Another new poster tough-guy. Sigh.

Not even, I’m just speaking my mind and responding to those dishing it out. You’re the one with the typical simpleton response that’s been regurgitated hundreds of times, followed up with the 12 year old girl “sigh”. What else do you have ? I bet you have some bad ass emoji’s you could respond with.

You’re wasting your time on giving a rat’s ass and you missed the point of what I stated so you could have your half-witted retort. Do better with your reading comprehension. Now with that being said, go fuck yourself and shove your head up your sanctimonious asshole.

Lol.  Tough guy here.  😂

I missed it. I've seen all the outrage directed at the likes of Gruden and the Raiders. I haven't seen any directed at the company that was employing Gruden when all the emails were sent. There is a lot more dirt that is being selectively held out that would implicate big fish associated with the NFL. This was personal between Gruden and Goodell.

Exactly. Not a defense of Gruden but let the emails from others see the light of day as well. This was definitely a selective hit job (well deserved by Gruden—so ya fool.)

There have got to be people really worried though. Probably some serious behind the scenes stuff happening. Jmo.

Gruden was like the defacto President/GM because of the power Mark Davis gave him. It wasn’t just an ordinary coach. Lots of power he had and with the franchise now in Vegas the NFL made their move. So ya it was personal on Goodell’s part and necessary BUT they could have buried the emails if they do chose and none of us would know shit about it. They wanted him gone and he deserved to be gone.

It would be glorious if this shit would somehow entangle Snyder and force his sorry ass to sell the Skins.

It's rather complicated. The owners have the power and it would require the vast majority of the owners being on board with wanting Snyder out. Liken it to the situation with Donald Sterling in the NBA. Adam Silver acted because the rest of the NBA owners wanted Sterling gone, without that support it never would've happened. The owners hold the power in the NFL, not Roger Goodell.

This isn't racist. Some people have enormous lips. Many of those people are black. Pointing out someone's enormous lips, nose or whatever may be insensitive, but it is not racist. What, are we all supposed to pretend someone doesn't have enormous lips? To acknowledge it somehow makes you racist?

A better question is since you seem to already hate people after 42 posts, why don't you go post where you like the people?

Also, we were really cheated last night. This news broke during an exciting OT game and no Manning Brothers show. Can you imagine them trying to cover this news live from their basements? We were fucking cheated.

Yes, indeed.  ESPiN probably sighed relief Peyton didn’t have a live mic in front of him last night … no telling what he might say.

I miss the Oilers …

Me too, man....me too. It's like the heart break from that franchise followed  to Tennessee. Being tackled 1/2 a yard short from the goal line at the end of the Super Bowl. Choking up a sizable lead to KC in the AFC championship game. It was painful to be an Oilers fan and it's painful to be a Titans fan they always find ways to blow it on the biggest stages.

I am not certain how I feel about this.  I mean only a few years ago we learned it was wrong to break a woman's face.   /Stoops

The NFL under Goodell is not consistent at all with their punishments or lack of punishment to certain players/brass. Players with a history of abuse or domestic violence still collect paychecks. They are just not a credible governing body. If everyone got the same punishment for the same offenses across the board they would have more credibility. They just don’t have it. You can punish Zeke and pull him (presumably because Jerruh spoke out against Goodell at the time) but completely ignore other player offenses. They continuously suspend Josh Gordon (yes…he clearly can’t follow the rules) but then not suspend others. But shit…the email stuff with Gruden is just a small tip of the iceberg on a very very bad WFT scandal and they won’t let us see it. We deserve to know. If the Carolina Panthers owner was forced out why not Snyder?

Awful lot of "I'm an old white guy and I don't understand why we can't just say what we want" energy in this thread.

Pretty much. I mean people can say what they want. They just don’t want consequences for doing so. If I decided to say something in my work Teams Chat that is unacceptable and wrong/racist or sexist etc…I would be fired.

So who are the “other participants” and will they receive the same fate if still employed by NFL?

“Among the other troubling details: Gruden and some of the participants shared photos of topless women, including at least one Washington Football Team cheerleader. Other emails included more antigay language. Gruden also wrote that Eric Reid, a player who kneeled during the national anthem to protest racial injustices, should be fired.

The emails were presented to Goodell last week as part of the NFL’s investigation and were shared with the Raiders. The NFL referred to its initial statement from Friday which strongly condemned the language. “

NY Times: "Taken together, the emails provide an unvarnished look into the clubby culture of one circle of peers, where white male decision makers felt comfortable sharing pornographic images, deriding the NFL league policies, and jocularly sharing homophobic language.

Sounds like a really good day on Surly.

NFL is rolling out new commercials about how football is for everyone, trying to keep themselves relevant. The Grueden emails with the racism and homophobia and misogyny flies in the face of what they are trying to accomplish. He is what they want to leave behind. He is Archie Bunker when they'd rather have Jay Pritchett from Modern Family be a representative of who they are. A guy with love and tolerance for everyone. This is a marketing move first and foremost. The NFL ain't got no time to drag Archie Bunker into the now. It is a bonus that Godell is getting payback.

Georgia would have done better last year if this guy didn't run away from their racist fan base

He transferred because he didn’t start as a freshman and probably was t going to start ACDA sophomore. The racism complaint helped him transfer without sitting out a year.
