Shit, I never heard about Chiefs fans freezing to death.

Yeah, there's a thread around here someplace on that and other KC fans who attended the game and lost toes, thumbs, fingers, and other various bodyparts to frostbite during that weekend. It was a fun read if I recall correctly.

I really hate this man. This country is so easily distracted way too many people have no idea how much of a shit show things currently are. They see 30 second sound bytes from this administration lying through their teeth, telling them how good things are and they believe it. Then in the same breath they say the media can't be trusted.

I thought this had to be a joke when I clicked on the link and read the words "The Fake News Losers at CNN" on an official government website... But, then I remembered that we have a president with the emotional maturity of an 8-year old.

Given this... Looks like all the colleges and universities can ignore the Dear Colleague letter from February regarding "racial bias and preferences". Who's going to investigate and sanction them since it's a DoE and OCR matter?

You can pry my VWs out of my cold dead hands. Then you can replace the timing belt and the water pump.

My first car was a beige 1983 Rabbit. My second was a 1991 Jetta. I drove both of them into the ground and had little to no maintenance problems with them.

The article with their full quotes is even worse:

I read this and was thinking about the Leopards Eating Faces and pictured a leopard on top of someone casuall chewing at the face and the person thinking “well, I need a little time to see how this works out.”

The DOJ will look into anything that Christopher Rufo asks that they do and then apply some sort of punitive measures via the FBI, Homeland Security, and/or loyalist state governors?

He really is filling in the role of chief propagandist in a goebbels sort of way. He's specifying cultural things the Party shouldn't like, and then the Party is animated by his action to target the newly ID'd "out" groups

He's been working towards this for a long long time. Well before Musk bought Xitter, he had a well thought out agenda and worked social media in an adept way. Just as Roger Stone was able to expand on the Florida vote counting methods during the Bush vs Gore and turn it into the stop the steal blitz of 2020 (along with some new key players), Rufo has gathered resources and enough of them to be one of the GOP attack dogs to infiltrate, intimidate, indoctrinate, and ultimately purge institutions of 'not right minded' individuals.

The president and his party of fascists incite violence against us and people we know practically every single day.

Not holding my breath on the current president Carter (not to be confused with the late, honorable former President Carter).

For what it's worth, the most inciting violence conversation I've witnessed of late is the consistent and persistent gerrymandering talk in the Leopard's thread; the derail was intense, immutable, and irrelevant. But I usually scroll past most stuff anyway.

This isn't a fucking discussion. It's been a rule forever on the board.

Then how the hell are we supposed to find lesbian love letters in political prison if we don't amp up the violence rhetoric? We're playing the long game here.

I realize VW talk is not going away, but other than the MK IV models, VWs are fine cars, but like all German cars, you have to stay on top of the maintenance schedule.  They have tight tolerances and break if you try to push the annual upkeep.

A  3800 V6 Buick they are not.

I have no idea why everyone doesn't just buy a Toyota.

Other than the new Land Cruiser, they’re boring looking appliances. Some people appreciate design aesthetics. Some people don’t and that’s okay, too. I’m glad that some people appreciate aesthetics as those folks help pay the bills in my house given my wife’s career.

Love my Toyota product 2025 Lexus RS.  We had a 2006 onefor ten years, switched to MBZ for 9, then back.   Looks?  I get plenty of compliments at the PT for old injured folks place.

It's when the design aesthetic supercedes the functionality. See Balenciaga.

Sure, it's pretty but does it work.

Did you not read the post I replied to? The question was why doesn’t everyone just buy a Toyota. There are plenty of beautifully designed products out there that are functional and of incredibly high quality. If you would like to have a discussion about high-end design, we can start a discussion about it elsewhere.

I don't understand why anyone would care what someone else likes and purchases but that's 80% of the internet so here we are.

The world would be a boring and soulless place if we all had homogeneous tastes and interests. That said, I definitely judge Tesla drivers.

I have an old Jetta that I'll drive to work and back until it needs some repair >$1,000 and I "forgot" to change the oil for a good 2 years in there and it handled it like a champ. I might "forget" again so it'll finally die, and I have the incentive to get something newer.
