What even is their point?   I am honestly starting to think if they lose the election, they are all going to be screaming   ‘no way there’s no way, our rallies were bigger!’

When Texas goes for Biden he'll use that as an argument as to why the election must have been rigged. "They say I lost Texas. I don't think so. I won, hugely. Can you say voter fraud?"

So I’m sure any moment now Trump will come out with a sincere heartfelt apology and a rational explanation for all those families who had loved ones almost die in the cold last night.

Give Trump credit. A few of them could still die.

Regardless of how I feel about Trump, the thought of elderly people being helpless and freezing to near death is pretty sad and I can't find humor in it.

I’d be more compassionate if they weren’t fine with kids in cages, voter suppression and against a whole bunch of basic human rights. I’ll also accept death from covid, a hoax virus.

These really aren't smart people. Here's to hoping they have to pay for emergency transport out of pocket since they hate assistance because socialism.

This is what happens when you are part of a cult. The mere thought that your leader is coming to see you and that you can just be near them will make people forego any rational line of thinking. I do not believe these folks to be smart people either, but they have been duped to the point that they will be out in this weather to see their cult leader. The accumulation of all of these different instances and stories of cult behavior by our fellow countrymen and women should show the depth of the problem we will have going forward even with Dotard no longer serving as president.

I agree. I mean we lived in the upper midwest for a long time, still have family back in Nebraska and friends in Wisconsin and you do get used to the cold up to a point, but anyone with half a brain takes it seriously just as heat and hydration are considered in warmer climes. I scared the heck out of my husband once when he stayed home with a cold and I got stuck driving home from church in a sudden blizzard. We didn't have a cell phone at the time ($$) and I had to stop a couple of times to scrape off the back windows so I could see. Standard transmission for the win though. That car was a trooper.

I am not talking about violence and that should’ve been clear since I did not say that. I know that is what you think I am implying. I am implying that his cult will not just turn away and realize they were conned. Some will, but the majority will not accept they were lied to. That’s just basic human psychology of not wanting to have to admit how badly they were conned. That is going to be a big hurdle to have to overcome as a country.

That is the take I drew from your initial words. The question for me will be whether it draws a percentage of them deeper down a Q style rabbit hole where they can cocoon themselves from reality even further until the next messiah comes along, telling them what they want to hear: "I see you. You're relevant. You matter." That's not all some of them want to hear obviously, but it does seem to be a general feeling that some share. It ignores the darker side of the psychology i.e. 'I should matter more than THOSE people over there' and 'you aren't hurting the right people,' but at some point that hurdle is going to have to be faced.

I'm pretty sure all these people were fox news/breitbart readers far before Trump. Trump has gone even further radical because of his trope of misinformation and completely baseless claims. After Fox News doesn't give a shit about Trump they will just have a new champion, that champion will likely not be as radical and be a bit more rational when it comes to targeted misinformation that makes them feel like the new champion is fighting for them, when in reality they are just being used for cash or taking the load of the oligarchs.

This isn't as much of a "trump" cult as much as it is a factor of GOP extremism in general. Once he's ousted from the GOP after the loss they will just eat him alive, much like they have done for many others including Sarah Palin and John McCain.

We are just going to go back to the "But Joe Biden" instead of "But Obama" and before that "But Clinton". Trump is but a fart in the wind and a nice big shitstain on modern America. One day people are going to get a rash and just change their shit pants, the rash will remain for a few days/weeks (in political cycles months, maybe a year) then it's just gonna be the Party of Nikki Haley or Paul Ryan when he makes his "miraculous" comeback to politics.

What is going to be hilarious is after an overwhelming Biden win, instead of the Democrats unifying, they are going to fracture far more than ever before. I predict within 2 years there will be a Progressive party and a Democratic party.

You know what's really funny? Literally a week ago Trump said "nobody gets hacked."

According to President Trump speaking at a campaign event in Tucson, Arizona, October 19, “nobody gets hacked."

