As there is no thread for today’s mass in Chicago, where the Catholic pope broadcast his message for today, I will link that message.

And for those who do not identify with Christianity, much less Catholicism, I want to include a purely secular iconic song that I think mirrors what the pope has to say.

What is "meaningful change"?  I'm pretty sure that is what is happening right now.  It is effecting my businesses in a meaningful way...financially and logistically.

This is basically what I said to the wife (no pics) as we walked back to our vehicle after going to the No Kings event in Claremont, CA.  Terrific event.  A lot more showed up than I expected.  And I have more optimism now than I did before the event.  But now how do we continue and channel this momentum to actually effect some meaningful change?

Maybe start communicating with Democrats in Congress that millions of Americans were ready to fight tyranny on June 14th and they need to get the message and start becoming a very vocal opposition force. Call out the media for not covering this regime truthfully. Call out all of the trump unconstitutional bullshit. Look to muck it up for Republicans at every possible opportunity. But it needs to be very visible and very vocal. Be the leadership this country can rally behind. Stop treating this like politics and start fighting for the American people.

Democrat politicians have just come off so fake, cowardly, and regimented in the face of this attack on our way of life and government.

Because in the end this country will need people to vote for to get these fascists out. And people to fight tooth and nail to make sure we get that opportunity to vote fairly.

Well, ackshually, it was 3 to 1 red.

Right, it certainly isn’t flipping anytime soon (although 3:1 for Trump seems excessive). But the Boise area has had major west coast influx lately so I’m not surprised by the turnout. Definitely isn’t comparable to those freaks in the ID panhandle.

I believe a lot of the Democrats in Congress were out protesting with folks. I know in NYC, Schumer was at the Brooklyn protest (which I understand was absolutely massive as well...the one I was at was only ONE march in Manhattan.  There were multiple events in the city).

Google says there was little/no post-protest rioting last night.  Thank you to everyone for self-policing.  You didn’t give the Federal Government cause to escalate.

When you’ve lost Fayetnam…

This so great, but F’ville is very much a blue dot within a sea of red. Walking around town there last week, I saw lots of pride and trans flags, and local elected officials there are mostly progressive. It’s starting to spread as NWA grows as a metro area, but the rest of the state still makes up for it. :/

Good stuff yesterday.

The handsmaid tale ladies in Fort Worth reminded me of Bill Burr's classic  "threw their Gucci booted heels over the fence of oppression" bit

Yeah you way out kicked your coverage there brisket. Not sure what else to say, she mighta been your best accomplishment. It’s ok. I’ve done that twice, caused two high quality women to fall for me so don’t take that as a critique that isn’t also levied against myself. Kudos.

Early estimates have over 5 million people protesting yesterday. No deaths, one shooting potentially linked to a protest in Utah

by comparison, Jan 6 had 70,000 protestors, with 1,600 getting arrested and two people dying

I heard 11 million. No idea where that comes from. Our local protest swelled from about 300 in April to over 1000 yesterday, and I think we were around 3 million nationally for Hands Off.

I heard Little Rock had a big crowd of over 7k.  That's huge for Arkansas.  There were towns up and down I-40 holding events.  It's not all F'Ville.
