It is all performative to get the base behind him again.  Ignore the increased cost of living.  Ignore Epstein.  Ignore the shit show with Russia.  Ignore the shit show with Israel.

To be clear I am not claiming that the Administration had anything to do with this act but they sure are going to take advantage of it to change the narrative and to go on the attack.

Kirk's body wasn't even cold before the President gleefully rushed in to do just that. What a bloodthirsty ghoul.

ah fair enough, I honestly didn't follow that story very closely

Actually, I didn't read your post closely enough. Luigi left his writings at the scene by way of bullets and casings. But I think our shooter here was aware the rifle and mags would be recovered, so I don't see much import to the distinction.

I don't understand the point of people saying stuff like this.

Especially when they have something shoved in your mouth.

Right, Macklemore?

This is fucking absurd, fuck MSNBC:

MSNBC has fired Matthew Dowd, a political analyst whose on-air comments after Charlie Kirk’s death drew criticism, according to a person at the network briefed on the decision.

During a back-and-forth with the MSNBC anchor Katy Tur on Wednesday, Mr. Dowd remarked that Mr. Kirk had been pushing hate speech, adding that “hateful thoughts lead to hateful words, which then lead to hateful actions.”

Rebecca Kutler, MSNBC’s president, apologized for Mr. Dowd’s remarks, calling them “inappropriate, insensitive and unacceptable.”

“There is no place for violence in America, political or otherwise,” she said.

Mr. Dowd issued an apology on social media, saying that he did not intend for his comments “to blame Kirk for this horrendous attack.”

I don't think they stay quiet because they know it's wrong.  They stay quiet because they know what the reaction will be to them outing themselves as misogynists and bigots.  They don't want those consequences.

Well, as mentioned, some are hard core and just want legitimization.  Others need a rationalization.

Some are flat evil, some are not but their better angels are suppressed.

That's the real question isn't it: why? The how and the who is just scenery for the public. Kirk, Trump, Epstein, Loomer, keeps 'em guessing like some kind of parlor game, prevents 'em from asking the most important question: why? Why was Kirk Killed? Who benefited? Who has the power to cover it up? Who?

I can’t find anything wrong at all with what he said. He essentially very politely said “hey maybe hate speech is a bad idea all around?”.

The left media still thinks decorum exist. This kind of shit is why they can’t weaponize media in their favor to push views.

I listened to about five minutes of Morning Joe this morning driving into work. They were all talking about Charlie Kirk like he was Gandhi.

Eh. Implying that his hate speech is what got him killed (true or not) moments after his gruesome murder had no chance of not being controversial and wasn't in the best taste. 10 years ago, it wouldn't have been a fireable offense, but, today? On a non-Fox channel? He probably saw the writing on the wall while the words were still coming out.

I'm still a few pages behind, but I've had enough. This is disgusting. A man has a toddler who won't see him today, because he is too busy parenting a bunch of middle aged white guys on a message board. Thoughts and prayers for @immamac

Parents are going about their day after their children were slaughtered in school and this guy defended the acts in the name of 2nd amendment. Eye or an eye

But it's not.  Kirk was a disengenuous debater.  He used non-sequiturs, half-truths, outright lies and was a fearmonger.  He was not interested in honest dialogue but wanted clicks, gotcha moments and for things to go viral on the places that platformed him.

He would also “debate” college kids, which is pathetic. These kids are smart, but most lack real world context to be able to conduct meaningful debates. Just easy targets that his fans could relish in as he “owned liberal snowflakes”.

This is 100% spot on.

Yeah. I pointed that out already.

If Hasan has been shot no fucking way politicians would be claiming what a great American or hero he was.

Oh that’s a phrase that’s used by so-called conservative Christians. It’s the new “homosexual agenda.”

It is infinitely more likely that liberal politicians and media members would be critical of him after his killing than fawning and praising.
