Well, the problem is, those of us who understand what Trump is doing understand that it's bullshit.

Those who don't understand it probably can't be convinced and will view prosecution as politically motivated.  I assume Biden will be true to his word and not interfere with federal prosecution decisions either way, which is both the right and proper thing to do, and right insofar as him being a big proponent of prosecution would just fuel the Q-type narrative.

Correct. The prosecutions need to happen. But the President doesn't need to be directing them to happen. They need to be the outcome of the regular course of conduct of prosecutors and law enforcement.

That's the joke. It was called the "Obamaphone" by people painting him as a "socialist," you know, "free stuff, " and whatnot. Of course Slorch would ignore that nuance.

What’s black and white and red all over?

A communist with no sense of nuance.

Correct. And there's this:

This is why I hate and love parliamentary procedures.  There are some fuckers out there that know Roberts Rules like the back of their hands and can run roughshod over the rest of us fuckers who merely speak English.  Fortunately, they generally tend to be on my side, so....

This shit is why I'm discouraged when I see Biden talk about how he doesn't want people to go after Trump when he's out of office. Bullshit. Go after him and any of the people who are helping him like Lindsey Graham. These fucks are attacking one of our most sacred institutions even though they know there's very little chance they're going to be successful. This is all to stroke Trump's ego and set him up for 2024. Fuck them.

Maybe Biden should hold rallies and everyone can chant "lock him up"

Exactly.

The solution to Trump isn't to politicize the DOJ even further.  Plus, whoever is nominated for AG would be grilled relentlessly by Senate GOP if Biden said HELL YEAH PROSECUTE THAT FAT SON OF A BITCH LETS LOCK HIM UP.

Actually i recognized it in the response, but being illiterate works for you in your world of enlightenment, I guess.

If Biden talks about investigating trump, it only encourages Trump to fight more while he's in power. There's no upside in Biden talking this way now.

But most likely Biden will want to unite the country and he won't want a general investigation into Trump. That won't mean that Congress won't investigate specific incidents and they will have a DOJ that will enforce their investigations. Pompeo just can't ignore them like he does now.

Biden has no control over what the House committees and SDNY and the State of New York do.

That's where we will see the most action.

I'm going to assume it's illegal for a candidate to pressure the people who certify their election.

You should also assume that Donald Trump gives two rat fucks about what is illegal

Well. Id argue he should care if he's violating MICHIGAN state law, and not federal. Seems like another state lawsuit after he's out of office could be a pain in his ass.

Biden needs to have a come to jesus with people in his party who run different states. If he wants this "hands off" shit in regards to him moving on and that perception, he'd better have the wink and nod that  states like NY and MI where he's violating local laws go after him with teeth. He wants to play penny ante bullshit with regards to his many lawsuits casting doubt on democracy, then the states should play right back and force him to pay for COMPETENT legal defenses on multiple fronts when he's short fucking money.

But that would require actual coordination of democrats and their resources as well as some fucking balls. Because subpoenaing some phone records of the cells and offices and homes of those Wayne County canvassers and doing some depositions about anyone who acted as an intermediary isn't that fucking hard to make waves. It just takes some forethought and some stones.

Now that Trump is realizing that he will not win the election in the judicial branch, I assume it's now about getting states to override the voters is next. Now we're at the mercy of GOP politicians standing up to Trump.  Not encouraging.

This could turn into Dems using the judiciary to prevent GOP state leaders from flipping the vote.

This could turn into armed citizens "encouraging" Republican representatives to not destroy American democracy.

Biden is not Donald Trump.

Biden is not going to make his AG investigate Trump or put pressure on NY AG to crush Trump.

Biden is not going to call Nancy Pelosi and tell her to start fucking with Trump.

Biden is a grown ass adult inheriting a crisis.

Agree, partially agree, disagree, agree

He won't publicly or directly pressure NY AG but will make it known what he wants.

He's not gonna tweet at Pelosi and tell her to do that but they will come to an understanding on some level of attack.

No, he wont. You must not know much about Joe. He is going to use DJT as a tool to negotiate with republicans and actually try to get some shit done. If he goes scorched earth or is involved at all in any of the clown show it ties him to it instead of being the guy potentially pulling people out.

I'm sorry to say that, while what he was pushing is bullshit of the purest ray serene, he was pretty fucking smooth with his basic argument.

He even got the motion to dismiss "standard" (not standard of review) correct at the outset.  The normal one.  Calling it a standard of review and strict or normal scrutiny is kind of off, I'm not sure where that came from.

Bullshit isn’t smooth, it’s still complete lies. That’s all it is.

It certainly can be.

The impression left by the tweets was that he was a bumbling fool as he frequently appears on TV.  He was not.

He very likely withered under some questioning by the judge, but that isn't quite like cross-examination.  Most judges go pretty easy on the attorneys in terms of actually belittling them or making fools of them.  The pointed question and stammering answer or non-answer is all they need.

He's totally fucking insane.  I was really caught short after he started representing the Covington kid and raving like a loon.  Based on the Jewell case, I had been impressed, previously.

The number of ostensibly smart attorneys that have been compromised by Trump brain worms is truly impressive/horrifying.  Really moreso than the compromise of the GOP.

YES PLEASE MAGA TURN ON KEMP.

2022 can complete Georgia's turn into the next Virginia/Colorado when Abrams wins the governorship.

when this fails, who can they blame next ?

Everyone who is not MAGA.  That's the problem.  They are being told that 1) it is surefire, and cannot fail as a matter of law and fact, ipso facto QED MAGA, 2) so the only way it CAN fail is if the fix is in, and the non-MAGAs are breaking the law, and illegitimately stealing the election.

In one fell swoop, the regime is finally establishing the fascist endgame -- all people who are not 100% loyal to the regime and doing its bidding without question (seriously, see them turning on even Brian Kemp) are actually enemies of the state, and should be treated as such.

This is exactly how you end up with another OKC bombing.....maybe multiple ones.  They are fomenting violent resistance, intentionally.
