I don’t like attempting to evaluate a receiver based on a highlight reel because I can’t see the drops (if there are some, and there probably are), but his positive plays are better than anything put on tape in the last two years by a Texas receiver not named “Worthy.” Really impressive stuff.

Part of what drives Cowing is the snubs he received three years ago when he was being recruited. While big schools were on him early, one by one they decided they wanted taller receivers than the 5-foot-11 Cowing.

Texas was one of those schools that decided not to take him, though then-offensive coordinator Tim Beck (now at North Carolina State) told UTEP coach Dana Dimel to take a shot on the productive wideout from Maricopa High in Arizona.

Once again you've crystallized my very thoughts, Godfather.

Jacob Cowing appears to be the type of WR that would thrive in Sarkisian's offense.

I really liked that athleticism he showed on that second catch on a grossly overthrown ball in his highlight video.

He's a burner (even showed that on one catch he made at a standstill and then turned on the jets), fights through contact, and appears to be able to catch a deep ball consistently.

I hope Sarkisian and the new WR corch kick the tires on Cowing.

Looks like Bama expects Gibbs to at least be in the two-deep.

For the RB position group,

- am assuming Robinson's leaving (out of eligibility?

- Trey Sanders (5*)

- Camar Wheaton (5*)

- Emmanuel Henderson ('22 5*)

- Jase McClellan (high 4*)

- Roydell Williams (high 4*)

- Jamarion Miller (high 4*)

- Jahmyr Gibbs (high 4*, transfer)

(Oh, and they have a bevy of receivers, and Young.  So of course they will still pass a lot.)

Even for Bama, that's a ridiculous number of highly rated RBs ... some of them have to transfer, right?

According to his twitter followers he's drawing attention from coaches across the country.  Banks already follows him.

With the portal in full swing, other schools are going to start making a living off Alabama transfers.

Robinson should be moving on, Sanders hasn't looked the same post-injury, McClellan looked great but tore his ACL, and Wheaton has struggled to make much noise, although he's only a true freshman

Blue may end up being a good one but you have to think we will get a good look from transfer portal backs after next season. Bijan will be the workhorse in 2022 and everyone knows it.

We could potentially lose our top three RBs. That's a good story to sell

Check out this receiver's highlights. He Mosses a couple of guys, shows great speed on a slant and catches some contested balls.

Agree, everyone looks good in a highlight video. Trying to figure who we really like off this portal is going to take some folks that watched all the games commenting on the player.

Josh Moore wasn't a bad player, he was just a shithead and had weirdly inconsistent hands.

Has a kid back in AZ.

While I'm sure being closer to his kid would be nice and everything, I have to imagine being able to make ~200K as the floor and considerably much more if he breaks out as an impact player for Texas over the next two seasons is likely enticing to anyone with young children as well.
