That's on you brother.

No announcer has ever ruined my semi at the rose.

Side note:

Can we all agree that the yellow rose is a national treasure?

I mean, I've gotten older.

The neighborhood has gentrified and gotten more expensive.

Austin is now a major city that's 'cool'.

But the yellow rose and the dude bathroom attendant remain the same.

There's something so comforting about that.

And you can do with your hands what you like and the girls aren't all up in arms about it.

As much as we all may have dunked on the LHN over the years, I realize I am gonna miss it when it’s gone. In fact, after watching the post game show and bestowing of awards (which we watch after every game) mdmost and I actually went back and scrolled through the pregame show mainly to look for any “best of” montages and they didn’t disappoint plus they seemed to be in an especially festive mood for this last home game which (after a 50 point ass kicking) made it extra fun. I realize I will really miss it post-games in particular.

Well give it to them instead of shutting it down. Just transfer the network to the SEC and rebrand it SEC Longhorns or something

I'll miss the graduation ceremonies. Got to see a couple of distant relatives that way.

Having a network has been awesome and losing it is going to suck. Those who have wanted it to go away are idiots.

Would've been better if they'd allowed it to show UIL games.

Also would've been better if it hadn't existed during a horrible 15-year period of Longhorn football.

Also also would've been better if I could've actually gotten the channel without paying $200/mo for a TV subscription.

The worst thing about our fanbase was the fact that people complained about having our own network

fuck yall, pieces of fucking shit

Nah. I think most of us have been pleased about the fact, but absolutely pissed about the implementation. Between the often bizarre choices of offerings, the less-than-stellar network personnel, and the ridiculously shitty availability, ESPN did an incredibly poor job.

The University should have a super-high quality of network offerings, not just in sports, but across the spectrum of academics. Maybe we will have it some day, but don't hold your breath.

Would have not cared if LHN was available on more TV providers, but I certainly won't miss having to scramble to find a way to watch a football game that was on LHN only. Would have been fine with PPV even.

With the continuing rise of re-streamers, it honestly wasn't all that difficult to find the football games. other sports... no streams mostly.

ESPN screwed the pooch on the thing - making LHN access dependent on the "cable" provider paying for a single stream, basically, was incredibly stupid. I don't think I'm alone in feeling like I would have been perfectly happy - well, at least amenable, anyway - to have a choice of paying ESPN directly for access... maybe $5 or $10 a month.

ESPN has clearly missed the boat here, and it strikes me as being very similar to the newspapers clinging tightly to their paradigm of dead trees, semi-exclusivity of information, advertising and subscription. It looks like ESPN is flailing pretty hard right now, eliminating jobs and coverage, so it appears that not many of our hometown heroes will be staying on and becoming SECSECSEC talkers, but perhaps...

Somehow and someway, I'd like to think CDC can find a platform to keep all Longhorn sports out front and visible.   Keeping UT sports visible is good for recruiting.  It's good for the fans.

I think you'll find most non-basketball sports on ESPN+ going forward.

I watch espn+ for college baseball and softball.  It varies widely in quality, with some games looking like LHN/SECN and some games looking like a dad filming a 10U game on his gopro attached to the backstop.

Our conference games on SECN+ (ESPN+) will be high quality productions. It’s OOC games against teams like TXST/Sam/UNT/etc that look like crap

I noticed an OU ESPN+ game branded as sooner vision and thought maybe our streaming stuff on there would be called LHN, but I guess maybe not.

That’s their in-house production name and has been since the 90s and is their branded streaming

All that is going away. All of our rights is ESPN include tier 3. Sooner vision is also going away. Why the fuck are y’all overthinking this. It’s going to be SECN+ or ESPN+

It's all going to get rolled in the new ESPN, FOX, Discovery platform they joined together to roll out this fall. No clue what they'll call it, but yeah will just be direct to consumer offering as well as through bundled providers I'm guessing.

jesus christ. And it was never hard get LHN. Sign up for a provider that had/has it. If you live in an area that didnt have it, boo fucking hoo. Buncha old ass bumpkin broke dicks on here

What we want to have doesn’t fucking matter. We’re going to a conference that has its media rights setup and we will fall in line and be just another team.

Swindell and Moreland are as good any baseball broadcast crew there is anywhere. I hope they work games for SEC Network if they want to.

Maybe wishful thinking, but when Moreland told Swindell during their postgame farewell that he hoped they would work together again .. Keith seemed to have a knowing something facial expression when he looked at Greg.  A verbal wink-wink of sorts.

At least that’s what I’m hoping for …

Does the SECN have a regular A and B team for baseball? I don’t see any reason why Keith and Greg can’t get folded into the SECN. They’re going to need bodies.

I’d imagine every conference game will  be on SECN or SECN+ and every home nonconference game will be on ESPN+. Wash and repeat for softball and volleyball.

all 3 of these in reverse order...

- and so begins the quest to detach the face-hugging @@ deathstar

- in sark we trust

- and the big kahuna: aggy can't do one fucking thing about us owning the UIL; they were going to sue us/ESiPN/Disney/LHN over airing UIL games "with sip branding".....

BUT NOW.......    with no "LHN" to litigate....   and with UIL ***NOT**** part of our Tier 3........

we absolutely need to activate the UIL streaming photon cannon

unencumbered by the LHN albatross, we can use the base url:

https://www.uiltexas.org/

you will note that the the shield of The University is on the header - BECAUSE WE OWN IT BITCHES

we don't need any branding or PMS159C anywhere on the site

that header for every landing page for every streamed high school football game will infest aggy with the cognitive dissonance shingles

make it so
