God he's so fundamentally stupid.

Indeed. But more that, he's fundamentally a fascist, a Christian fascist.

I don't give a f*ck if he was an SEC football coach. The SEC territory is ground zero for fascism in America. And UT is jumping right in to that sewer. Pathetic.

Is Senator Coach under the impression that tanks are permitted to have late term abortions? Because they're not.

These folks are way classier than I am. I would respond to every one of his questions with a follow-up concerning his tenure in Lubbock.

Yeah I don’t really consider a sporting conference as jumping into a sewer, but I suppose I understand the sentiment.

Wait till you go to  road game.

I’ve watched an SEC conference game in Tuscaloosa. Gotta tell you I see plenty of trash at our games too. Bevo Blvd isn’t exactly a sea of civility.

I’m simply saying I don’t think an athletic conference suddenly sullies my degree, sullies the reputation of UT, or is pretty much anything other than an athletic conference. It’s football.

“We are losing in the military so fast,” Tuberville told WBHM. “Our readiness in terms of recruitment. And why? I’ll tell you why, because the Democrats are attacking our military, saying we need to get out the white extremists, the white nationalists, people that don’t believe in our agenda, as Joe Biden’s agenda. They’re destroying it. This year, we will not reach any recruiting goals in the military. So if we want to talk about looking weak, that’s where we’re going to look weak. We cannot start putting rules in there for one type, one group and make different factions in the military, because that is the most important institution in the United States of America, and our allies, is a strong, hard-nosed, killing machine, which is called our military.”

wat?

I am pissed at the failure of an Alabama Star Chamber.  if not there, where? If not now, when?

I have a carry permit, but I do not carry.  Why? in recent years I am increasingly daydreaming of shooting motherfuckers like Tubberville.  That is not a good take for a former civil rights attorney, and certainly not mentally healthy.  But I hate so many in the GOP right now, it’s far better just not to carry in case I run across someone like Tubs or Senator Josh Haul-ass IRL and the last vestige of my humanity leaves me.

Tommy Tuberville is a fascist theocrat. Perfect for the SEC territories. Looking at a map, the SEC is little more than the Southeastern Confederacy Conference. Or the Fascist Football Conference.

And UT has said, "Hell yeah, let's join 'em." Truly sad.

We are told this was just about "money" and "eyeballs" and playing "Big Boy Football." All true, but only part of the reason.

We cannot ignore the cultural context. The move to the SEC was a post-BLM, post-Covid, MAGA-world cultural alignment orchestrated from the very top. Why? To show the liberal, woke, secular intelligentsia on UT campus — and in the state of Texas — where the Top MAGA Men/Women in Texas have their hearts and minds.

The SEC move was orchestrated and approved at the highest levels—above Hartzell and Del Conte. They are the Yes Men, the public cheerleaders. This move does not happen without Abbott and BOR-MAGA power brokers 1000000% on-board. No freaking way.

No way does Abbott/BOR let UT join the West Coast Woke conference. Never. Can you imagine the whining of Ted Cruz, Cornyn, and many UT alums if UT joined with California, even though the Austin economy is fueled by California firms, with their names on factories and skyscrapers in Austin. Name one firm in the SEC territories with their name on a skyscraper in Austin or Texas.

The SEC move and the new Civitas Institute (funded with millions, staffed with academic Christians/Theists) both serve the same purpose. Culturally align The University of Texas with the MAGA-fascism-theocracy-unbridled billionaire corporate capitalism that politically run the state of the Texas.

It all makes me very sad.

So, Tuber admits to being a white nationalist, and all trump supporters are while nationalists?  Just how fucking stupid is this asshole….and who’s paying him to hold up our military promotions…holy crap.  Not only was a pathetic coach, but now he’s evolved into a sorry human being.

I agree with this. Culturally I can’t stand SEC. Probably won’t go to any road games because all SEC towns are red hat shit holes except Vandy.

WBHM reporter Richard Banks asked Tuberville to clarify his comments on white nationalists saying, "You mentioned the Biden administration trying to prevent white nationalists from being in the military. Do you believe they should allow white nationalists in the military?

"Well, they call them that. I call them Americans," Tuberville said.

A reporter asked him what he thinks a white nationalist is and he said “a white nationalist is a Trump supporter.”

It was in an interview with NBC correspondent Julie Tsirkin. Nicolle Wallace played audio. I haven’t found that but I grabbed some quotes.

Tuberville is an idiot. I thought Tsirkin could’ve done a better job with her questions and comments, especially since she was dealing with a mouth breather like Tommy. But she’s young so I can let that slide.

I credit her with an affable exchange over a hyper-incendiary reality.  She invited him to wade into the shallows, not dive head first into a Peter Sellers reflexive zig heil.  And simultaneously allowed him space to do either.  And probably had to hide her elation that he chose to go snorkeling in the white nationalist shallows.  If you want to see immediate surrender to even brief discomfort, watch Chuck Todd in the last four years.  There was no need for her to gnash her teeth in that exchange.  Letting Tubes allow that to settle on top of himself was masterful.

  • 2 weeks later...

Tommy  Tuberville thinks that the 3 branches of the US government are the House, the Senate and the Executive branches and also thinks that WWII was fought to free Europe from socialism (not fascism), so when he claims that some part of the American education system is inferior perhaps we should take him as evidence that he knows of what he speaks.
