Dude yes you do vote like your life depends on it. That's their whole thing this year. This year only. This isn't like other years.

That’s why I said not a good strategy in general but mig work bc of trumps toxicity. I wouldn’t want to workshop a new and unproven strategy if it was me though.

Twitter needs to shut his account down.  If anything is inciting violence, it is this guy.

I've not at all been one of the people on the side of "he's inciting violence" or "he's gone overboard with his Twitter this time!". I've mostly thought he's just a blowhard idiot, which he is. In fact I've caught flack for being laissez-faire about most of his riling-up of his base. But I agree. He is legitimately trying to both undermine our system of law and elections while at the same time fomenting real-world violence and real-world voter suppression.

This is a scared person with a lot of deep-seated emotional issues who is going to cause a lot of long-lasting damage on his way out.

How the heck am I supposed to vote for this? Trump is a disaster but this is the definition of communism.  There is no way Usain Bolt and I end up at the finish line at the same time even if we start at the same starting line unless someone chains an anchor to him or gives me a jetpack.  And this isn't some right wing rag site. This is her own twitter feed. Stuff like this is scary.  This is a no win scenario.  We screwed America.

Lolwut? So you think people from poor areas should get an inferior education simply because they were born into a poor family?

Just answer that question honestly for me.

Sigh.  Basically, she is saying it is not about ensuring equal outcomes, but that people have equal opportunity.  A lot of us have been saying that this exact same thing is needed.  However, it is very very hard, and some re ally tough questions need to be asked.

I agree with SBBruin on this one. Changing the rules of the game is very GOPish. Have good policies, win over voters, maintain control of the senate and get more liberal justices to replace Thomas and Alito when the time comes.

This is the problem with Democrats. They fall for the honorable gentleman card why the other side slits their throat. There is nothing sacrosanct about 9 justices, but the GOP will try and shame Democrats and the country to think they’re committing treason. They’re not. Just like the GOP wasn’t breaking any laws by filling the Ginsburg seat. If the American people legally elect a Democrat president and congress, they represent the will of the people to enact laws. If they they do something people do not like, then America will elect new people.

Communism is that everyone gets the same regardless of how much they work and how talented they are. Equity is that everyone gets the same resources at the starting line and the only thing that separates them is their work ethic and natural talent.

I'll even dig deeper into this. It isn't enough to give everyone the same tools. If I were to throw a random teenager off of the street into the workshop of a master carpenter and told them to build me a canoe, could they do it? No, because they don't know how to use the tools to do so. What if I threw the master carpenter's teenage son in there? There's a really good chance that he knows what to do. Equity is teaching a person how to build a canoe before throwing them into the workshop. Inequity is throwing that random teenager and the master carpenter's son into the workshop at the same time and expecting them both to leave the workshop with equally good canoes.

This is a good synopsis of the scenarios.

Any of the "significant 6" being called for Biden at any point and you can call the election for Biden. And even if Trump takes all 6, He still to win PA AND Arizona which is a heavy lift.

I'm hoping for the easy button and Biden wins FL, GA, or NC before midnight. I'm popping bottles as soon as any of those go Biden because that's ballgame.

regardless of your definition, what she is pedaling sounds pretty crappy to me. If I bust my butt I'd hope I get recognized for it. And if I slack off and the other guy busts his butt I'd hope he would get rewarded more than me.  I don't want to end up in the same place for unequal work and talent. Whats the incentive to try if we all end up in the same place.  I guess in my earlier scenario Usain Bolt has to come back and pick me up and carry me across the finish line because I'm so damn slow? While that sounds all touchy feely and wonderful, all it is ultimately gonna do is make him sit around playing x box and drinking tigerclaw while he waits for me to catch up so we can cross the finish line together.

Add me to the list.  I've had a gradual shift left since GWB's first term and my disillusionment stemming from the Gulf War/Iraqi WMD lies.  But trump and, more importantly, the GOP's complete capitulation to him, has greatly increased that shift.  I almost feel like a veil's been lifted.

this timeline matches my own. right around when Cheney replied "so?" to an interview question about the American public's support for the Iraq war decreasing and no WMDs found...then add some Abu Ghraib and torture in the mix and that was pretty much it for me.

You cats upthread discussing your move away from the GOP:

I'm a little different than y'all.  I was pretty "conservative" as a young man, as far as policy goes.  But, when the fucking preachers took control of the party, I was out the fucking door.  Goldwater was no dummy.  He predicted it, and it happened.  It wasn't trickle down or any of that other horseshit that turned me away, it was the bullshit preachers.

I don't give a single fuck what issue we are talking about:  Put Falwell Jr. and Pat Robertson on Team X, and you can bet your sweet ass that I'm on Team Y.

I have another friend who is a “pro-life” Dem, both her and her husband.

She explained like this:  She herself will never have an abortion, but they don’t’ believe the government should be telling women what to do with their bodies.  Her and her husband are pro-life for their family.  What other people do is their business, but the government shouldn’t be involved.

They are also pro BLM, pro LGBTQ, pro 2nd but want gun reform, and they are Catholic.

I’m originally friends with her, and she cusses and drinks like a sailor.

That’s basically me

It sounds crappy to you because you don't understand what you're reading and hearing. And also because you don't understand what communism, socialism, or any other ism you are scared of actually is.

Now whether that's because you're too stupid to understand it or because you're willfully misunderstanding it to feel better about your Team R vote is for you to decide.

No I don't think people from poor areas should get an inferior education. My concern is more about how do you get people to the same outcome and not end up severely holding back the greatest of us? There is no way I catch up to Bolt without some major help and no mater how much running education you give me/training, there is no way we end up running the same speed. I"m sure you could help me improve my time in the 100 meter dash but ultimately you're gonna have to hold him back or do so much for me that it looks like favoritism/nepotism/cheating to get us to the same results.

You push "Run Simulation" and watch the results roll in by poll closing time.  If your guy doesn't win, push "Run Simulation" until they do!

They better have Cloudflare or I'm crashing that thing tomorrow night.

No one is saying this. It's highly unlikely to borderline impossible to get to the same outcome if you don't have the same chance.

"No healthcare plan, higher middle lower class taxes, Rich people pay no taxes, 228,889 dead Americans, 12,580,000 unemployed Americans, 8,000,000 more Americans in Poverty, while Donald Trump used well over 100,000,000 in tax money for golf"

That's much more scary. And unlike yours it's actually reality

Didn’t need that tonight.

1.) It’s GRHorn sourcing C list FOX reporters. Biden is right to hammer PA because Trump has put the writing on the wall for months - he is going to try to sue for it there. Nothing more, nothing less. It’s not like Hillary Clinton getting completely blindsided.

2.) Biden has viable paths to victory without PA. Trump doesn’t. Biden can win with WI-MI-AZ-NE2. No Texas, Florida, Pennsylvania, or North Carolina needed. The odds are seriously stacked against Trump here. It’s why they’re flailing so desperately.