“Nobody gets hacked. To get hacked you need somebody with 197 IQ and he needs about 15 percent of your password,” Trump said, referencing the recent suspension of C-SPAN political editor Steve Scully, who admitted falsely claiming his Twitter account was hacked this week after sending a tweet to former White House communications director Anthony Scaramucci.

I think America has grown tired of cleaning up Donald Trump messes. The people were rescued by socialized firefighter and police spending. Odds are - some of the attendees and rescuers and workers will come down with Covid. Some may die. Many will infect others . . . the mess cycle will go on and on.

I am glad they were rescued and that those who needed care were taken to hospitals.

Americans take care of each other. Some Trumpkins are free-riders - taking that support but not treating others with the same respect. And some are just doing what people in a death cult do before the big Kool-Aid send off.

But we didn't do anything to them.  Their hatred and stupidity did this to them. They'd prefer nothing more than a compassionate static target for the civil war they're pushing. And as another posted posted above, they've been taking advantage of our compassion to strip rights for awhile now.

I saw a Tweet in which some news organization was at the rally and they were talking to people and they had no masks on and the interviewer asked this guy why he wasn't wearing a mask and he said "sometimes you gotta dance with the devil. That's what I always say."  This was a 30 year old man who said this.  "Yeah, I choose to voluntarily come out and get all snuggly close with 15000 other unmasked people because sometimes you gotta dance with the devil and I always say that."

are they causing real problems right now? What would make them suddenly start to cause real problems?

I see you have gone full contrarian here. That’s cool. No they aren’t right now. But when their guy is removed from power and that guy inevitably encourages violence and/or revolt, it is my contention that they will.

Currently they are still under the delusion that they are going to win. I have received several texts from trumper friends just this week predicting a Trump landslide.

I have stopped receiving most such emails/texts etc... by replying that, "You know, for the longest time ----- years ----- I was sending out political stuff to my friends but it finally dawned on me that nobody cares. Nobody cares about my dumbass opinions about politics."

Believe it or not, most everybody has got the point, even my dad, who is an anti-Trumper to no end.

The Proud Boys and their ilk are literally “standing by” for his orders which we all know he’ll do in his nonchalant “what’d I say?” way after he looses due to fraud or whatever else he makes up. I think it’s more likely that they are dickless cowards but you only need a few with assault rifles to cause some serious shit.

I think this a good summary on Trump and his debts for those of us simple folks not well versed in how all this works. You know people who diligently pay their bills, mortgage, rent, credit card debt, school loans,  etc? (ie: suckers/losers)

simple questions i had like :

how can one just not repay your debts without any repercussions?

how can he not be shitting in his pants about how much he still owes? See question 1.

Why do banks even lend to him anymore? He never pays them back and somehow finds a way not to be penalized for it. Is that why he had to seek money from International Banks (like in Russia)? Had finally exhausted American lenders?

I can answer the last one. Because the banks still want to launder that sweet sweet money from criminal organizations and need shitheads like Trump.

Banks don’t lend to Trump. They haven’t for years.

I spent two years after the financial crisis putting real estate developers in bankruptcy. It’s common for “rich” people to have a lot of cash but not be worth a damn thing. They declare bankruptcy  and move on. Judgments may or may not be entered. Can’t squeeze water from a rock.

As much as I'd love to attend a "Celebrate Biden Victory" event outdoors in Austin on Election Night, after Election Night, or on Inauguration Day.  I won't.  I would actually take the Covid-1i risk it was outdoors so I could just stand far away from other folks but just feed off the energy.  But I won't do it because there will absolutely be with 100% certainty...violence visited upon events like that around the country.  11/3-1/20, there will be murders in the dozens, possibly in the hundreds around the country.  Not necessarily Austin, but in Texas and beyond.

i think for most folks, we wonder...how can one live like a billionaire for so long without actually being a billionaire?

and why doesnt just everyone do that?!

its seems immoral? is it not?
