on a side note, I hate Lee Greenwood.

I love the fact that he has to play that shitty song every time he performs.  He probably thinks it's great, though.

Biden said he thought of Robert Byrd (former KKK member) as a mentor. Among other things….

Kamala literally used his past comments against him in her campaign so I don’t really wanna hear all this shit.

What does this whataboutism have to do with your deferring to half the country in determining whether Charlie Kirk was a racist?

Finally figured out exactly what is wrong with Kirk's assertion that the Civil Rights Act and affirmative action created this "diminished expectation" against minority "achievers."  That is, the assumption that black or other minorities in positions of authority or skill are not as qualified as their white male peers.

Prior to the civil rights act and affirmative action/DEI, there would have been an explicit assumption that a negro could not be an airline pilot, both on the part of the airlines and others who hire pilots and their passengers.  So, you never would have seen a black pilot in the first place and if you did people wouldn't be just saying "hmmm," they'd be freaking out.

Like the guy in Gangs of New York.

It's never about the truth with right wingers, narrative is all that matters. And they don't like the narrative that a white kid from Utah wanted to kill Charlie Kirk.

There's a term for that.

There's a grocery store I go to where they seem to have a separate PA for the entry area/airlock/grocery carts that has that song on repeat.

Wife refuses to shop there; I only go to buy a select offering of things I can't find anywhere else.  We call it the Trump Grocery Store.

Cardinal Dolan is already of mandatory retirement age and had already submitted his resignation to the Pope in February. Typical r-worded reaction from MAGA.

This is correct but my understanding is that these "replacements" simply get done at the pope's discretion and can take quite a bit of time to actually be made. Wonder if this has been fast-tracked due to what Dolan said on Fox & Friends last week. If so, FAFO.

Yeah my understanding is they continue to serve until the Pope decides on a replacement. So yeah, probably a FAFO.

Can't stand when stores wrap themselves in the flag or song in this case. Full on virtue signaling to attract the rubes.

Variations of this sermon were preached in hundreds of black churches all across the country over the last two weeks.

They should have been preached in all churches.  But we know they weren't.

Just thought it was a little hypocritical.

My wife made the same observation about the flyer -- Charlie Kirk, you know the dude they were honoring, wasn't pictured on the goddamn flyer.

Yep

Fuck that pussy-ass statement from Disney still calling the comments "ill-timed and thus insensitive." They were neither of those.
