The hillbilly sheriff is obviously an idiot.  How the fuck the courts decided to hold him on $2 million bail for this is the real question. Just a reminder - stay the fuck out of bugtussle, red state.  Shit's outta control.

The hillbilly sheriff was probably posting in the same thread and the only one triggered by the comment.

That is absolutely insane. I bet there's nothing in any investigative file with citizens calling the police about this threat to shoot up the school. He's been in jail since September 22 on $2M bail with law enforcement admitting he's not a threat, which is mind numbingly stupid. It's unreal his hearing to reduce the bond isn't going to be heard until December 4.

I'd be willing to bet someone with some sense is get the charges dismissed or him out on a radically reduced bond well before December 4. As this news spreads, he should be home in time to hand out Halloween with a tort claim filed by Monday. Then again, Tennessee so I actually wouldn't be willing to bet. But, I'm hopeful.

Sheriff Larry Weems:

“This has everything to do with a guy coming onto a Perry County page posting this picture leading people in our community to believe that there was a hypothetical Perry County High School shooting that caused fear in our community – and we done something about it,”

“There’s been some very, very bad phone calls that my employees has had to endure.”

:Because here's the thing: whenever you're dealing with something like this and you've got multiple people that is now scared to send their kids to school, we tried to take a different approach and go and speak to this guy and say, ‘Hey, look, this is what you're doing.’"

Wait, isn’t Rasputin the golden child of Fat Boy pollster friends?

Yes, they're the maga propaganda of pollsters. So reality is probably closer to 30 percent approve.

I do wonder what the actual number is now that the non die hard trump lickers have seen they're getting screwed. All those people that didnt vote and didnt care may be starting to care more and more as things get worse.

The only way we have to measure it in reality is elections, and now we cant even count on any election being legitimate again.

I'll be voting a straight blue ticket in Virginia for next weeks elections.  I think I will go on Friday for early voting just to piss Dear Leader off.

That Sark may leave for the NFL thread on the football board should be used as a case study for Journalism school how not to handle themselves. Shoddy reporting with no evidence leads the dumb masses to just circle jerk each other with more and more outlandish bullshit until it snow balls so badly that democracy dies and the country is tossed into dystopia.

I've only checked on the Sark/NFL thread a few times, but it sure seems like a bunch of football board critters are hypersensitive to the definition of the word "cuck." It makes me wonder how many of them are forced to watch their best friend rail their better half on the regular. And the fascination with bedroom activities being grounds to fire a guy for cause is also telling.

Yes, he used the quote Trump said when discussing another school shooting where he said, "We just have to get over it."

Actually I think he used a Trump's school shooting quote in reference to the Charlie Kirk assassination if I understood the news story correctly.

Yes, that's exactly what he did. He shared a meme with Charlie Kirk's picture and the Trump quote from an Iowa school shooting, I think.

I think it’s more about you and others justifying his not normal behavior as “fat boy just being fat boy.” When you don’t call it out every time, you’re normalizing it as being okay, and that’s part of the problem of why we are where we are today.

What I was referencing was people referring to him being mentally ill. It's not ok that he's a fucking egomaniac, but I didn't see it as, "See, he can't even follow directions any more."

Fat boy being fat boy isn't normal at all.

He won due to a fucked up coalition of RFK loons and personality cult. That doesn’t survive his death.

How many disgusted alienated GOPs will believe their party is going back to the values they've lied about since Reagan? Trump just revealed who the GOP is. The GOP, I'm sure, were surprised the revelation didn't destroy them. Nope, the hidden vile part is now embraced. There will be no retreat from the acid they've poured on the functions of the republic.

They're not going to invite back the government employees who were replaced by toadies. They're not going to re-fund any science that they've questioned. The rapacious policies will stand. The GOP will have gerrymandered districts, crooked election officials, and the Supreme Court to keep them in power. The returning GOPs will comfortably slip on the warm coat of lies about their righteousness.

The Dem party is dead. Trump leaving will not yield them a single vote.

Bingo.  This only ends in destruction, wreckage, suffering, and blood.  And lots of all of those things.  It's inevitable.  We've chosen that course, and we will not deviate.

I have my mail in ballot. Maybe I’ll head down to Seattle and ask some homeless person to fill it out and drop it off in between heroin jabs.

I disagree with this.  We're too soft.  Too comfortable.  We're going to sit on our hands, maybe go to some protests and dress up like a frog for the Insta, and complain about it on Reddit.  But we won't DO anything about it in a real sense.  I fully expect that, with AI + Palantir + some pols with a real taste for authoritarianism, we'll be firmly within the grasp of a surveillance state within 5 years.  I doubt we'll be like mainland China, but I fully expect we'll be Hong Kong.

~45% of eligible voters are registered with a political party. ~45% of them are registered republicans. Trump leaving will definitely make a difference

You're kind of right, but you're not paying attention to the economic destruction that is being wrought.  Sawbonz posted this in another thread:

Quote

Things like snap payments, Medicaid expansion, and ACA credits are force multipliers. The pain will spread farther than the direct impact of the cuts, especially Medicaid and ACA. Loss of rural hospitals in some cases will kill the largest employer in the communities.

Those healthcare workers and their spouses will pull up stakes. That will affect retail, real estate, finance, schools, etc. Pain is coming. It’s not the brave thing to do for Dems to distance themselves as much as possible from the cause of this pain, it’s the smart thing.

Communities absolutely collapsing, families ending up homeless.  That's a large part of the wreckage and suffering I'm talking about.  Bombs are one way to destroy a country and cause suffering.  Trumpism is another.  The outcome is the same: communities and lives ruined, people suffering and yes, dead.

Something darkly funny about this screenshot.

image.png.9b1cbd1e1fceae4534424a8efdff4773.png

Three absolute disasters.

"Ceasefire back on after strikes." So, there's a ceasefire in between outbreaks of war. That's stretching that definition pretty far Mr/Ms journalist. Reloading and gassing up the planes is not really a ceasefire as boasted by President Where the Fuck Am I?.

The hurricane reminds of President Mushroom's screwing of Puerto Rico after their disaster and his deft deception with the Sharpie that proved he knows more about weather than all the meteorologists.
