Somewhere next to a lake is a bait shop with a drunk guy selling worms, and that guy was supposed to be a senator, except somebody crossed the streams and Tuberville got the job instead.

Tuberville is also said to be crafting legislation for Academy athletes to defer their service obligation if they want to pursue professional sports.  The discussion within the military community is well, divided, at best.  The fact that it is coming from this dumbfuck, in addition to my personal feelings on the matter, just scream that it is a terrible proposal.
Athletes attend the academies for opportunities much bigger than professional sports.  Yes, there have been notable athletes who had great pro careers from the academies, but it should never be the priority. Roger Staubach, Chad Hennings, & Alexandro Villanueva among others are very well known academy athletes who served before taking their opportunity in the pros.  Even David Robinson did 2 years before the NBA.

Tuberville loves fucking the military.

Republicans want to turn our military into the russian armed forces. They've been slobbering overthem for fuckin' years. See: ted cruz drooling over their ultramasculine propaganda and criticising our "WOKE!!!" servicemembers.

They will pick someone dumb and worse.  This is Alabama, the only bar the GOP has to clear is “not a mall food court sex pest.”

I don't trust Alabama of all places to elect a sane human being as senator to replace Tuberville but there is no way they could possibly do worse. So I guess yay?

Mr. Tubberville goads to Montgomery?

Well shit, putting him in the Governor's mansion just might be the only way that Alabama can get him to move from Florida to Alabama

Yeah, like Texas can talk.  At least Alabama elected one D Senator in recent years.

Y’all are a posse full of stereotyping, bandwagon-jumping-on front runners incessantly pissing on my native state and if I didn’t love Surly, by Gawd I’d quit reading it every fucking day. My first  cousin was Walter Flowers, one of those Alabama Democrats who spoke up in his day and voted to impeach Tricky Dick. Tommy Tatertown will only continue to erode the image of Alabama each time he opens his mouth. He’ll make prople wish for George Wallace (a Democrat). To paraphrase Wallace,  think this when Tuberville takes the oath of office as guv of Alabama: “Stupidity then, stupidity now, stupidity fowevvah!”

No idea if this is true, but Drudge also had it.

The fact that we now live in the "college athletic coach to United States Senate-pipeline" era is yet another piece of evidence that, even standing alone, would merit total destruction of our planet by a rogue meteor.
