Ok, having the Air Force’s chief of staff admit out loud they named the airplane after Trump is fucking insane.  We have truly veered into Turkmenbashi territory.

Ok, , I will be the anti-doom human. Gonna tag a few. If I forgot you, well meh.

We are UT. What starts here and all that shit.

We fight with kindness. We fight with what we were raised with. Open a door for someone at a cafe or bar. Be kind.

I ran an experiment today. I bought flowers and walked through a diverse crowed. I handed out flowers to people who seemed sad, perplexed, alone. I had one dude get pissed, he backed off (I did not see him but his "date" wanted to give me her number). And yeah, I had a big ass friend with me who backs this concept. And he is an Aggie (only time I will spell it that way.) Yeah, a simple act.

We are in this together.

So here is my challenge. Let's not be doom. Let us walk off the ledge @Brisketexan and realize, we win if we smile while silently thinking. Let our neighbor know I am here. Go give someone a flower. Just that.

Lets get ready, but right now, lets be kind and wow them with kindness. MLK, Mandela, Ghandi.

Let us hold hands. Simple shit.

@BurntEyes @bolverk @atomheartbevo @Nivek @Rex Kramer @Schulz2.0

Bring on the negs. Don't care. I like Bolivia.

I have done this.  I have been the bigger person and embraced kindness and overlooked trespasses and judgement.   But boundaries are healthy for one to have as well.   And for some of us, we see this as a form of tough love to others.  Let them face the consequences of their actions.   Let them start down the path of self-exploration to discover the root cause in their psyche that helped shape this reality they are in.

My sister’s husband is like what you’re describing, bolverk. Bright guy that is just lost. Mutters democrats but doesn’t finish his thought. Just keeps saying stuff like that, with an occasional Biden and then nothing else. Anytime there’s a really long pause in a conversation, that is not even remotely politically based, damn Democrats. Brain is just broken. Needs to flush it like a radiator on one of the cars he’s forever working on.

this is absolutely whats happening. Its going to snowball fast. Now its random people here and there to seed the fear, then once you have an infraction (violence, riots, whatever) its the big ass crackdown. My only thoughts are wondering if its 2025 or 2026. Probably the latter as need more pain before any infractions take place.

I am advising my legal resident green card holding family member to leave this year and not come back. They were already detaining him and harassing him regularly at IAH going back some 15 years. Said family member is overseas now and I am advising them its playing with a loaded gun coming back through. Sure, you could argue stats and probabilities, but again, pretty sure thats a 2025 argument.

And the beat goes on. Hope you homies are well and staying nuke free.

Attack the judiciary. Ignore instructions that go against what you want to do. Threaten impeachment. Highlight the judges that are the problem.

Purge the upper echelon of the military. Install loyalists.

Purge the domestic security forces. Promote and install loyalists.

Threaten congressional members with the end of their political career if they don't fall in line.

Coerce the media by various means to either not criticize, soft pedal the criticism, or otherwise shut it down.

It's the beginning of a real dystopia. I mean, we all see it. I'm preaching to the choir on this message board. I guess I find myself looking around hoping somebody else stops it.

That ain’t wrong. We invited friends and family from several countries to come visit for the World Cup - planning on renting houses, showing them a Texas good time, all that.
They are already being negatively impacted by this admin (see post above about revoked school admission). They are justifiably nervous about coming here.

I went to the 2010 World Cup in South Africa and that was like some 1980’s Michael Jackson “we are the world” shit. Tourists from all over the world were having an amazing time.

The 2026 World Cup is going to be a 5 alarm fire. The orange mushroom penis is going to declare war against the other two hosts and any international tourist coming to America (which will be like 95% less than expected) is subject to getting a finger up their butthole and their cell phone hacked.

We've visited friends in Germany a couple of times and they were quite excited about visiting us in California.  Their daughters had never been to the US.  All of those plans were cancelled after the election and the resulting chaos.  That's one small anecdote, but I suspect it represents one data point in a much larger trend.

How long has that project been going on and how much support has the 47th President given to it in 60 days?

Tech demonstrators started flying in 2019. Towards the end of Biden, the entire NGAD program was paused to let the new admin make decisions.  The crewed fighter is just a part of it that includes loyal wingman and other UAS.

This was literally just the Pentagon naming something after him to get it across the finish line of approval.  That’s how we do strategy now.

I'm not a particularly experienced south Texas traveler, but I got stopped by border patrol leaving El Paso for Cloudcroft, and they were not thrilled with my drivers license as proof of citizenship.  You could not get more gringo than me.  This was at least 2 decades ago.  I doubt they've gotten more lax.

At this point, I would not travel to the US if I were a foreign citizen.

Don’t worry, we are telling people not to. This is what we are posting for the consumption of the famously illegally immigrating Dutch.

I’ve mentioned on here a couple of times that my wife is currently enrolled in a grad program at a business school in France. Her cohort, of which she is one of three Americans enrolled, is scheduled to visit NYC this fall. She’s pretty sure that will be canceled and they will instead meet in Paris as there are a lot of rumblings amongst the non-Americans that they are not comfortable traveling to the U.S.

I'm part of a Friends of Big Bend NP group on Facebook. It's mostly pictures from vacations... I like being a part of it despite there being MAGA representation. Watching them justify cuts to NPS and BBNP while being in a group called Friends of Big Bend National Park is somehow predictable and disappointing at the same time.

Someone with not 100% citizen status asked about traveling to the park. A number of MAGA replied, "Just have all your papers, you'll be fine." They were completely serious and unironic. They probably typed it without even thinking about it.

America used to make jokes about countries that required papers in order to travel. Nazi Germany, Stasi Berlin, Apartheid South Africa, Black Codes Louisiana, Trump Big Bend BP.

Just have your papers, and you'll be fine.

Yeah, I follow that page.

I'm fairly sure the original post (which was anonymous) was trolling or meant to the a response. If that's the case mission accomplished. The comments (before they were turned off), were as expected.

I've seen Big Bend Times. While I agree with the viewpoint, it's a little too much Babylon Bee vibe for my tastes.

It’s pretty standard practice for some clearances and investigations in the IC and security world.  It’s eyebrow raising for it to be announced and for them to claim in one breath that the information isn’t real and fake and in the next claim that it was classified national security information.  This isn’t the only place they are making that argument.

image.thumb.png.ff27ec26421d55d188045e865c7bab86.png

Needless to say, telling a reporter bullshit and claiming it’s classified isn’t a leak and it isn’t a crime.  It could be unethical but there are other tools to use.

Because America has no history of ever tearing up papers supplied by freemen so that they could be resold.  Bad people do bad things, and we have a history of putting bad people in positions of authority.  Have your papers, and a camera/recording device, because it's your word against the authority. There's a reason America wants to rewrite its past.

Looks like a Gary Peterson pic.

Can you imagine what Fox etc. would do to a democratic president who publicly demanded that a portrait of them be taken down? I mean, you could apply that to almost anything he does, but still.

You won’t see @realgreggym post on here again. He’s still reading the board, but like the rest of the cult members that post on here he’s a coward. Somebody needs to tell Sean Miller that if 70-something old white has been, that played basketball at UT in an era no one cares about, tries to befriend any current basketball players to just give him the PNG treatment. He’ll be their friend to their face while calling them and their families libtards and other fun words in private.
