The Conservative party in this country is the Democratic Party.

That is the starting point for any rational, realistic, grounded in reality understanding of "truth".

Those of us with a progressive, genuinely certifiable, 100% "Liberal" agenda HAVE NO PARTY.

Conservatives, who want to preserve America as it has been known, are Democrats.

Those who support the current President? Those who vote Republican?  Yeah, those people are fascists. Let's not mince words, let's not put pretense out there of shit that's not true.

If you vote "Red" you are a fucking authoritarian, tyrant supporting piece of fucking totalitarian shit. You are an ASSHOLE.

If you consider yourself in any way "moderate" or "middle of the road" you should be screaming your support of Nancy Pelosi and her corporatist Democrat platform from the fucking rooftops. You should be a Democrat with a fucking capital D, and Joe Biden should be your patron fucking saint.

We Liberals, who have way more in common with 6.8 billion of our fellow fucking human beings than you do, HAVE NO PARTY in this country. We only vote Democrat because they are not fucking homicidal lunatics. So GROW SOME FUCKING BALLS, you so called "moderate" Americans. Call the Republicans the pieces of shit that they are. GROW. SOME. FUCKING. BALLS.

thanks for this gem. its nothing but this for so long now. most everything else is noise repositioning this takeaway in some form or fashion.

Nebraska and Maine, the two states that currently "proportionally" split their EC votes, both allocate them by congressional district. For instance, under this scenario, WI has 8 congressional districts, 5 are GOP, 3 dem.  There would be a 5-5 split with EC votes, despite Biden winning the state.  And that's before the shenanigans that take place with the gerrymander after the HoR is increased.

That's not proportionally assigning the EC votes. That's assigning them by district.

Paraphrased as...

Today I told my kids that I’m seeking to be part of a movement to overthrow the US government by intimidating elected officials and civilians with threats and/or acts of physical violence. If that makes me a terrorist, so be it.

I once served as a member of the military and enjoy benefits of a functioning government, the same government I now wish to overthrow.

Alternately: I'm a fat, cheeto-eating troll farmer in Macedonia who's paid to wreck shop.

I'm trying to picture what she thinks the parts of a ballot machine look like that they could magically produce illegal/fraudulent votes at the top of the ticket and then change to her name mid-way thru?  She's the one that claims that "election machines in Georgia had parts changed."  I'm guessing they can only be repaired by tiny little instruments flown in from El Paso?

i mean, it's just so aggressively hypocritical.

I feel like the new crop of the GOP is the golem of the US Politician. We have believed so long that our politicians are evil and untrustworthy and just like that, the worst realization of that notion manifests right before our very eyes. many of us stare in bewilderment, but far too many others keep feeding the demon. it's heartbreaking

It reminds me of Anthony Jeselnik explaining that when he went on stage as a young comic the crowds already hated him for looking like a model, so he decided to take that and run with it and just be an over-the-top asshole.  I wonder if our collective cynicism helped create this new breed of GOP cunts.  Or maybe they just feel like they can be cunts out in the open since we all expect them to be cunts anyway.  They don't even try to be subtle about it anymore.

I still think the answer is to up the number of the HoR (435 cap is fucking dumb) and then have the Electoral College still exist, but have the EC votes associated with HoR numbers be proportional, and those related to the Senate numbers be winner takes all.

Increasing the HoR would be a compromise to make the EC closer to a PV but would it result in more or less polarized Congress (on both sides)

Which is the name of my upcoming musical about the rich and proud history of Proud Boys called "Branson in DC."  I think it'll end up rivaling "Hamilton" before it's all said and done.

I push sleds at Cross Fit

A rope, I ascend it

I signed up for Boot Camp

After two weeks it ended

(For me, for me, yes only, for me)

But now these are new days

They need my hero ways

My brain's in a cramp

Counting votes will amaze you

The totals can make you

wake up and sing praise to be

Proud, Boys

Set Designer and Lyricist?  You're hired, RDCanecutter!

We're taking some artistic licensing with a few other scenes.  There's an establishing scene where the Proud Boys are getting ready to storm the Capitol, and they find the smallest guy with the least amount of tactical shit all over him, then grab him by his gold and blue vest and say, "Are you ready?"  And the little guy says, "I've been waiting for this for the last four years!"  And then the Proud Boy Captain says, "Alright, then you lead us in there!"  I admit it's borrowed from "Rudy." which seems appropriate given who else brought us to this mess.

Throw in the Ghost of Lester Maddox swinging an axe handle, and the audience will be on the edge of their seats.

So I actually know someone going to this. I've spent all day chuckling to myself.

I'd love to hear updates from "the front."

I got bets there's at least one innocuous peripheral interaction with a DC native that's framed as "BLM's tryna kill us!"  Like perhaps buying something at a convenience store and the clerk giving incorrect change.

No, it's actually one of the nicest guys I know. Just terribly misinformed. To be honest when they casually dropped they wouldn't be at a meeting Wednesday because they were going to be in DC for the protest I'm glad I was on a phone call with them and not in person because I did a literal double take.

I have learned that this persons main news source seems to be YouTube, so that's what we are dealing with here.

Was his theater intentionally built to look like a Golden Corral?

Branson goes to Washington, baby.  This is the perfect way to end Commander Dipshit's time in power.

#csb - I hadn't been in a golden coral since HS I bet. Met up with an ex coworker for lunch (pre covid) and he wanted to go to golden coral. It was one of the new / remolded ones, the food wasn't bad. The salad bar was good. I hope to never to go to one again though

Golden Corral is one of those places to go when you pretend you have traveled to a different country, and want to take in how the people live.

Any given dish at GC can be good. the problem is that folks camp out there and eat 11 of them.

Oh, I wasn't knocking it.  Haven't been there in a long time either, but it wasn't bad by any means.  It's just look at the design and color scheme of Yakov's theater, they both look the same.  And probably both frequented by the same clientele.  I just can't imagine a buffet-based restaurant chain surviving after this, but then---a lot of their patrons won't give a shit about getting other people sick.

Alright, back to the Proud Boys.  I'm not married to the "Branson in D.C." title, but I like the theme of it.  People who never before really gave a shit about politics outside of the 2A probably, are suddenly rallied by this guy who also didn't really give a shit about politics much outside of New York building code policy.  He makes them feel like they're part of the political elite too now.  And so suddenly they care about elections, they've got their own flags and tartain plaids.  And D.C., this city far away with coastal elites, that it never occurred for them to visit.  Is now going to be the center of their universe this week.  And are they gonna see the Lincoln Memorial or the Declaration of Independence or the Smithsonian?  Nope, they're going to go there to scream and try to get away with as many gun law violations as they possibly can in 36 hours.
