We started watching Suits a few weeks ago. Very good so far.

To me the show overall is a B. I think it gets a bit formulaic, especially when you binge it. However, I think Harvey is an A+ character. I'm surprised I never hear him mentioned a lot.

Louis Litt could be so much better, but they really try to turn him into comedic relief.

Shane Gillis special is incredible. Ended up with me watching all his Gilly and Keeves sketches on YouTube. ISIS Toyota, Last White Football Team, Uncle Daycare, Militia Funeral.

Had a interview on the JRE podcast and he talks about getting hired by SNL and then immediately getting canceled, gotta give Lorne Michaels some credit on that one.

Hell yes, Disenchantment is back. Even when it's not good, which is most of the time, it's still good....you know what I mean

Binged it when I had Covid. An adequate ending to the show. Better than the new Futurama

The Mick was greatness.

Finally watched both seasons of Lincoln Lawyer.  Cisco seemed like horrible casting.  Not a menacing ex-biker and way too funny looking to land blonde ex-wife.  Could see the twist on S2 coming a mile away.

Ex is Barneys old stripper girlfriend from HIMYM

Ordinary Men on Netflix. I’m a serious WWII history buff and have never seen this story explored. The Holocaust always focuses on the death camps and the SS. Over 2 million were executed by firing squads. This is the story of the Reserve Police Battalions, or Occupational Police, who were recruited of those too old or incapable of military service, to enforce order in the occupied territories. These “Ordinary Men” were not fanatical Nazis, most weren’t fervent antiSemites. But yet they were soon primarily focused as part of Einsatzgruppen in clearing villages and ghettos of Jews, Polish resistance, gypsies, etc.

The doc is a historical review but also a study of how these shopkeepers and tradesmen became methodical murderers, doing the bidding of the state, without indoctrination or nazification. It’s also an indictment of the failure of the Nuremberg trials, with 172000 investigated and only 590 convictions. It’s not a Nazi thing but human. It’s continues happening.

Did I see a new sex education season dropped ? :)

I liked it but didn’t love it. Seemed weird that the “sex school” got shut down but Cavendish was like Moordale on viagra lol.

Didn’t really like the Maeve/Otis ending but Adam, Eric and Aimee were the stars of season 4

I watched the first episode of the Tyson Fury reality show last night. The dude has all the money in the world, a beautiful devoted wife who seems awesome (we can't know the truth but it certainly seems like she puts up with a lot of shit), a ton of kids, and lives in a mansion albeit the ugliest fucking mansion I've ever seen in my life.

Tyson seems like a decent guy but he is miserable. It really seems like he needs to be fighting to stay sane, otherwise he's going to go on some fatal bender or blow his brains out.

With all his money, why doesn't he hire help to do chores in all the crap that is driving him crazy, and a nanny to deal with the kids?

If I had his life, first of all I'd hire an interior designer but then I would go on to live the best life known to man.

Just watched "Painkiller" miniseries on Purdue Pharma, oxy, and its destruction.  Matthew Broderick as Richard Sackler.  Not as good as "Dopesick", but still very intriguing.  Amazing what they were doing under the guise of helping people.  Straight dope dealers who killed a LOT of people.

Yea after watching those 2 I went down an oxy YouTube wormhole. That shit is sad and tucked up

Watched Reptile last night.

Not horrible, not great. It kinda felt like they didn’t quite know what type of movie they wanted to make.

Lots of you thought it was gonna be this guy, wrong! Roundabouts.

Benicio was great in it though.

My wife and I liked it enough.

I wanted to like it, just wasn't that interesting or different than any one of a thousand other cop/murder/mystery films.

You can blame Benicio; he co-wrote and produced it.

Yeah, this is about where I am. Overall I thought the series was a B+/A-. Very solid. But the last season was a bit heavy handed.

Same boat.  Acting was good, but the story was run of the mill.  Have no clue what Alicia Silverstone has been up to, but she's held up pretty well.

I figured it out fairly quickly.

Benicio was great.

Especially when he was met with the idea of being "alone".

Made me wonder who in his life knew what was going on.

As for Alicia Silverstone....not bad at all aesthetically.

We all age and some worse than others.

It was slow but I gotta say I was ok with that.

By the way, the contractor was one sneaky bastard.

Reptile was fine. Acting was good. Story was basic. Had good tone.

I'm going to gently disagree. It was a shitty movie that tried to dress up it's shitiness by having long takes, interesting camera angles and colors. But ultimately it's same boring mystery with a "twist" that a 3rd grader could see coming. Characters make stupid decisions to advance the plot and everyone is dumb.

For example:

Spoiler

We used an unusual car to murder someone. Let's keep that car in our garage. That's a great place to store a vehicle, linked to a murder, that everyone is looking for. Ohhh...we repainted it. That'll throw them off the trail.

I watched the first episode of The Devil's Plan the other day.  I enjoyed it.  It's another Korean reality gameshow in the mode of Physical 100, but this show emphasizes problem solving instead of brawn.  12 contestants trying to win a starting prize of 500 million won (about $371,000).  The prize could increase depending upon the contestants' ability to finish challenges/puzzles.

My daughter made me watch that with her.  I didn't understand what the fuck was going on.

Every movie is not Seven.

Was their some dumb shit? Sure. Am I arguing it should be nominated for an Oscar? No. It was a Netflix Tuesday special. Whatever
