The Democrats can basically sit back and watch for the next year and then campaign on every single fuck up by the GOP - assuming we still have elections.

Sounds like a way to passively lose. But by golly we'll be right.

Greenland is going to be even more strategic going forward, he’s not wrong on that he’s just completely immoral for trying to grab it from a friend.  The jokes about melting sea ice are closer to the truth— we are getting really close to having almost ice free summers. The Russians are investing heavily in icebreakers in an attempt to make sure the Arctic is their turf.  The PRC is demanding to be allowed into the Arctic Council as a “near arctic nation.”

The high north is going to be valuable from resources to geography and that’s largely due to global warming.

P.S. I’ve never been to Greenland and can’t find it on a map. Don,Jr. says it’s really awesome.

They are going to be shocked when they learn how small it actually is.

As if social media isn't crazy enough.

In the grand scheme of things it's probably a good thing. I'd much rather people assume something on social media is fake rather than have a belief everything has been "fact checked" when that was an impossible task to begin with and has only gotten worse with the expansion of AI.  It will get much closer to water cooler talk where the person telling you the information means as much as the information itself.

Most things in the world I don't know inside out, but what I do know, when I check AI, at least half of the time it's wrong.

Exactly, but often it takes an expert to know and because it can generate some many versions of it so quickly, it's like swatting flies with a toothpick. Just no way to keep up.

If the U.S. is looking to annex all of North America, I am guessing that Russia and China have their own plans and assurances.

The Dems have zero power to actually do anything. Why get in the way of your opponent fucking up?

I never think that. I do agree that they can't come up with any ideas, because of how they think. There's no scrap in them.

Assuming Republicans don't get rid of it, the filibuster is always an option in the Senate.

Garland proved feckless protecting the Constitution, as an insurrectionist about to assume office, without the required supermajority of congressional votes, proves.

Release the report. Arm the citizenry with facts.

Cannon very clearly exceeding her jurisdiction once again to help Trump out.

Only needs to hold up for 13 days, and as we've repeatedly seen, it will work.  Biden just needs to step in and post it himself, with the cover note - "IMMUNE, BITCHES ...".

This thread is a good reminder to go set a trailing stop loss on my IRA and to move my oldest kid's 529 into the FDIC-insured option before the 20th.

Plenty of people have lost out on profits by trading based on politics. Be careful.

(I get the concept of a trailing stop loss, but that can trigger and then run up 20%.)

What’s the point of tariffs against Mexico and Canada if we are just going to attack and annex them?

We’re gonna build a war. And mexico is gonna pay for it. With tariffs. And fiscal austerity.
