Frankly - I'm fucking tired of it.

This is Texas football. Back to back CFP appearances. Back to back national semifinals. B12 champs 2023. SEC title game 2024. Back to back 12 win seasons (13 last year).

Thorpe award 2024.

Outland trophy 2024.

25 NFL draft picks the last two seasons.

Get y'all's fucking shit together and quit being a bunch of bitches. If I have to see one more motherfucker post about 2010 Texas or Garrett Gilbert I'm throwing a damn brick through someone's window.

I am so, deeply sorry that Arch Manning isn't instantly 2019 Joe Burrow. Why don't all of you relax and watch a couple more games before claiming that this team is going 7-5.

These dogs get another warmup and then they all go get to prove themselves.

We are going to fuck Florida's shit up.

We are going to fuck OU's shit up.

Have some fucking faith in what your head coach has shown you and what he has already delivered for this program. The QB is green. They will figure it out. Together. Give them time. Have some God damn faith for once in your life.

THIS IS TEXAS FOOTBALL, GOD DAMMIT.

Fun fact: Tim Capello is doing a cover version of the song as it was originally released by The Call (from Santa Cruz where the film was shot) a year before the movie’s release

Top notch info.  Thanks!

I visited Santa Cruz with a friend in high school and hung out at the boardwalk, rode the Giant Dipper, ate at Pizza My Heart, checked out Steamer's Lane, etc.  Sadly, no Tim Capelo sightings.  No vampire sightings either.

I always thought Steamer's Lane was what South Austin's Mom called the space between her tits?

For the record, I thought long and hard about posting this one, but decided fuck it, this season is miserable, maybe it's time to take things way too far.

Honestly, this is more clever than gross. And to the extent it's gross, it's not even in the top 10 of the grossest things you've said this season.

Well, nothing is going to compete with "Arch Manning is taking us to a national title this season" in regards to gross things said.

Nah fuck that he was playing great last year he looks like a different dude this year.

Maybe it’s the receivers, OL, RB differences. Maybe Sark altered the offensive system (unlikely from his coarch camps, but it doesn’t look the same).

We need to see Caldwell next game second half no matter what. See what the fuck we got before SEC play or we are fucked with this year Arch.

I mean that’s really the perplexing thing right? His name was Manning last year and he looked great against shit competition. Why is he struggling against shit competition a year later?

Mississippi State wasn't complete shit competition

But yes, he just looked way different and more confident with everything last year.

I've decided "post-win where we look like dogshit" Surly is best Surly

After a win where we look good, it's mostly delusional Surly

After a loss, there is anger, but also a mix of sadness, rationalizing, etc.

After a win where we looked like dogshit, nobody is sad, everybody is just fucking full-throated pissed and ready to burn down the tower mob Surly.

There is no joy with barely holding on to beat a shitty UK team that hasn't won an SEC game in their last 8 attempts. You shouldn't struggle against a team like Kentucky. I'm tired of this "just be happy with a win" shit. This was a game that you had no business making even this close let alone dragging your ass to an OT win against them. We are facing a historically bad offense this year. That can't just be hand waved away. We are going to struggle at Mississippi State, a team we fucking destroyed in Arch's first true start last year. Not a single person here can say with a straight face that they think Arch will go 26-31 for 325 yards and 2 TDs against Mississippi State next week.

I'm sick about our offense, but the fact Arch looked better in it last year suggests to me that our weak OL and lackluster receiver play are largely to blame. Few guys block consistently well. No current WR or TE can get separation play after play. I'm sure not saying Arch is blameless, because he's made a TON of bad throws...but this is a shadow of the offensive group who surrounded him as a backup.

What are you guys talking about? He looked exactly like this in every game except one. He played solid vs MSU. They also won 2 games last year. If you paid attention to the other outings they were like this, but instead people choose to hold onto how he looked vs a team that let Toledo score 41 on them.

Dude.  The Call.

ETA:  I see this has been corrected, already, but still.

Also, fun fact.  The old dude on keyboards in the video is Garth Hudson.  I had thought the excess keyboards was kind of a notable thing from the video, but that fact had escaped me for years.

Yeah, we did have a more functional line and running game last year, which helped disguise Arch's flaws.  That was fool's gold.

I think there was broad belief Arch would be much better throwing downfield than Quinn was, so it was assumed he'd have no issues throwing the short or intermediate routes. Plus, he'd add a lot more ability to make plays with his legs. Some of those pluses were seen in spot duty, but not as a starter.

I guess another way of looking at it is, how would Quinn look standing behind this OL and without Golden, Bijan, Worthy, Helm, Sanders or Blue to throw to? We haven't seamlessly reloaded our weaponry, that's for sure.

Addendum to all this.

Arch appears to be more composed under pressure than Quinn.  He has less tendency to get happy feet and self-sack.

That said, what he does with that composure is not good.

Our number one objection to Ewers was the happy feet/self sack.  Number two was the long ball.  In limited work behind a better OL, Arch seemed to offer solutions to those problems.

But with further exposure, and a significantly worse OL, it turns out he's just not very good at throwing the ball.

Both you know I hold no ill will towards either of you. I encourage you two to hop on Texas Clips on YouTube and watch the condensed version of last year's Kentucky game. Kentucky has at least two to three guys off the ball all game. They played a light box and tried their version of the flyover quite a bit. A lot of zone. In my opinion that why our running game was better in spurts last year because everyone was trying to take away Quinn. Now look at this years game. A lot of man coverage from Kentucky and a lot more attempts at heating up the pocket. And not just any blitzing. What it looked like to me was a lot of QB depth rushes from the edge and blitzing and stunting in the middle. Looked lile they were trying to keep him in the pocket and then bring pressure in his face. Obviously you two know that when you do that you leave the middle wide open but if the QB doesn't see it then why wouldn't you? Kentucky's handling of the offense is night and day different. So its my opinion that they wouldn't just recklessly blitz like they did yesterday because they know 3 would hurt them on the back end.
