Joe Biden 2023: The Dark Brandon Rises

That chart is a change in numbers, not a change in percentage.  That means more white people have died then reproduced or immigrated.

Or it’s representative of a change in reporting.  “White” in federal reporting has historically contained a much broader range of populations than common perception.  For example most of the middle east and large portions of Asia have been categorized as “white”.

Red people moving back south and to red bastions like Montana, Idaho, Dakotas, and Colorado as well. Makes sense,

One of those is not like the others

Being only half-white, I don't get invited to the same meetings as many of y'all.  Is a declining white population replacement rate really a big deal?  Like, are some of you white people really wringing your hands that you don't see enough white people on the street in your town, or?

People do realize that being a "minority" isn't actually based on raw numbers, it's about power.  There are hundreds of examples in dozens of countries all over the world where a group lacks in numerical majorities but still retains majority levels of power.  So there's about to be more non-white people than white people in the United States, it's already the case in Texas.  Who gives a shit?  Are some of you white people having a hard time finding work, or a seat at the lunch counter, or voting?  I don't get the bitching and moaning from the group that was supposed to be the backbone of the country-white men.  Buncha sand vaginas you ask me.

I'm more anti-government than most of you on the far right, I just choose to go about it more productively than electing felons.  But I am of the opinion that we need to start seriously considering mandatory genealogy testing of adults in this country.  Most of you are nowhere near as 'white' as you think you are.  And those of you who are, those of you who can't stop bitching about socialist Europe this, woke Europe that, sure as hell can't shut the fuck up about how European your blood is.

Maybe it'll effect my children's lives, who are both far more white than I am...but for now only time you worry about population shifts is when a white male stops bitching about 'em.

Migration wasn’t right word to describe that graph, that’s my bad. He usually has some pretty sharp articles on redistricting but didn’t give much follow up on it, probably more of a reflection on  deaths and past birth numbers than post-Covid mobility.

Not an attempt to start a race comment war.

After all, we have 0.1% PPI, which is the truest and most important inflation factor.

The Census data are an interesting little rabbit hole. It's not totally clear which of the datasets and what region categories he is using, but here is a quick run based on the 6 level race classification dataset here: https://www2.census.gov/programs-surveys/popest/datasets/2020-2022/state/asrh/

But FWIW, first chart is region level breakdown, second is division level. Third is Texas. It doesn't really make a difference in the results, but I did back out 0-2 year olds to remove births. I think that it would require merging a few of the datasets, but it appears possible to differentiate migration from other components of population change.

I don’t have an issue with it because I don’t own a business, I’m not wealthy, and I don’t have lots of connections to get such things. The white people who hate it are the ones who are in the top 1%-10% and just don’t want anything at all to change. They’re resistant to pretty much all types of change really.

they scream the loudest because they own everything. Even things like tv stations, radio, newspapers, etc.

The only thing I’d get rid of is affirmative action. I think affirmative action has gone on long enough and we should just consider people for college slots and jobs based on merit and not the color of their skin. Enough minorities have succeeded since the civil rights era that I feel like the crutch or leg up is no longer needed and that crutch just hurts the non-rich / connected white folks.

Some podcast said the Biden campaign was purposefully withholding the amount until the last minute bc it was “bad” and “a sign he wasn’t serious about re-election” 😂

Political podcasts are the new $9.95ers. Nothing is based on reality

That’s a preposterous take. Anyone running against Trump - certainly including Joe Biden - will have every penny that he or she needs.

Oh trust me, I know.

As I recall, the RNC + Trump raised $105m in Q2 2019, but the GOP is, as usual, primarily reliant on high dollar donors.  Money wasn't an issue for Biden in 2020 and it will not be in 2024.

Something like $77m COH for the Dems as of now, which is a record for COH for a Dem campaign at this point in an election cycle.

Rhonda Santis - $20m

Haley - $7.3m

RFK - $6m

Tim Scott - $6.1m

Pence - $1.2m 😂😂😂😂

Burgum - $11.7m but $10m was a loan

Hutchison - $743,000 😂😂😂

So Biden outraised the entire Republican field? Can’t be right. Are republican candidates capable of getting small donations? How do I explain this? Can RFK do more pushups?

Because I’m impatient and probably forget in two weeks, I want to congratulate Jobs Biden on the best recession ever. In case you forgot, late July 2022/ early Aug 2022 we saw data showing two consecutive negative quarterly GDP reports. We all got to engage in flirtatious banter where Republicans raised their skirts quickly to accept the fleshy tip of bad news, eager to flood their panties and regal the surly cabal with stories of how they can only afford dog food and spaghetti-o’s.

As a strict dictionary-definition Librul, I had trouble accepting that recession. Credit to me for getting high and going low by pointing out how fucking stupid some of you are, you know who you are in the inflation thread. The ones from the generation that cook hot dogs in a microwave.

However, Biden signed a bill almost 11 months ago that would change the trajectory of his presidency and take a piece of his precious, beautiful mind and bring it to the public. The Jobs Biden Inflation Reduction Act.

Bidenomics has permanently redefined the barometer of all future resesshuns. The amount of blood, sweat, and ya’ll Qaeda tears could give us enough green energy to have a running grid in Texas.

From the liberal rag, Washington Post.

Americans are still better off, with more in the bank than before the pandemic

Bank account balances are 10 to 15 percent higher than they were in 2019, new data shows

Well some of us are still freeloading off our $2400 or whatever we got 3 years ago!

Just spent a week with someone who used to work closely with Biden for many years - first name-basis, all of that (focus was East Asian affairs). His take:

Biden is doing well…would have done better when he was younger. His age is definitely starting to show, and he’s not as quick off-the-cuff as he once was. He’s not debilitated by any means, but he’s just not as quick.

The Inflation Reduction Act was a huge win, economically, environmentally (positioning the US as a green energy tech and production leader), and geopolitically (re-shoring from China, showing China that its true vulnerability is if it alienates the west too much).

He gives Biden a B on China. He things that our relations with China hit their low point, and are now slowly improving (recent Blinken and Yellen meetings are key). Biden has made it very clear that if China arms Russia, they will face crippling sanctions…and China has no interest in doubling down on its bad bet on Russia. There’s a path towards equilibrium, he’s just approaching it very slowly, which is a campaign deal: he doesn’t want to look either too hard or too soft on China.

Ukraine is the biggest US foreign policy win in decades. In large part because we let Russia self-immolate, but also because it’s been exploited to solidify our role in Europe and create a split between China and Russia. It’s been played masterfully, but then, Biden has been prepped for fucking with Russia his whole life.

All-in-all, he’s pleased with the Biden presidency. He wishes he wasn’t so old, and really wishes he wouldn’t be so old when he runs again, but he looks at the competition and shrugs his shoulders.

Fair assessment, IMO. B is a fair grade overall and I don’t see any reasonable alternative. Biden 2024 it is.

I watched the full clip assuming they had to piece individual words together because she sounded so weird. No, she is just dumb, that is what she sounds like, and that is the main body of what she said.

LOL at thinking comparing Biden to a consensus upper-third and top-3 POTUS would be a bad thing.

Ok, has this all been a double agent skit?  I thought she was starting to turn a bit a few months back, but is this all a masterful play by the simulation?  Could it be?

Edit: also BRAVO to Biden's social media team.  They fucking kill it compared to 99% of other Dems
