I am a little concerned this will do more harm with the labor and others than it will help with those it helps.

I've never liked this policy.  It's a hand out to the highly educated at the expense of the less educated.

Well, in a Silo, maybe. I view it more as a rebuke of predatory college lending. That being said, Biden has worked hard to make huge incentives for folks to go to trade school, affordably and manufacturing industries in general. How is this not a boon to labor, and over worked laborers?

If anyone is worried about that kind of spin then just have Harris announce Farm Loan Forgiveness as a major platform plank. I mean they already get assistance but pull a page out of the Trump playbook and act like you invented it.

I don't think it'll be big news and there will be a lawsuit in Missouri that gets us back to the status quo within a week.

You and I both know the electorate is too dumb for this.

Yep

"This is significant."

No, it's not.

Nothing short of Trump calling Kamala the hard "-er" will pull people off of Trump at this point. And, even then, it would just mean Kamala would win PA by a more comfortable 3-4%.

The only way to sway people is getting them to like Kamala and feel okay with voting for her. There's no October surprise big enough to be the last straw for people who weren't completely done with him after witnessing Nov 4, 2020 - Jan 6, 2021.

It is so depressing that this election is close.

Not everyone believes this is as close as the media is telling you it is.  A close race gets eyeballs.

Every pollster is terrified of being wrong again, whether it's 2016/2020 or 2022, that they are likely overcompensating to get the results they want.  "We told you it could go either way and it did!" as they publish the 18th poll showing a swing state as +1 Harris / tie / +1 Trump.

Student loan forgiveness also does nothing to address rising tuition costs for current and future college students.

Rising tuition costs isn’t something the federal government can solve really. Rising tuition is a direct result of less funding from state governments.

I just sent this to my parents. They do not like Kamala, for whatever reason. Probably becuase she has a D behind her name. I point blank told them that they need to drag their heads out of their asses.  This got sent today.

Trump plays politics with disaster funds...

Basically, if it is a Democrat asking, or a state that voted for his opponent, like in 2017, they are shit out of luck. This is not the way the President of the US is supposed to act, especially in light of a disaster.  Aren't you glad, as Texans, that Biden did not do that after the freeze in 2021?

As good Christians, we are supposed to help those in need.  I hope on November 5th, you both realize that this isn't the guy needed to lead this country, and you either hold your nose and vote Harris/Walz or stay home.

And this isn't the first time.  See the response to NC for Hurricane Matthew in 2017.

North Carolina will receive less than 1 percent of the federal funds it requested to cover damages associated with Hurricane Matthew, which hit the East Coast in October.

Edit to add, this was originally a superbowl commercial talking about how awesome and holy farmers are right?  I am curious if any of them are annoyed that he just bumped them out of their slot.

I’ve had this discussion. It goes like this: yea we know he’s not perfect but I just really worry about our country’s future with her in charge.

Nothing, I mean absolutely nothing, is worse than the liberal left’s socialist agenda. Not a single thing in the world is worse.

So, good luck.

I like to point to how the democrats have like no significant “liberal left” accomplishments in the last I dunno, forever, except maybe Obamacare which was originally a Republican healthcare plan.

Like minimum wage is still $7.50… that liberal agenda though… scary stuff.

The latest rage is that Harris mentioned immediate $750 payments to those who suffered loss from Hurricane Helene.  Never mind that she went on to mention "tens of thousands" of followon support for repairs, deductibles, etc. or that the administration has already committed to supplying 100% of NC's local support request.  All they hear is $750.

I will say, I have my Harris sign up and my mom came by the house to drop off some storage bins for my move and she didn't say a word about it.  Or the ",LA" hat I had sitting on the dining table.  Which is uncommon for her - she always has a pretty stupid and uninformed opinion.

She was just in Italy/the Mediterranean for a cruise and she and my sister were discussing how European healthcare is so much better and the American system is so stupid. I bit my tongue but I really wanted to be like

I got $750 from FEMA for Beryl.

Basically everyone who applied got $750, minimum, for Beryl.

I mean, she didn't throw them paper towels like someone who's never played a sport in his bone-spurred life, so she's pretty much Mao.

I assume that she's got enough blackmail information that she'll have a very nice settlement and allowance into perpetuity.

That's also a good way to get buried in a golf course.

Should have said "there are plans to fix healthcare, concepts of a plan at least, or so I've heard."

Anyone still saying shit like this or "I'm voting for the policies, not the person" should be forced to acknowledge that they would vote for Satan if he had an (R) next to his name. That's all that matters now.

It's even dumber than that.  Let's say that really is your approach.

Cool, we're picking a pilot.

Pilot 1: I have filed a flight plan to take our plane to the Bahamas for a month.  Also, I have stated numerous times that I will change my mind and fly wherever the hell I want and you can't stop me, the plane belongs to me and I alone get to decide what to do with it, I've threatened to crash the plane into a mountain repeatedly, I've tried to hijack a plane before, I've demonstrated that I actually have no idea how to fly a plane, I get easily confused and distracted by anything and everything, and I'm fucking drunk all the time.

Pilot 2: I have filed a flight plan to take us to a local lake for a nice week.  I know that's not the exotic destination some of you may want, but it's achievable based on the time and resources we have.  Also, I am a competent pilot who has repeatedly expressed that I take seriously my duties as a pilot, and have never threatened to crash the plane, tried to hijack it, and I'm not a drinker.

Saying "I'm voting for the flight plan, not the pilot" in that scenario tells me that you are a dumbass with sub-reptilian intelligence. I'm amazed that you remember to breathe.

Many, many years ago when I was 6 I flew for the first time. I told my dad I hoped the plane would get hijacked to Cuba because that meant I could fly longer and we'd go to a place I'd heard about on the news. That is the current Trump voter in your scenario.
