A lot of this going around.   I've pretty much decided that this country is totally screwed.   The fact that Kirk was some kind of role model and is now a martyr for the cause means it's over.

These fucking assholes had nothing to say when Sandy Hook and Uvalde happened. They also are unhelpful when help is needed to rebuild those schools, and I have the receipts to prove it. I have lost all faith in my peers. Left and right. Too many people are dug in on online politics. We are fucked. We cannot be trusted with guns.

Yep.  It's over.

Charlie Kirk said in the clip above that black people were better off in the 1940's because they committed less [sic] crimes.

And approximately half of this country is now comparing Charlie's murder to MLK's murder, and they mean it.

This country has become irredeemably stupid.  Everyone with an IQ over 100 needs to get their escape plan together, and quickly.

So Baylor is cool with rapes and murders and will even help you cover them up if your free throw percentage is high enough, but taseless tweets are against their Christian mission and will not be abided.

Cool.  So cool.

someone that's going to kill another person isn't going to try and get a gun legally that can be traced to him and he will have no problem getting one illegally just like anyone can easily get any illegal drug. My attempt at sarcasm didn't go over well, If the US could do a reasonably good job at keeping guns away from criminals I would be fine with banning guns but our experience with drugs is criminals have no problem getting endless amounts of illegal drugs and it would be the same for guns.

But it still makes it more difficult, which is an impediment. And people get busted trying to get guns illegally, which is another obstacle. I agree that it would be difficult but more helps, and irrational people post their crimes to social media and YouTube of all places. Irrational people don’t always make the best decisions.

I'll tell you what: can we just try it for a year? Full background checks, red flag laws, safety and awareness classes, gun safe laws, licensed concealed carry only, the works. If there's not a dramatic fall in shooting deaths--if the kid from Uvalde and other social butterflies are able to Google their local black market gun dealer easily enough--we'll admit to being wrong and never infringe again.

Just when I was depressed enough after looking at Facebook....   It's just mind-boggling that people call Kirk "Christ-like" and praise his Christian values.

If we do such a bad job stopping crime then why do we have laws in the first place at all?

Yea we should lift laws against murder, it’s clearly not stopping anyone

I've been mocking the hell out of these posts on my feed. The joy it brings me to call these fake Christians out is euphoric

Some guy on MSNBC: “He’s been one of the most divisive, especially divisive younger figures in this, who is constantly sort of pushing this sort of hate speech or sort of aimed at certain groups. And I always go back to, hateful thoughts lead to hateful words, which then lead to hateful actions. And I think that is the environment we are in. You can’t stop with these sort of awful thoughts you have and then saying these awful words and not expect awful actions to take place. And that’s the unfortunate environment we are in.”

Guess which one got fired tonight for “inappropriate, insensitive and unacceptable” comments.

I mean, I assume halfway through he knew he was fucked, but it was too late to abort. But there was no way that was going to fly in today's media.

So do I have this right?

1. An old white man was immediately arrested after the shooting. He was let go after determining he wasn't the shooter.

2. Utah police later arrested another man. The fucking FBI Director states that suspect has been caught.

3. It was determined the second man was also not the shooter. The fucking FBI Director retracts and says shooter is still at large.

4. Crickets since then??

It's best to accept now that pretty much nothing that you hear in the next 48 hours is going to be accurate or true. From anyone.

Well, I've got a good source that said  "Charlie don't surf".

Take it for what it's worth.

Which include…..???

several different types including public shootings, bar/club incidents, family annihilations, drive-by, workplace and those which defy description but with the established foundation definition being that they have a minimum of four victims shot, either injured or killed, not including any shooter who may also have been killed or injured in the incident.

Why are GVA Mass Shooting numbers higher than some other sources?

GVA uses a purely statistical threshold to define mass shooting based ONLY on the numeric value of 4 or more shot or killed, not including the shooter. GVA does not parse the definition to remove any subcategory of shooting. To that end we don’t exclude, set apart, caveat, or differentiate victims based upon the circumstances in which they were shot.
GVA believes that equal importance is given to the counting of those injured as well as killed in a mass shooting incident.

The FBI does not define Mass Shooting in any form. They do define Mass Murder but that includes all forms of weapon, not just guns.

In that, the criteria are simple…if four or more people are shot or killed in a single incident, not including the shooter, that incident is categorized as a mass shooting based purely on that numerical threshold.

I think they know who it was but it doesn’t fit the narrative they want pushed.

I know of one motherfucker kinda close to Kirk's orbit who has a pretty good motive to have him killed in the most public fashion possible.
