I’m sorry but I just can’t read about Miami without acknowledging the most humiliating thing I have ever witnessed on the football field, yet one of the funniest.

We here on Surly would've fired McWilliams after that game if the internets as we know it today existed back then.  Would love to see this happen to aggy on Saturday and see some of the Corp try to confront a Miami player in the name of protecting the honor of Kyle Field.

Mizzou, that didn’t have a functional offense against A&M. Quite the feat to be able to grind them down.

Starting a freshman QB in his 2nd game.  BTW, Mizzou rushed for over 200 years in that game at over 6 YPC when they were fielding a QB that everyone knew wasn't a threat.

This A&M team is getting more run for beating up on the bottom half of the conference than any team in recent memory.

ND was a good win.  It was game 2 and absolutely needed some fortunate breaks to get the W, but it was a quality win.  But that's the list.

I can't help but think that Miami wins by double digits.

this is where Im at .

Is Miami better than Texas ? I don't think so. But they've somehow played a much better schedule with a more seasoned QB.

Yea Beck and Crystalball do some absolute dumb shit, but its aggy we're talking about Aggy here .

They have done nothing to show they are beyond Miami's capabilities, very injured

They never shut up.

Never.

Never ever.

Like really ever.  Even when they suck they run their mouths.  It is so on brand.  Biggest inferiority complex in college sports.

aggy was fortunate to get out of South Bend with a win.  If the Domers had pulled the game out, the conversation about them would've been different a few weeks ago and the debate might have been does a two win aggy get in over ND.

And if South Carolina and their coach who should've been shown the door after that game had not celebrated an early win against aggy and had his team play a full four, aggy would've been a three loss team probably in Florida too playing in the Pop Tarts Bowl.

Two additional loses aggy managed to pull victory from the jaws of defeat.

Very non-Aggie conduct.  They usually find a way to Aggie it up.  They didn't this year.  Elko seems to be a much better coach than I thought, and Reed, despite his limitations, has been serviceable this year.  Based on a century of roller coaster consistency, I expected them to drop off, except that they didn't (UT game notwithstanding).  I do not expect a U blowout this weekend.

I'll give Elko his due credit for sure.   He and his staff definitely had their team ready to play this year and got the players they needed through the portal to help out Reed unlike Sark who did the exact opposite.

But our win over them kind of made some aggy unsure of themselves going into this game, having it  at Kyle not withstanding.    Some of them knew like OU, they got the benefit of playing a schedule that on paper looked stronger at the beginning of the year vs where it ended.

They can carry the cotton in Fed-Ex envelopes since that is the only time when they were making the Cotton Bowl on a consistent basis.

Those two teams are also miserable chokers. It had nothing to do with them somehow overcoming their Aggieness. You seem to just be overlooking how absolute garbage you have to be to get that far down to SC to begin with. Is that great coaching?

I am not sure what you are looking at. This praise seems misplaced to me. Maybe Sark is coach of the year for coming back against a garbage Mississippi State team? Please.

I am SHOCKED that online voting is a major factor in aggy winning something.

I didn’t say anything about “winning”….I used the term “got themselves”, which fits better.

Aggies elevate Wiggins to OC with Klein heading to K-State

Associated Press     Dec 15, 2025

COLLEGE STATION, Texas -- Holmon Wiggins has been promoted to offensive coordinator for Texas A&M.

Wiggins, who was the co-offensive coordinator and wide receivers coach, will take over for Collin Klein, who was recently hired as Kansas State's coach following the retirement of Chris Klieman.

Klein will remain with the Aggies throughout the College Football Playoff and coach Mike Elko said Monday that he will continue to call plays despite the promotion of Wiggins.

Seventh-seeded Texas A&M will make its playoff debut Saturday when the Aggies host No. 10 seed Miami.

Elko said they interviewed multiple people for the job before landing on Wiggins.

"Really felt like the right person for the job was Holmon Wiggins," Elko said. "We've elevated him to the offensive coordinator position, and he's the only person we offered the job to. ... We felt that was the best thing for Texas A&M football moving forward."

Before joining Elko at Texas A&M last season, Wiggins spent five seasons at Alabama as the wide receivers coach and also served as the assistant head coach of offense for his final three seasons there.

The move comes after Elko promoted Lyle Hemphill from associate head coach for defense to defensive coordinator Friday after Jay Bateman was hired for the same role at Kentucky. Bateman will also remain with the Aggies through the playoffs.

And this guy might come to A&M to assist with offense...

Sources: Texas A&M targeting experienced play-caller for offensive support staff

By Zach Barnett      Dec 15, 2025

Texas A&M is targeting Brad Cornelson for a senior role on its offensive support staff, sources told FootballScoop on Monday.

Cornelson would be expected to support newly-minted offensive coordinator Holmon Wiggins, who was formally elevated from wide receivers coach to coordinator on Monday following Colin Klein's acceptance of the Kansas State head coaching position.

Wiggins and Cornelson worked together on Justin Fuente's Memphis and Virginia Tech staffs from 2012-18; Cornelson coached the quarterbacks and served as the offensive coordinator at Virginia Tech, while Wiggins coached the wide receivers at both spots. Wiggins left after the 2018 season to coach wide receivers on Nick Saban's Alabama staff in 2019, while Cornelson remained at Virginia Tech through the end of Fuente's run in 2021.

Cornelson then spent 2023-24 as the offensive coordinator at Sam Houston, and led the Bearkats to a win over Georgia Southern in the 2024 New Orleans Bowl after KC Keeler took the Temple job. He spent the 2025 season as the head coach at Enid High School in Oklahoma.

Cornelson was the offensive coordinator at Northeastern State, a Division II school in Oklahoma, from 2009-11.

Wiggins, a former New Mexico running back who has been in coaching since 2003, will be a first-time offensive coordinator for the Aggies in 2026.
