You do not, under any circumstances, gotta hand it to the Nazis

To be fair, Adolf "Adidas" Dassler, Rudolf Dassler (Puma), Hugo Boss, and Ferdinand Porsche were Nazis.... VW was founded by the Nazis... and Mercedes-Benz were run by Nazis.

They all make good quality shit.  They just happened to be founded/run by shitty people.

Marge is a shitty person, but as a former competitive powerlifter, I can acknowledge that she has good lifting technique.

I was at a car museum somewhere in Ohio, and from a distance I saw a really stunning black 30's-era Mercedes limousine.  I said to my wife "man, that looks like something Hitler would have ridden in".

We walked up and the placard showed the entire history of the car, including the photo of Hitler riding in it during a parade.  It was one of his personal vehicles.  Kinda creeped me out, to be honest.

Odds are good that Harlan Crow bought it after your museum visit as a new daily driver.

I worked in Hollywood for about 8 years, and it never ceased to amaze me how many of my Jewish friends drove Mercedes or Porches, and wore Hugo Boss suits.

Despite my father looking like he came out of Gestapo central casting from Swabian heritage more pure than Erwin Rommel, he brought up a good point to me once after he bought a Ford pickup truck.  I inquired as to why he'd finally buy a Ford when he despised Henry Ford's anti-semitism for most of his life?  We would all be shocked at how many companies around the world were built by people who were anti-semitic, owned slaves, misogynists, supported tyrants and despots, and otherwise borderline sociopathic.  But Ford still supported the war effort.  And despite Daimler-Benz, and BMW, and Volkswagen and a host of other German companies who participated in the Nazi Wermacht effort and even committed was crimes of their own---they eventually shifted and tried to do some good with their companies.

There are no statues of fallen Nazi leaders in Germany.  They do not ban books about their Holocaust.  They criminalized affiliation with Nazism.  They teach their children what happened, why it was wrong, and that it should never happen again.  They do not embrace ignorance nor denial.  They do not celebrate stupidity and naivety.  Those companies built a war machine and millions suffered.  But those companies now educate people on what happened.  They rebuilt cities and forests and schools and churches.  They gave over their vehicles to the allies to transport surrendered arms to depots.  Those car companies drove workers to rip down Reich propaganda posters and Swastikas and have them destroyed.  Most people are capable of change.  We should not forget our mistakes and sins and transgressions, ever.  But we can always grow.

And then you have people complaining about Confederate statues coming down, military base name changes, being too woke, and DEI making white kids feel bad about slavery.  MTG is a glaring example of all of this.  She would do well to look at the worst people of the 20th century who somehow found a way to get on a path of honesty, acknowledgement, and decency.  But fascism has come to our shores.  But it didn't fly, sail, or drive.  It was apparently here the whole fucking time.

Jim Jordan is one of the 20 best wrestlers this country ever produced. “Bill Cosby Himself” is a landmark of American Comedy.  Charles Lindbergh was a pioneering aviator who experienced tragedy. Far from the image of a thuggish clod, Stalin had a beautiful singing voice and wrote truly lovely poetry.

And yet it’s Trump that’s in the wwe hall of fame.

Think about what would go through your head 10 years ago if I told you, "So this gameshow host will go to be President.  And he'll grift all the money away for his post-presidency library on legal expenses for a porn star he raw-dogged while his own personal Andre the Giant son was at home with his post-partum mother.  And his scheme is helped hatched by WWE chief, Vince McMahon who was also involved in some sex cover-ups/bribes at the time.  And the closest thing to a monument to this man will be his induction into the WWE Hall of Fame."

So when "Hacksaw" Jim Duggan is the next Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, somebody remind me that all of this is still "real."

My buddy Cos is from Romania.  He's Jewish.  His family back in Romania has one of Hitler's more famous Mercedes.  I am not too sure what to think of it...

Yeah, we did tours of the Porsche and Mercedes museums a few years ago.  One of them (Porsche, I think) at least acknowledged the Nazi ties.  Mercedes was like "for some reason, all of our factories were destroyed in 1944 and 1945".

I don’t wear Adidas, Puma or Hugo Boss, and I wouldn’t buy a Benz or Porsche. Quality or not, I like Italian a lot better than ze Germans.

If I liked viewing bad built butch bodies, I’d watch, but alas I do not.

Not hurt at all.    And it was not my intent in any way to criticize your liking his music.  My point was that Nugent has always been an asshole. Someone like Alice Cooper was just doing a shtick.   I’ve always thought Nugent was the persona he portrayed on stage.

And you are correct; Why would I need to comment on the wokeness of the lyricist who wrote “Wang Dang Sweet Poontang. “

( Trivia:  Nugent stiffed the cowriter out of writing credits and the money for Stranglehold )

I know a guy who liked Nugent enough to see his concert in Dallas, and then travel to the city where his next concert was held. So, two shows in a row.

Those two shows were carbon copies of each other. That dude is a bottom feeder among the ranks of musicians.

I’ve learned 2 things from this exchange. Crockett has a mastery of English and public speaking I’ll never possess… and Greene would probably beat the fuck out of me. This is a lot to process.

What’s the problem here? I thought the president had full immunity to commit crimes?

No President can be President without that…. Washington and Jefferson would’ve been convicted after leaving office - because they allowed micro plastics to be injected into their slave babies.

Everybody knows that.

My dad always told me, “try to avoid getting into a bar fight with someone who looks like their nose has been broken several times.”

if you extrapolate a soccer hooligan’s broken nose to Marge’s entire bad built butch body, you really need to walk away before she demonstrates why, genetically, Denisovans do not feel pain. It is both a superpower and the reason that they mostly died out as a species….they never learned to tap out.

I need to add this one to the "guilty pleasure" movie thread. John Cleese and the degenerate gamblers make the movie. Lovitz is great too.

I have 2 problems with this scenario...

1. Pat Sajak is a MAGAt

2. Clearly you never saw the few episodes of Wheel that Vanna hosted when Pat was sick.  Spoiler:  She sucks at it.
