I swear your criticism is baffling.

To think a guys medical training consisting of chainsawing a whale isn’t good enough for you.

Just about right ...

So what do we think the recommendation for pain management during pregnancy will be going forward?  I'm thinking it will be one of the following:

  • Nothing - "women are just a vessel anyway, so they just need to suck it up and think of the baby ... or else."  / Ken Paxton probably
  • Heroin - if it's good enough for the HHS secretary, it should be good enough for you and your baby.  They'll recommend Trump or Kennedy-branded heroin, of course.
  • Leeches - because the pain experienced during pregnancy is normally the result of "bad blood" and such.

I await the latest developments in "science" with bated breath.

"We're gonna have one of the biggest announcements, really, medically, I think, in the history of our country," President Trump said Sunday night, referring to a press conference scheduled for Monday afternoon. "I think we found an answer to autism."

Ladies and gentlemen, the President of the United States of America.

And #1 looks like it will end up being the answer in Texas:

Sound medical advice from the President: "Nothing bad could happen. It can only good happen. But with Tylenol, don't take it.  Don't take it."  Well stated.

So what I really want to know now is what did Kenvue, makers of Tylenol, do to get on the wrong side of RFK and our Dear leader?

Better yet does this claim open them up to litigation from some non-critical thinking MAGA mom of an autistic kid....because that should be fun.

Read that again:

BUT BIDEN DEMENTIA!

How much worse is it that we're not just dealing with increasing dementia, but the baseline is....and yeah, I know we're not supposed to say this, but I can't figure out any better term for it....he's fucking retarded.  Seriously, he's just an absolute, abject fucking moron.  Layer dementia on top of that?  Sheeeeeeeeeeit.

like they aren't even saying acetaminophen, just 'Tylenol!' 🤣

I took a shitload of Tylenol as a child. Basically everyday for years because of a medical issue. I am not autistic as far as I can tell. I am fully regarded but not autistic.

What a wild timeline.

I'd donate $100 to Mobile Loaves & Fishes to hear Trump try to pronounce "acetaminophen".

"Ass-cheeto-feminine.  A-little-feeto-zen.  Tylenol."

Did they release an actual report, or is it just this press conference?

Lol. Who gives a fuck about the report? What % of Americans can even get through the abstract?

I am just looking for something written on paper to digest. I pretty sure that I am on record on this thread that there would be no new research finding to disclose, and no substantive report to issue in this timeframe. But still had to ask. I guess if all we are left with is a transcript of a presser, we can dig into that. I've seen some of the changes to the CDC website. I would word things slightly differently, but the thrust would be similar.

But you are not wrong.

Not pay a bribe to say it was caused by Advil.

There was a longish thread on the old board about the Advil lawsuits.

Yeah. The report, if/when released is going to cite the limited studies already conducted previously, but with a different conclusion.

* With additional proof of the lack of diagnoses in Amish communities to establish that conclusion.

*** Has anyone ever bothered to posit that maybe electricity causes ASD?

Depends how they frame the conclusions. I have read the 2025 paper, and it gives fodder. The swedish paper finds a relationship, but after controlling for sibling pairs, it is attenuated. The siblings pairs analysis has limitations which are addressed in some level of detail in the 2025 paper from a few weeks ago.

I am pretty sure that it was stated up thread, but this should not change the standard of care. APAP use should be minimized in terms of both dose and duration. Ibuprofen is not a reasonable alternative for pregnant women (don't fuck with prostaglandins in pregnancy).

The clips I saw from the presser, esp when Trump was at the mic, were nonsensical.
