My kid is scheduled to graduate from there in 2028.  I hope the dotard is out of the picture before that day arrives.  I doubt Vance will be any better policy wise, but good fucking lord the current guy is a mess.

In those clips it sounds like there are about 5 people clapping.  I assume that's his Secret Service detail and maybe a couple of hangers-on?

my god. we have family that graduated from WP...i just keep thinking how it must feel to have achieved such an incredible goal, what an amazing, unique honor, how incredibly proud one wants and deserves to feel...and to have the incredible once in a lifetime event turned into some incoherent clownshow, babbling malignant nonsense knowing he literally thinks they are all suckers and losers...like wtf man! SO embarrassing and shameful. i feel really bad for those students! can you even opt out of commencement at the service academies?? what a load of shit.

same with the Medal of Freedom or Kennedy Center Honors...he cheapens and destroys the integrity of literally EVERYTHING.

he is so fucking gross. i hate him so much. just die already you disgusting piece of shit. iswis.

They learn decorum, bearing, command, discipline while getting a top notch education.

Their Commander Clown-in-Chief shows up in a garish red cap to spew idiocy, jingoism, and drivel with no regard to the document these men and women have sworn an oath to.

Bring on a military junta that then surrenders power like George Washington did once the traitors are rooted out and hanged.

As President Trump said, democracy imposed at gunpoint. That's an order.

They have been reminded a lot more times this semester that they took an oath to the Constitution and not a person or office than they were in the fall semester.  I wonder why?

This is fake news. I have it on good authority from informed Surly posters that the entire legal community has bent the knee to Trump.

First, that never happened except in cases of obvious hyperbole.  Second, the firms that have stood up to the dotard have been praised and their actions applauded.

But let's recap the surly myopic legal reaction over the course of the last few months:

First news of sanctions against specific firms comes out:  Surly legal myopic reaction, "Clown show, this will never stand up.  Those firms will ignore this stupid order."

A few weeks later, the first wave of firms cave:  Surly legal myopic reaction, "Meh, they'll throw some interns onto dotard's pet cases, bill at millions of bucks an hour and be out from under his thumb with no harm done."

A few weeks later when more firms bend the knee"  Surly legal myopic reaction, "Oh well, there's really nothing they could do."

So in sum, stuff it old man.

So much of Trumpism is exposing recent American conservatism as just a complete sham that it's really throwing some people that are so thoroughly immersed in a traditional conservative milieu.

Yup. My dad, until recently a lifelong Republican loyalist, admitted that Trump helped him see “the ugliness” of his own politics.

So let’s review: as always, you have no information about the number of attorneys in America who supported Trump in the fashion you insist is, if not somewhat universal, is at least some unknown statistical significant number.   You have stated exactly zero times how many firms in the country agreed to help Trump when compared to the number of firms that exist - let alone the number of firms that have not agreed to help Trump.

The fact that you think that four or five Big Law firms initially tried to appease Trump (which led to partners and associates and clients leaving) somehow supports your opinion that the legal community in general is taking the knee to Trump is as blissfully stupid as saying three undocumented mexicans robbed somebody in Texas, which means the other Mexicans in Louisiana will probably rob me.   Here is a clue: when the news talks about a handful of cases because they are in the business of getting readers and clicks, that does not mean that the handful of cases discussed represent any meaningful percentage of whatever group was discussed in the article.

Everything about your post is your stupid feelings being projected into an opinion that is essentially worthless as a valid barometer for saying what the legal community does or doesn’t do.

It is always fascinating to watch you supposed anti-Trumpers absolutely employ MAGA logic thinking in your anti-lawyer arguments. But carry on if it makes you feel good.

But you are correct that there’s a lot of fake news out there. They keep reporting about federal judges issuing injunctions on the things that Trump is trying to do.  That cannot be, as everyone has taken the knee, and the federal judges cannot issue injunctions unless an anti-Trump lawyer requests one. And since there are no lawyers opposing Trump, it has to be false that the judges are granting those injunction requests.

Thank you for your attention.

Can you not read?  I laid it out tight here:

Apparently the dotard isn’t the only senior citizen in this thread with hallucinatory ramblings.

The fact that the military hasn’t turned on this piece of shit is maybe the most concerning thing. He shirsnon them makes it about himself and they still follow. Un fucking believable.

You're surprised a group of people, intentionally brainwashed and conditioned to follow out any order no matter how violent and unjust, are sheep following orders?

Why does the MAGA hat at West Point piss me off so much? I obviously know he’s an anti-America, self promoting piece of shit but seeing that made my BP jump.

Can you imagine the con outrage if Obama wore a cap while addressing WP graduates?

Injunctions that are not honored in too many cases. While I’m not condemning the legal profession as a whole, it is past time for contempt declarations and jail time  until compliant. Forgive me if I think federal judges are reluctant to know what will occur if they exercise their power,

Interesting.... How exactly will this sort of conduct be policed by the IRS?

Every lawyer I know has at least joked about “discounting our rate to $10 an hour if you tip is $490 an hour” or something to that effect.
It’s so fucking stupid.

The higher Republicans can push the national debt, the greater the number of idiots who will support the unraveling of society’s safety net.

I have to say a few of these surprised me (Shapiro). Zuckerburg dropped out.  Also, that's the old WH press bimbo, not the current one.

I found something online that said only the first $25K of tips wouldn't be taxed, and that it was really just a ploy to get people to fully report their income. Save them a little on the front end, to tax them more on the back.

It was online, so I figured it must be true. Would appreciate any actual expertise.
