Also nothing like a classic "look at me!" post where you expect cheers, a badge of honor and a key to the city for informing us you no longer post somewhere on this website.

So I quit and my mental health is better for it. You might benefit from doing the same.

You have never hung around to defend any of your topics because they are gaslighting shitposts. You are a drive by cloak room poster. The brigade negging for disagreement in CR is nonexistent and only exists in Daily Texan and the Recruiting/Football board.

‚ÄúI get the news I need from the weather report‚ÄĚ that line by Simon & Garfunkel is¬†my theme for this year. Trump gone, news cycle is boring thank god, all I need to pay attention to now is the weather report. Mental health better for sure but that‚Äôs more about that ignoramus finally being gone.

It's actually gotten quite boring since the orange blob is out of office. No 3-4 crises per day. It's nice to have a boring government again.

Yeah it's nice to not have a complete fucking moron as the President.

Can't believe all the fuck faces who voted for that fat fucking piece of shit.

Guest Lobo

There's a couple of desperate threads where folks try to read too much into what may or may not legally happen to Donald Trump.  And then some vague shit about Biden's socialist agenda coming for our guns.  It's been six months, 1/8th of his presidency...I'm just not seeing it, however.  The only thing really keeping the Cloak Room active is the crazy shit coming from Marjorie and Boebert.  I guess there's some Abbott traffic as of late, but mostly it's about new members of Congress from states really far away from Texas.  That's about how exciting and topical Cloak Room has become.  Posts on other threads about Cloak Room are receiving more attention than the Cloak Room forum itself, FWIW.

I still enjoy the fact that almost all my neg rep comes from people who had no issue with what I posted about politics from 2009-2017.  But all of a sudden, I'm a CR cabal member who shit posts.

We live in a world where the phrase "Donald Trump is very demonstrably one the dumbest people alive right now" is considered some big political statement. Think about how big and fat of a pussy you'd have to be to actually get offended.

To be fair to Trump, he's not "one of the dumbest people alive right now."  There are hundreds of millions of people on this planet who are much dumber than he.  It's unfair hyperbole.

Now...is he the dumbest person ever to serve as President of the United States?  The dumbest of 45 adult males.  Absolutely. But I'm frequently the dumbest person in a room of 45 people.  But I have the good sense to excuse myself and head to the bar.

Not a lot of room for moderates there.

Reflection of the times we are in.  Moderates tend to keep on the down-low, lest the nuttier relatives/friends from either side of the spectrum find out they are moderates and try and convince them to get off the fence.

Disagree, respectfully.

CR is filled primarily with moderates and conservatives - RINOs, neo-conservatives, PMC (professional/managerial class), Never Trumper Repubs, Centrist Democrats, and deficit hawks (Pete Peterson devotees).

Trumpers battle primarily with the moderates and conservatives on the CR.

Progressives have a small voice.

There may be one or two actual leftists.

I know of one left-libertarian on the board.

Just an opinion.

LOLz.

Leftists are not leftists.  They're centrists, gotdammit.

yeah, among leftist radicals, maybe...

I am a lifelong moderate conservative.  But over the last few years, whatever the shit is that the Republican party has become, I want no part of it.  There were a few moderate voices in Washington who would just get shouted down and called "RINO's" for not sucking Trump's cock.  So all that's left are Trumpers and those too cowardly to publicly speak out against him.  And it is costing the party a place at the table, because they become harder and harder to take seriously.

The most successful President's have always governed center left or center right.  Try to govern from the edges and it just doesn't work.  And call Biden what you will, but he holds the office because he was the most moderate candidate who had political chops in the field.

Dammit, I try to stay out of this shit except for a few drive by gifs and now you have me posting for real.  Where's the exit for chrissake!

Don't massage the test.  Answer it truthfully.  It's a-fucking-mazing how the self-professed 'centrists' never share their results.

I've definitely moved further left over the last decade of watching private healthcare fail my dad repeatedly in the management of his Parkinson's disease and ultimately kill him WHILE sapping away what was left of my parents meager savings that survived getting wiped out by WorldCom.

chart?ec=-4.0&soc=-6.67

I'm pretty sure the main questions that moved me further left were around regulation of corporations, not imposing my religious values on others, and access to healthcare. Go figure.
