You can't just say random shit and then people just do stuff that's not how being president works. Again you know so much better than this.

I just. Come on man. I know we are all feeling shit right now, but this is just wrong. Yes. Yes he can. That’s not how being president SHOULD work, but it absolutely does.

except...all his staff and aides are quarantined and he's all alone. Normally you would be correct, but there's no one around to help him do anything.

Maybe he will find a friend in a drawer. A lonely drawer. One that hasn’t seen the light of day in a while. One that contains a nickel plated instrument that is loaded and ready to do a good deed. I’m not saying, well, yes I am.

It takes a lot less than you think. It’s more than a tweet, but it doesn’t require him to do much more than issue the order. He could order a fucking air strike on Toronto without much trouble.

Canada has a ban on travel from the US. How the bombers gonna get there? Duh!

Right he's sitting all alone in the fucking residence.

That would seem like a pretty big fucking hole in our national security if the president can't respond because some people are out sick or quarantined.

I know you're trying to down play this for reasons, but you know damn well that if a military crisis happened we would have the capability to respond immediately.

Also I love how you think people are just going to stop following the president's orders. Maybe they won't drop a bomb on Toronto because it's an unlawful order, but what keeps him from removing troops from all of Europe or the Korean peninsula? Or from moving carriers to the coast of China? Where's the line?

Maliciously hoping someone would die is beneath me, but sometimes things just happen. Look, it is what it is.

Did you have a problem wanting Bin Laden taken out?

This guy and his republican conspirators are bigger threats and more dangerous enemies to you and me than Bin Laden could ever have hoped to be.

Pelops I should counter with $3600 and call it a day.

This guy is no different than some old guy at a bar in Mesquite watching Fox News. Except the Texan likely kiwis decent food and can drive a car.

He’s going to do more than that. Brace yourself. He’s going to release all kinds of sensitive info. He doesn’t care who gets hurt....he’ll cost people their lives, without hesitation.

The CIA will step in and Donnie will have a little "mishap" before it gets too far.

They released a joint agency video yesterday regarding election security so it's probably one of the two?

The fellow with the pineapple reminded me of the boogaloo people with all their Hawaiian regalia. Don't know why he went for the Rate my Room look when the other agencies used a regular official backdrop. It's about a ten minute or so video.

(Should clarify: mentioned the pineapple not because Krebs is a boogaloo person; the pineapple was distracting. I am a 'look a squirrel' type of visual person)

I've been in the camp that believes much of the talking about violence after the election is overblown, that the fat dorks and hillbillies with rifles aren't going to do anything, etc.

But Trump's rhetoric and what I'm seeing lately has me a bit worried that I might be wrong. I'm not sure how widespread it will be, but there will be violence if he loses. He's calling for it. It's barely even at "dog whistle" level anymore and approaching straight up calling for violence and attacks on liberals and PoC.

You can't reasonably say it's baseless when we've already got reporting from Republican officials who on record are contemplating ways to get states that vote for Biden to cast their electors for Trump anyway.  As a practical matter, it will be very hard for them to do so in most states. Every state already has laws in place casting their electors for the winner of the popular vote within the state, so new laws would need to be passed very quickly. Pennsylvania is effectively out, as the GOP doesn't have a trifecta there. But it does in Arizona, Texas, Florida, Ohio, and Georgia. That means it's not impossible. However, Congress still has to certify the electoral vote count in a joint session so if there are any obvious shenanigans the Dems can object to the certification. If that happens I'm not really sure what would be next.
They're investigating every possible avenue to steal the election but the most obvious one is the Supreme Court, which has already intervened with no legal justification in a Presidential election before. But their actual ability to steal the election depends on their ability to convincingly dispute vote counts and raise enough confusion and it will be hard for them to do so if the results resemble current polling.

This is the right take on it with respect to using formal channels to steal. Where the hope to put it all together is with voter suppression, tossing valid ballots, and then contesting the popular vote to gain control of states so that they can then take it to the courts. What we have to do is force a landslide, even with headwinds from voter suppression. That’s the only sure way out.

Q twitter is going crazy over the FBI announcement at 10 this morning. They're sure that Christopher Wray is quitting because Trump is outting him and that Trump is finally going to finish cleaning out the swamp today.

I wouldn't be surprised if Wray steps down, but I'd like it to be after the election. Bad things are coming and the FBI needs to be around.

Earlier this morning, under the name of a washed up, depressed, anthropomorphic cartoon horse actor, I made a post in the Melania hates Christmas thread.  The gist of my post was remember when Michelle Obama and Laura Bush had their beefs with Jenna Jameson and Ginger Lynn in light of the Stormy Daniels, Melania twitter fight.  I made a point of spelling everyone's name correctly.  I double checked that it's Laura, not Lara.  I made sure to spell the names of the porn actresses correctly.  Meanwhile, the President of the United States can't fucking spell forest and just tweeted that stupid shit out to the world.

Really gotta wonder about a coup attempt that ultimately resulted in these bad actors refusing to state on the record that their target broke the law.

That doesn't seem like first rate coup-ing but I am not an expert on overthrowing a government.

forrest fires. Also, he’s gonna win CA, guys!

I’ve seen forest fires described as many things: raging, destructive, devastating, inferno, deadly.   But I’ve never seen one described as “ridiculous”.

I’m sure this will help with his bold “let’s win California” strategy. Let’s see if it pays off...
