Dana Bash on CNN just now:  Pelosi has been assured by senior members of the pentagon that Trump will have no access to the nuclear codes for the remainder of his term.

I mean, thats great.  However it is just another fucking example of why the fat fuck needs to be put out on the street.

If that conversation needs to be had.....then we are WELL past the point of needing the 25th or impeachment.  If the CINC cannot be trusted with the force of the US military -- and it's beyond question that he cannot -- then he must be removed.  Period.  Full stop.

No. They do NOT get to play act like they didn’t gleefully go along with Trump’s bullshittery.

McCarthy is a pathetic simpering cocksucker.  He DOES accurately describe a nation in collapse and crisis in his last paragraph.....yet he voted for and continues to remain willing to do everything within his power (and even beyond his power) to ensure that the pathetic POS POTUS who oversaw all of those things turning to shit GETS ANOTHER FOUR YEARS TO FUCK US EVEN MORE.

Fuck you, McCarthy.  You hypocritical traitor.

- Do not make excuses for Pelosi

But also don't assume nothing is happening because Surly isn't in on the internal discussions

Wow, they’re moving so rapidly!

This is like the fake tough guy at the bar begging someone to hold him back.

This is the perfect comparison, because that guy is desperately hoping someone else will step in and resolve the problem.

Unfortunately, they can impeach him all they want. He's still president until January 20th unless the Senate convicts. Don't hold your breath.

Senate Rs would have the opportunity to render him ineligible for future office. Seems like that would be in their self interest, politically, and as a party.

I guess all that’s left of the GOP are dreams and vapors of trump.

The fundraising arm of a group led by Georgia Attorney General Chris Carr called on supporters of President Donald Trump to march to the U.S. Capitol Wednesday to “stop the steal” following the “Save America” rally that preceded the deadly riots in Washington.

A spokeswoman for Carr said the Attorney General ”unequivocally had no knowledge or involvement” in the robocall and “is working diligently to determine how this situation occurred and ensure that it does not happen again.”

The recorded call encouraged Trump supporters to go to the Capitol Wednesday to demand that Congress block certification of the 2020 election, which Joe Biden won, including the results in Georgia.

“At 1 p.m., we will march to the Capitol building and call on Congress to stop the steal,” the robocall said. “We are hoping patriots like you will join us to continue to fight to protect the integrity of our elections.”

The call concludes, “This call is paid for and authorized by the Rule of Law Defense Fund.”

The Rule of Law Defense Fund is the policy and fundraising arm of the Republican Attorneys General Association, a powerful advocacy group for GOP state attorneys general that Carr chairs. RAGA works to coordinate conservative legal strategies at the state level, while RLFD is charged with electing Republicans to the powerful state-level posts.

On Wednesday, RLDF was also listed as one of several sponsors of the “Save America” rally, where the president instructed tens of thousands of supporters on the national mall to “stop the steal” of the November election.

In a statement, the executive director of RAGA said the group did not sponsor the rally and that RLDF staff made the decision to support the event where Trump falsely insisted that he had won “by a landslide,” including in Georgia.

“The Republican Attorneys General Association and Rule of Law Defense Fund had no involvement in the planning, sponsoring, or the organization of Wednesday’s event,” said Adam Piper. “No Republican AG authorized the staff’s decision to amplify a colleague speaking at the event. Organizationally and individually, we strongly condemn and disavow the events which occurred.”

Seeing this happen to Lindsey and Mitt....   Why the hell wouldn't you have a membership to one of the Airlines' Sky Rooms?   Far better chance of being left the hell alone.

*  Not saying that Lindsey doesn't deserved every bit of shit he gets hurled at him.   By good people on both sides.  🤣

Declare war on who?  Trump?  Republicans? In the words of our new President, C’mon man.  Pelosi is being deliberate, she hasn’t suggested anywhere that she won’t bring the articles forward, she’s just trying to get Trump to cut his own throat and resign, or have Pence 25th him because both are quicker and a more likely way to have him removed from office. Impeachment will pass the house, and it will more than likely die in the senate. That doesn’t mean the dems shouldn’t do it, but if the goal is to remove shitface from office, the first two are the only real paths to complete that goal.

The GOP gladly opened up pandoras box and now they have to deal directly with the ramifications. Sadly, so do the rest of our country. Never forget.

This is wrong regardless of side that does it. I felt bad when it happened to Romney but I just don't feel bad about it happening to this douche since he actively participated in creating this mess.

I also don't know how everyone expects it to be passed today when they aren't even in session again until....Monday. She clearly has given Trump and Pence a deadline (today) to resign/25th that fat fuck or it's the first order of business on Monday.

You're not going to be able to call everyone back to DC in a couple of hours considering they went home yesterday.  I'm also very okay with letting them have some time with their family, considering they were just under attack by an angry mob of inbred regards and feared for their lives.

That would also have worked if it were Democrats harassing him.  Talk about both sides.

On Wednesday, RLDF was also listed as one of several sponsors of the “Save America” rally, where the president instructed tens of thousands of supporters on the national mall to “stop the steal” of the November election.

Spoiler

In a statement, the executive director of RAGA said the group did not sponsor the rally and that RLDF staff made the decision to support the event where Trump falsely insisted that he had won “by a landslide,” including in Georgia.

“The Republican Attorneys General Association and Rule of Law Defense Fund had no involvement in the planning, sponsoring, or the organization of Wednesday’s event,” said Adam Piper. “No Republican AG authorized the staff’s decision to amplify a colleague speaking at the event. Organizationally and individually, we strongly condemn and disavow the events which occurred.”

Several requests for comment about the robocalls went unanswered.

In his hour-long speech at the rally in the shadow of the Capitol Wednesday, Trump raged against Georgia’s election results and ripped into Gov. Brian Kemp and Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger.

“They defrauded us out of a win in Georgia and we’re not going to take it,” Trump said, adding later of Kemp and Raffensperger, “These people are crooked. They’re 100% in my opinion, one of the most corrupt. Between your governor and your secretary of state.”

In Carr’s role as Georgia’s attorney general, it has been his job to defend Georgia’s elections in court challenges against the state’s elections.

The liberal investigative watch-dog group Documented first reported RLDF’s connection to Wednesday’s events.

The “Save America” rally brought tens of thousands of Trump supporters to Washington looking to overturn the 2020 election, which Trump has repeatedly and wrongly claimed was fraudulent.

He has targeted Georgia Republicans for his most aggressive criticism and relentlessly assaulted Kemp and Raffensperger for refusing to overturn the state’s November elections.

After the president’s remarks, supporters from the rally marched toward the Capitol at the president’s encouragement. Once there, more than one thousand broke through barricades, clashed with Capitol Police, and ransacked the Capitol, the seat of the U.S. government.

The mayhem temporarily stopped the process of certifying the election for Biden and sent members of Congress, staff and the media into lockdown.

Five people died as a result of the mele, including a Capitol Police officer.

Carr released a statement Wednesday condemning the violence at the Capitol.

On Friday, his spokeswoman added, “The stance of the protestors was not consistent with Attorney General Carr’s position on election fraud. And, as he has been saying since moments after seeing news break, the violence and destruction we saw at the U.S. Capitol is unacceptable and un-American. He believes any individual involved in the violence should be held accountable and prosecuted.”

Impeachment also furthers that goal.  Not that I have any faith in the GOP in the Senate, but drop this on their lap.  Make them take a position.  And because they're invertebrates, maybe if they actually have to take a position, they'll lean on Pence to invoke the 25th or Trump to resign.
