of a fucking human being can you be?  You have a young son.  A WS game is being played where you live, you have a chance to attend.....and you don't bring your damned kid?

Seriously, I have turned DOWN (or requested a modification of) invitations to cool events because 1) it was something one of my kids would really love to be at, and 2) they weren't invited.  If President Brisket had a chance to go to a WS game, he'd damned well be taking Tito Cabrito with him.

Not that we need yet another reason in the cascade of reasons to conclude that he's a sociopath narcissist shitbag, but this one stands a bit alone and unique.  You go to a WS game in your hometown and you don't even bring your son.  There's literally no aspect of his life in which he is not an awful human being.  And the Repubs, the party of family values, FUCKING WORSHIP HIM.  Even Doc Holliday had a limit....

I sometime wonder if it's Melania trying to keep Barron as far from his dad as she can. Maybe she sees how fucked up his kids are and Barron's best bet is to just stay away. But yeah, how do you not take your kid to the World Series game. Even a narcissist like Trump would see it as I'm going to show everyone how great of a dad I am by bring my son to a game.

"Show respect for the office" -- fuck that.

This is a man who has called ANYONE WHO DOESN'T BLINDLY SUPPORT HIM "human scum."  How in the blue fuck am I supposed to show respect for that?  And WHY should I show respect for that?  He fucking called me "human scum."  I will show him all the respect that is due to someone who declares the very people he took an oath to serve "human scum"  - and that amount would be ZERO.

Every day that he is in office, this open sore of a nation that he has helped create festers even more, and the long-term prognosis gets even worse.  Fuck him up his putrid ass.

If you want respect, you have to be a person worthy of respect....unless you are black.

The idea behind respecting the office is a difficult one.  I have a relative who was very anti-Obama but he always stuck with respecting the office during the Obama adminstration and I thought that was nice. Of course, he had to make a point of telling you how much he hated Obama but wouldn't disrespect the office.  eyeroll.  Now he is upset that others are not following his example with Trump.  I agree that it's a shame that many cannot show more respect to the POTUS office while Trump is there but Trump is the one to blame for that.

There is a false narrative that we as US citizens have to respect the office of POTUS. Citizens are not in the military so we are not bound to him as our Commander in Chief. The President should continually earn our respect and not automatically receive it because 50% (or less) of the public vote for him/her. And if the President wants to degrade the office and the country, then so be it.

I respect the office of the President.  Hell, I respect the Constitution and judicial offices and legislative offices at well.  But Trump does not respect either the office he's holding or the Constitution, and is doing his level best to take a giant shit on them.  So, no, I don't respect the holder of the office right now.

And that isn't about his politics or his beliefs.  Hell, he has none, except what gets him adulation from his cult and money.   And it's the GOP that doesn't respect the office of the presidency.  First, by electing an orange turd to fill it.  Also, the way they treated Obama--mustard, 57 states, tan suit, most divisive president--ie. most black president ever, was disgraceful.  That's different from not respecting someone who in the last week called more than half the country "human scum" and whose crowning achievement is putting babies in concentration camps.

...also these presidential show ups are usually staged for maximum value and minimum damage.  I would guess there have been plenty of presidential appearances that were scratched due to possible crowd reaction during an unfavorably trending series of events in order to preserve the respect for the office and not to poke the bulldog , as it were.  In this case there were either some tone deaf advisers or a presidential override,or both.
