My wife (white, born in Colombia to American parents when her dad was stationed there in the Navy) will be putting #1 to the test in January when we travel to Mexico and go through customs upon return.

Having "Place of Birth: Colombia" on her passport, we've already had high level discussions on "what ifs" and those will increase as we get closer to our travel date. Especially with the recent escalation in hostilities the regime has shown toward that nation.

Overreacting? Maybe. But maybe not.

Obviously n of 1 but my Brazilian wife is green card only and we got in from Brazil in September without a question. Last name on her passport doesn’t match the GC either. Flight in even got switched from LA to Dallas which made me nervous.

Every time this thread is marked as HOT, I panic a little, because I don't have any champagne in the house.

I don’t drink champagne but I’ve had the same bottle in my fridge for about five years now. Waiting. I don’t care if I read about it at 6:30 am while I’m getting ready for work, it’s getting opened in that moment.

Not disputing the main point, but I really do have to think that he is so surrounded by yes men and, honestly, people who are using his dumbassery and gullibility to advance their own interests (hello Stephen Miller) that he really doesn't live in reality.  Then it filters down to his cult.  Sort of like an authoritarian, ignorant, racist inception.

He is a (1) legitimately insane (2) complete fucking idiot.

Seriously, you Trump supporters…this is your diety. A man whose brain is not an actual thing. Jesus fucking Christ. How can someone like that have ANY power, much less ALL of it?

Quote

As recorded by journalist Michael Wolff, who interviewed Jeffrey Epstein over several years, when Marla Maples told Trump she was pregnant, he panicked. "What am I going to do? She's pregnant. I'm going to have to marry her." Epstein thought Maples was lying, but after a visit to the doctor it was confirmed that she was indeed pregnant. "What if I pushed her down the stairs?" Trump mused. "You could murder her and go to jail,” said Epstein. “Or perhaps nothing would happen, but you would have pushed her down the stairs. And when the divorce happens that would be something she could testify to in court."

In any real world Trump would be working at a 7-11.

Every once in a while I think about how Al Franken’s career was ended over some bad jokes. Like that’s something I think about when Trump demands a quarter of a billion dollars of taxpayer money, because he wants it.

Ivermectin blamed for death of Colorado woman

The Douglas County coroner is reporting a 74-year-old Colorado woman died of "ivermectin toxicity" in August, CBS News Colorado has learned. It's the second such death in the state, and it's triggering renewed cautions about the different forms of ivermectin.

According to a Douglas County Coroner's Office autopsy report, Mary Doran died on Aug. 2 after a series of seizures due to "probable ivermectin toxicity." The report describes her death as an accident. According to the report obtained by CBS News Colorado, Doran had reportedly been taking ivermectin "for chronic pain." It states: "The decedent and her husband were reportedly taking ivermectin intermittently over the past year which was being taken 2 times a day over the past 6 days. ... Ivermectin was present at the decedent's home."

7-11 doesn't hire felons.  At least not to work in stores.

As I sit here and watch College Gameday while the president openly and brazenly robs the American people day after day, literally trying to take funds from the treasury now, while the rest of the government just allows it to happen, along with inflicting pain upon the weakest in our society on a daily basis, I realize that the game is over.  We aren’t going to fix this. He figured out we are too dumb and complacent to stop it now. If we had stopped him after January 6th, we might have had a chance. That will be the moment in history where the American experiment truly failed. Now it’s all over but figuring out which oligarchs get what.

And bad at math.  We have something like 1.3M ACTIVE troops in the military.  If those were the only people getting paid and nobody else they each get a cool 100 bucks a piece.  They can take their families to McDonalds a couple of times.

Hey Specialist Smith, here is a crisp C-note. Now, if you want to double that, invest in this selected Bit-Coin. We promise it is a good investment. Oh, don't need it? You get SNAP benefits? Umm.. Well see....

That is great for Morale.

Wish Soros would donate 260M to food banks near US Bases. They are going to need it if this shit does not end.

When I read this post it’s actually amazing me.  He’s literally taking money directly from the Treasury and putting it into his bank account and nobody is making any meaningful effort to stop him.

Im off the ledge.  Its over.  We are all just living in the epilogue.

Look our government has its stress test and turns out it was not designed for this level of stupidity in the population.  We can look forward to restricting voting to property owners soon.  It is not going to look anything like the old system.

I think the populace has been this stupid for a long time (possibly since the beginning), but technology (social media) made it incredibly easy for ill-intended authoritarian super-wealthy shitbags to take advantage.
