Identifying Trump rioters

I don't think he does. If he pardons a bunch of people the FBI and DOJ are actively pursuing, he'll open himself up to even more legal issues as there will be an all out effort to find something that either bankrupts him or send him to prison. The Georgia AG is already looking into election tampering. DC will want to go after him. PA and WI might want to jump in too.

Another factor to consider is how Trump demands absolute loyalty. There are a number of reports of these insurrectionists using the "but President Trump told me to" defense, so I highly doubt he will respond with anything but a stubby middle finger.

I mean, that's exactly what a rational person would think, so I don't get your point.

Baked Alaska's real name is Anthime Joseph Gionet, and he's an insurrectionist and apparently Anthime Joseph Gionet is not just a violent insurrectionist but a clueless dumbass who believes everything Donald Trump says.

He doesn't sound like a dumbasth.

If there were so many Antifa running roughshod over the Capitol, why didn't the MAGA Patriot Warriors stomp their guts out?

above from aqua is from the main breach thread from wednesday but it made me think of something.... brock claims he wore tac to the capitol because he was afraid of getting hurt by antifa....  but i don't recall seeing any claims of antifa until the protest turned violent.   so if he can't produce any social media or comms timestamped prior to the time he was on the grounds which 'warned' him of the threat of antifa violence at the capitol, is 'explanation' is bullshit and he should be in custody not sitting at home with an ankle monitor.

This would be all good tough talk from the prosecutors.  But, the reality is that they cannot possibly take all these people to trial.  I think the number is expected to be 300 or so?  There aren't 300 jury trial slots in the D DC open over the next probably three years.  Even a one-day trial takes a minimum of about three days, and that probably equates to a week.  They're not going to blow those trial slots on misdemeanors.  Not even if it was just 100.

This is why the plea bargain is the dominant mode of resolving criminal cases in every court in America.

Also, federal plea policy requires the defendant to plead to the highest/most severe offense charged.  And, practically, having the two overlapping misdemeanors charged would not enhance the sentence in comparison to a conviction or plea to just one of the offenses.

None of that is to say that anyone is going to get off particularly easy here.  But, as things currently stand, most of the charges are misdemeanors with a maximum prison sentence of one year.  People are going to plead guilty and the gubmint is going to accept those pleas, and it will be up to the judge presiding to determine how much of a year they do and what kind of fine they get.

If there was ever a time to "hold their feet to the fire"  that'd be right now, in this instance.

Totally agree/ understand what you're saying.  I wouldn't have a problem if they were a bit...um...methodical in their approach and prosecuted that highest charge at a very deliberate pace.

My wife's family out in the country identifed this jackass, Mark Ary, as being one of the people who stormed the capitol. He and his wife have since removed or shut down all their social media but he had pictures from the capitol before that were screen shot. Feel free to let him know what a traitorous piece of shit he is.

Setting aside her brainwashed gulliblity, she strikes me as someone who viewed it all as a lark. As if one simply says, 'I'm bored. Bored of this pandemic. Bored of being told what to do. I wanna dance."

The private plane, the photos, the outfits. It was the travel agency destination trip of a lifetime: go to DC and see all the sights and instagram for your friends back home. They'll be sooo jealous. "Look what I did over winter break, top this!" and it ends up in the yearbook with all the other cool kids.

So, yeah. She didn't think of the consequences. If she's ever had to face them, in her mind they've never been her fault.

kinda like Jake Spoon getting caught up with the man burners.

McCall Calhoun, Esq., of Americus, Jawja. Probably already posted for his bragging, and maybe also for his arrest, which came yesterday. NSIAP.

Pic looks like it's from a satire site, but that really is McCall Calhoun, Esq., criminal defense attorney of Americus, Jawja. Doesn't appear very much to be cut from the Atticus Finch small-town Southern lawyer cloth.

Google reviews are better than the ones on Avvo, where his rating went from 5.0 to 1.4:

He kept counselling me to overthrow the US government, even though I told him time and time again that I was just there for a durable power of attorney. It looked like his tinfoil hat was just on way too tight.
He said he passed the bar, but when I asked for proof he just said "What about the email lady!"
Anyway, if you do decide to hire him, I think he's currently in jail for insurrection.

He has no respect for his clients and his office smelled terrible. Not sure he's a heavy smoker or just generally doesn't understand basic hygiene, but his breath smelled like rotten eggs and treason.

Ignorant. Will believe anything a cult leader says.

He's still sporting a 4.9 on Google. Are we sure he was there?

I doubt he cares too much about what a bunch of liberal communists think. But I suspect he cares greatly about his company's status as a Trane Comfort Specialist. If Mark loses that badge the value of his business changes drastically.

With dems running it, yes.

I know. It was a rhetorical question. I’m still amazed by what a sham his first impeachment trial was. Not surprised, just stunned that America could ever sink so low. We’d be better off if he had been removed from office then. We’d be even better off if he had been impeached and removed following the Mueller investigation.

And through it all, Putin has been laughing his ass off.

You need a “secure” link that begins with “https,” not “http.” You can probably just copy the image and paste it into your post. I don’t know what the size limitations are in the new forum software. I’ve only done that a few times but haven’t run into any problems.

Ha, hadn't messed around with the new update yet. We can just straight upload here now. Anyway, the stuff was sent to the FBI tip line so they can cross check with video they have if they want and see if this jackass went inside the capitol

Nashville & Memphis are fighting over who has to claim him. No love lost between those two cities. Memphis thinks Nashville is stuck up and all Nashville thinks of Memphis is there be dragons. And Nashvillians get really annoyed when tourists ask for directions to Graceland.

Build temporary treason courts. Scour the world for the judges these traitors deserve. Profit.

Just like the Senate impeachment trial the first time! It all balances out.

Has anyone ever seen a Trumpist post that was amusing or ironic or even proof read? They see Donald Trump as the king of wit and he's basically just a name-caller with a very limited vocabulary, limited like nobody's ever seen before.

A great many of these people are stupid, but not all of them by any means. They do seem to be almost universally humorless outside of hur-durring assent to insults or canned lies about their illusory enemies.

I wonder what that says about a person's mind. Stupid is too easy a diagnosis and just incorrect. It's something else.
