Go back in time.  Look at that picture, as you looked at it when it first came out.  Now, imagine future you stepping into the room, and telling you "oh....yeah....here's the thing.  Shit gets SO much dumber than this."  You'd have thought that future you was high on crack and meth combined after suffering a horrific TBI.  How could it POSSIBLY get dumber than this?

it never occurred to me until now that those lower-case T's are little crosses. lol

It’s also bullshit. Trump had the fucking Taliban at Camp David and negotiated a humanitarian disaster with terrorists. He’s tripping over himself to accept “business deals” from Mr Bonesaw, MBS, who killed a Virginia resident and journalist during his last administration. Trump encourages domestic terrorism every single day he’s in office which resulted most recently in over 500 rounds shot at the CDC last week.

You want a president that killed terrorists? Look no further than Obama. He was drone striking terrorists while JD Vance was humping couches

Thank you for reminding me of that. In the flood of shit, I forgot about this particular turd.

With the exception George HW Bush, every GOP president since Ford has been increasingly dumber and inept. Each time I thought, well this is as low as it will go.

Nope.

I’d say Nixon, not Ford. Nixon was smarter than Ford but thoroughly corrupt. Ford wasn’t particularly smart, he was just bland and a good cover as a replacement for the thoroughly corrupt Agnew.

Fucking this. Remember the "gifted" airplane from Qatar that the American taxpayers will spend $1bn to retrofit?

It's a jet stream of bullshit.

Yeah, I know the history. I usually preface that observation by recalling how dumb Ford was compared to other presidents. The progression starts from him for that reason. I thought he'd be the low water mark.

All he does is lie, as well.  Nothing about success?  There is LITERALLY a whole segment devoted to "American Enterprise" and the various ways that American business has supercharged the country and the world.  But, I guess he has a point....there's probably not a wing devoted to crooked real estate developers and game show hosts and how they can con the American public, so....point made.

One little nit to pick I would say going back to Nixon.

And Bush 42 likely helped mastermind Iran contra imo so having brains is not always a good thing

We visited the National Museum of the American Indian in May.

Many of the exhibits displayed some artifacts along with two perspectives that went along with the display ... what the settlers and the US government were thinking at the time and what the native Americans were thinking at the time.  I thought it was a pretty cool way of showing the disconnect between the two sides.  I wouldn't want it altered to show just one perspective.

I also spotted a MAGA hat on display at the American History museum in an exhibit on presidential stuff, so there's that...

Trumps claims about nothing about success ... I saw Mercury, Gemini, and Apollo spacecrafts almost side by side, next to Neil Armstrong's suit and across the hall from Yeager's plane, next door to mock-ups of all the Mars landers which were underneath a model of Voyager .. yeah nothing to crow about at all inside the Smithsonian.

Trump has never stepped foot in any museum.

I as I said above, I was counting down from what I thought would be a low point.

Bush 42 also pardoned all the Iran-Contra defendants on a Christmas Eve. I'm just saying he wasn't an idiot. I completely agree about brains not being mistake proof.

Shaking my head that we went from it being a given that slavery was bad and a stain on our country's legacy to "well it wasn't all bad". They are that fragile that you can't say this country ever did anything wrong because that challenges American exceptionalism. Of course, they could talk shit about America during the Clinton, Obama, and Biden years but now everything has to be whitewashed.

So we’ve reached the point where saying “slavery was bad” is considered out of control wokeness. They must be so thrilled that they have found this new awesome racism loophole. Give it a year and not being able to scream n***** at someone will be called woke.

Wait until "The Planter's Northern Bride" is being read in schools and is being performed at the Kennedy Center

About a month ago my family was visiting relative on the east coast, and my wife and I took the kids to DC. While there we visited the Smithsonian National Museum of American History. It was a little light on the good parts of slavery but I did get a picture of the most important historical artifact I've ever seen:

Indeed. I represented him a few years back on a matter.

I’ve long said “American Exceptionalism” is the base reason for our downfall.
