Considering what we thought of Colorado before the season, it's somewhat impressive that they're not getting blown out of the stadium (with the exception of Oregon, who drilled them in Eugene).

I've watched a lot of Colorado this season (I don't have any strong opinions for or against Sanders, I just like to watch football).  They've mastered the art of having the final score look closer than the actual game.

The UCLA game was 28-9 when Colorado scored with 2:38 left to make it 28-16.

Oregon St was winning 23-5 early in the 4th quarter, and 26-12 with 4:47 left.  Colorado scored with 1:42 left to make it 26-19.

USC was winning 41-14 halfway through the 3rd quarter and 48-21 with 2:14 left in the 3rd quarter.  Colorado scored with 1:43 left to make it 48-41.

To be sure, your overall point is correct - they aren't getting blown out of the stadium.  But the games are also less competitive than the final score would suggest.

Deion is a master of the back door cover.

Colorado has done about what could be expected of them so far, but the question is how together does Deion have things behind the scenes during this turmoil? 2 years ago Sark had a long losing streak here and it looked like chaos on the surface but as it turns out he has it all together behind the scenes. That's what's going to truly test whether Deion is a legit coach for this level.

It'll help him that next year he goes to a weaker conference.

"robbery" seems like a good way to re-direct the attention off of losing and coaching and somewhere else.

Deion really looks like a clown with this locker room robbery story.  Everyone who played junior high sports knows to lock stuff up in the locker room, especially on the road.  Also why would you be flashing around the jewelry like they have been all year without having it insured?  And now he’s asking for the NCAA or the Rose Bowl Organization to reimburse his kids?  That’s the biggest joke of all, literally every other coach is laughing their ass off about that.

He did the same shit at jackson state. It's bullshit victim mentality garbage. He has a script and now that they are getting their shit pushed in he's creating a new narrative.

It’s almost always a player, manager, or even coach of the team whose stuff got taken. They have the knowledge of who has what and the access to the locker room. “Oh, just gotta run back in real quick…gotta take a dook…”

Only takes a moment of opportunity. It happens on a lot of teams. People get kicked off of teams every year for it. Regardless, I’m sure there are cameras outside the locker room that will show who was in and out of it.

Interesting. And crappy. I wasn’t posting my speculation as an indictment of CU in particular, just sports teams in general. I’ve been affiliated with a lot of teams over the years and theft has always come from within. Though it’s never happened with recruits around the teams I’ve been involved with.

I'm glad for CU that it was external. That kind of distrust and dishonesty can tear teams apart.

Hats off to Deion in winning a few games early on but it’s still crazy that some, not posting here, were saying things like making the playoffs was going to happen after Week 2. They have a decent shot at winning vs Wash St, before ending the season with a loss at Utah.

I see Colorado's season ceiling as 4 wins over Colorado St, Washington St, Stanford, and splitting with the Arizona schools. Nebraska is a maybe game but I think they lose that. TCU, Oregon, USC, Oregon St, and Utah should roll them.

Other than overrating TCU was pretty damn close depending on this toss up game with WSU coming Saturday. This was always going to be the outcome to the season given the complete portal restart but with a built in quality college QB.

All the people back in September claiming Hunter and Sanders should be Heisman candidates and mentioning playoffs were easily tricked fools.

This season doesn't really say anything one way or the other about Deion as a coach. If he's able to build from here, especially once he has to recruit QBs from outside his family, will tell what kind of coach he can be.

SIAP but could Deion's sons transfer to another school this offseason if Deion took another job? I unaware if there are transfer rules about constantly switching schools every year or not.

Deion wants Shedeur to win the Heisman and/or be a 1st round pick more than everything else. Hence why they continue to prioritize the passing game even though they do not have the line to protect Shedeur.  Deion accepts 7 sacks and a loss as long as Shedeur has 5 TDs. I know Deion wants to win but IMO that is secondary.

Why would Deion leave?  Not that he isn’t doing a good job, but he certainly hasn’t shown he’s ready for anything bigger yet.

If one wants to see a complete media created fabrication, check out the hot takes on Dion to aggy. There’s no way he would get along with all of those bigoted   billionaires whose self worth is tethered to the [mis]fortunes of aggy football.

They call him The Wanderer for a reason...

It’s not just a media creation but Deion and his team. Throw out a few rumors and have Deion refuse to comment, and watch CU give him a new contract. A&M most likely has 2-3 names with a single target but the agents for many coaches will say their coach is a candidate. Time for a raise.

I'd think UCLA and USC will be the ones to get him a raise if they come open. Deion to Aggy would be hilarious because it's all the white people of Boulder but add in the stereotypical in your face racism of the south.

I’ve never seen so much hype over a coach and program that is 1-6 in conference play…

IMO the hype has dropped dramatically since their season took a downturn.

I know some are celebrating that he took a 1-win team and has 4 wins so far. Good but CU had averaged 4-5 wins per season for the previous 5 seasons prior to last year. I'm sure they're improved but in reality they've just reverted to the mean.  Even we played them in the Alamo Bowl a couple of years ago. It's not like Deion turned a consistent bottom dweller to the national title game.

While it's impossible to know, it's a decent probability that they would be at 3-4 wins if the previous coach had been given another year especially in that they had an easier schedule this year.
