Had dinner the other night with a guy whose parents snowbird here from Canada each year.  They aren't planning on coming this year because of "reasons."   He's in oil and gas and votes R because of "reasons".   I just listened as he complained that his parents are getting screwed.  There was nothing to gain by trying to point out what the reasons were and ow they came about.

It was a good reminder why I rarely talk to the guy.

Report him to ICE.

None of my friends from abroad will visit the US. These are folks from the UK and Australia. I don’t blame them.

oui...mon amie francaise had plans for work visits to both New Orleans and San Diego in 2025, we were going to meet her in NoLa... both trips were canceled specifically bc of shit happening here, and they have an actual travel advisory about visiting the US 😒

He knelt down, took a handkerchief from his pocket, and spread it over Francis Macomber’s crew-cropped head where it lay. The blood sank into the dry, loose earth.

Wilson stood up and saw the buffalo on his side, his legs out, his thinlyhaired belly crawling with ticks. “Hell of a good bull,” his brain registered automatically. “A good fifty inches, or better. Better.” He called to the driver and told him to spread a blanket over the body and stay by it. Then he walked over to the motor car where the woman sat crying in the corner.

“That was a pretty thing to do,” he said in a toneless voice. “He would have left you too.”

Imagine bragging about taking Americans for 29B and these same halfwits cheer.

He will find a way to transfer 10% of the monthly tariff take to his own business for “consulting” fees.

Could you imagine the uproar if Biden had found a method to raise taxes on Americans and then bragged about the amounts online?

I'm unsure if Trump has ever acknowledged that Americans pay the tariff and not foreign countries. And why would the country pay the tariff and not the exporting company??  I do know that Bessent has reluctantly agreed in interviews that Americans do pay the tariff but then he pivots the conversation.

1) America just sat there and watched.

2) America actually actively assisted.

3) American arab/palestinian voters, in an act of childish petulance, helped make the worst possible by voting for a POTUS who promised to do exactly what he's doing.

It's a real triple-decker layer of shit.  And that's without mentioning Israel's turn from "holocausts are bad" to "let's openly holocaust the fuck outta Gaza."

That's not true.  America stood up and actively assisted in this horrifying ethnic-cleansing genocide.

The good news is there isn’t going to be any history. That is book learning for woke homos. The only history we need is in the Bible and on the back of my Donald Trump commemorative plate.

9 figures worth of federal funding for i35 cap and stitch through downtown just went buh bye. While it certainly hits blue Austin it impacts the entire state.

Lmgdao. I love this shit. What does it currently look like ?

Between 51st and 45th on the southbound frontage road they bulldozed half a dozen businesses and set up a huge staging area for equipment over the past 3-4 months or so. No idea what’s gonna happen now.

It'll get built still. It'll just be on the '26 bond ballot.

Yay, more transportation bonds to add to the never ending affordable housing/help the homeless bond and help AISD bond because the state rapes 1/2 of the AISD tax revenue to pay for the rest of Texas' bullshit.

Probably. The cap is supposed to be like riverside to 12th or so right?

fuck no. Possible City caps (that won't ever be built) would go from Cesar to 7th, 11th to 12th and near Airpot Blvd. They settled on trying to do Cesar to 4th and 11th to 12th IIRC but there is just no way the city could afford the 50 million a year to maintain those things.

The UT cap which will happen is from MLK to Dean Keaton.
