Some NY house races will likely complicate Dems’ path to keep the House. Unless the west coast comes up back (WA, OR, NM, AZ, CO, CA)

I don’t think it’s happening but 2024 might be better than we thought with a real majority in both chambers and a re-elected biden.

I swear I’ve watched you cherry pick for years it’s like debating here is a sport for you. You come off quite disingenuous to most of us, worthy of completely ignoring you.

Sorry to hear that from you, but carry on raging at rural texas and wondering why the enlightened urban Ds don't get any traction.

Try ranching every summer of your youth through teen years and the fun thing to do was visit the "new mall" in Victoria. Narrator: It wasn't new.

Oh yeah man sounds legit. I'd have to mess with steers all day so my cousins could show them in Bay City at the fair and our reward was getting to drive 30 minutes to see a movie in Port Lavaca.

Fishing was good though

South Texas has its draw, and I get nothing but excited when I turn on 185 and then 35 headed to rockport. Driving across Texas is an absolute favorite thing to do. But the reality is like most of rural America, the world is leaving them behind and it’s sad it’s that way. The slow and simple life isn’t the issue - the piss poor quality of public education, lack of jobs, lack of infrastructure, lack of healthcare, that’s the travesty. That’s why they are shitholes, it’s not the people it’s the fact that politicians take their vote and do nothing for them.

the people in rockport suck. even more so in port oconnor

Beto just needs to change states or go back to the House or Representatives.  He'd easily win his way back to DC, just not in the type of role he wants.

Who would have outperformed him?

I’m glad he ran so at least it was someone running for governor who had appeal and could hopefully give some benefit to down ballot candidates in certain areas.

Trump is the funniest Hitler the simulation has produced so far.

Every time he tears down people like Bolduc for losing because they didn't support The Big Lie, it would be funny if once in a while any of them had even an ounce of pride and went after Trump for costing them the election and/or making fun of him for losing in 2020.

That’s going to be a rough majority to manage.  You’ve got 150 members who want to default on the debt and 25 who mostly want to vote with the Democrats to save their seats.

Had the Dems been a bit more clever about NY and MD resistricting and not pushed nonpartisan redistricting in VA, CO and WA, they would have held the house.

That fucking Cuomo NY court. How they hell can they not anticipate what was going to happen in Florida? Detrumpis is on the warpath. We needed those NY seats to offset Florida. We also need the Supreme Court to not be retarded and award the minority districts to Louisiana and Alabama dems as the law is written.

Meh. I love rural Texas but its not like they have much good to say about us. Kissing their ass isn't going to make us more popular.

Say what you will about Henry Cuellar but he’s facefucking Trump/Cruz backed Cassy Garcia right now. I thought there was no way in hell that district wouldn’t flip red. She’s down about 12 percentage points now but only 67% of precincts have reported so she still has a bit of a shot.

We’re getting a 50-50 Senate and 218-217 House lol.

Republicans with such a small majority would be morbidly fascinating. Say what you will about Pelosi, but McCarthy is nowhere near her equal in whipping votes.

Pelosi has never lost a vote on the house floor. Paul Ryan lost a vote seemingly every week. I expect similar incompetence from McCarthy.

Dem party mostly hates him but his district loves him, he raises a lot of money and fits his district.

Local news. The far right nutjobs who took over dfw area school district boards in 2020 were soundly defeated in Round Rock ISD. They funded candidate s for all 5 open seats and lost all 5 races.

After touting their 11 races, 11 wins accomplishment in 2020, I am pleasantly surprised.

Came here to check that this was posted.

the PAC was "One Family Round Rock" and they got a LOT of out of state funding. They had signs and ads EVERYWHERE.

And "soundly defeated" doesn't quite capture it. They were fucking destroyed by anywhere from 20 to 28 percentage points.

It is the people.  They vote for their representatives.  How stupid do they have to be to continuously vote against their self interest?  Hey everybody, we've been stuck out at sea for awhile, and we've decided there's really nothing left to do now but drill holes in the boat.

Probably no one, but he can't just keep losing elections if he wants to make this state or country better.  He's got to get into an office where he can do something and build his resume back up.

The entire GOP party is full of fucking pussies that are afraid of the orange man and what he might do to them. I think its great he's running. that fucking buffoon is the best thing the Dems have going.

It’s amazing the statewide Texas races seemed to be more in favor of the GQP than ever before. There’s no turning purple for Texas, ever.

The Dems need to figure out how to win the Hispanic vote back, energize the youth, up their turnout etc...  The GOP has made big gains in the latino vote in the last decade or so.  The state can be purple, but it would require a great deal of competence.  I'm not sure the Dems have it in them.

Same thing up in Wylie as well - similar slate of far-right candidates with outside funding - and they were all soundly defeated, even in a relatively conservative community.

That just means he'll never bring anything to the floor for a vote and completely neglect his duty as a legislator

Hispanics went MAGA. They culturally value false bravado and Christian theocracy for the most part.

Or; They like making money and reject social equity promises because their world experience does not show this line of thinking to be realistic or attainable. We Cubans have lived the true side of socialist agendas and reject that bullshit for what it is. You will find this is the case with Central Americans, Mexicans and the rest of the Hispanics who have made their way here largely by working, and not working the system.
Side note; I am quite embarrassed that 44% of my fellow Texans continue to run some Irish kid who changes his name to Beto for political gain. You fuckers are less self aware than the nazis in BCS.

I mean all it takes is a candidate who is actually electable. Beto is fucking garbage one of the worst candidates in a while. Worse than a literal potato.
