It's Abu Ghraib all over again.

Except literally everyone who thought that that was a bad look for our country is gone, and we're left with leaders who were probably asking, "What's the big deal? They deserve worse." back then.

Before you go nonlinear on us, yes, Trump won the vote (theoretically).  That said, his "support" is not growing.  Now, I am aware that he's going to try (and likely succeed) in suspending the next election.  But he has really shitty approval ratings.

Say what you will about that problematic 41% but I’ve never been more certain about 4% of a group of people needing to be shot into the sun.

White House removes Wall Street Journal from Scotland press pool over Epstein bombshell

The White House is removing the Wall Street Journal from the pool of reporters covering the president’s weekend trip to Scotland, White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt told POLITICO.

The move follows the Journal’s report alleging that President Donald Trump sent a sexually suggestive message to Jeffrey Epstein in 2003.Trump has denied the existence of the letter and POLITICO has not verified it.

Tarini Parti, a White House reporter for the Wall Street Journal, had been scheduled to serve as the print pooler for the final two days of Trump’s four-day trip to his golf courses in Turnberry and Aberdeen, Scotland.

Some district judge is going to go off on them given the AP precedent and the lack of even that flimsy excuse.

I chuckle thinking how angry he gets that his lawsuit goes before an African American judge appointed by Obama. Shame it wasn't a female to boot.

Also read the judge in question is gay -- that'll drive the MAGAts extra special crazy.

The federal government punishing the press for what they print is a longstanding American tradition.

wait, I’m being told now that it’s actually forbidden by the first amendment of the US constitution.

Also, I might guess that the suit was filed in the Miami Division (rather than WPB/Fort Pierce) because his hack lawyer, Brito, is in Miami.

Likely as not, Brito filed it in Miami because convenient/lazy/in a hurry.  Given the judicial assignment, I'm guessing Brito is getting roasted by Trump.

I know about Jap Road. Been to the Boondocks many times as a kid and fed the gators in Taylor’s bayou. I’m almost positive there is/was a Jap Lane as well in Orange County if not Vidor proper.

Yes, Jap Lane in Vidor/Orange County. Looks like its now called Japanese Lane.

Story behind the name: http://hirasaki.net/Family_Stories/Kishi_Colony/Kishi.htm

The website is of a George Hirasaki from Vidor, now a professor at Rice, who I've gotten to work with.

CSB: Back when George was at Shell, he was first boss of my own advisor who I had while at UT. Also, George's brother lived in quarantine with the astronauts from Apollo 11 after getting back from the moon.

I more than dabble in pacificism but wish ill upon Miller. He also has a tic that makes me think he’s close to shorting out and self-destructing.

One can hope.

Not the first time I’ve referenced it but Esper’s book on his time as sec def illustrates how much the cabinet hated Millers guts and punked the shit out of him often. But he had and has trumps ear and the same shit he spews on camera is exactly what he does behind the scenes.

A federal judge sentenced former Louisville Police detective Brett Hankison to 33 months in prison for the shots he fired during the fatal 2020 raid on Breonna Taylor's apartment.

The July 21 sentence was in defiance of a last-minute request from federal prosecutors that Hankison receive only a one-day sentence.

Western District of Kentucky Judge Rebecca Grady Jennings said she was “troubled” by the prosecutors' July 16 sentencing memorandum, as well as their arguments towards leniency in court on Monday.

NSIAP but wow. the quiet parts are no longer out loud, they are the ONLY parts for some. it seems we are accelerating very quickly

not sure you can get the actual thing, so its a media outlet commenting on it. around minute 7 it starts

there is so much wrong here to comment on, but the most alarming to me is these kids are pissed off. They show up fuming fucking mad and can't form a logical thought at all. this is much further along than I had thought. This is "beating random people in the streets" next. This is whole episode is violence. These kids, and the men, are lost. I'd be packing my bags, if you haven't already.

that first guy is mentally unstable. he was foaming at the mouth for validation from his peers. He is a walking social media disease - substance is irrelevant, being liked and validated is what mattered.

Here is the thing - I just watched the end of the full jubilee video - and some of the other right wingers were open and honest, and took issue with the overt fascism and racism. That was nice to see. But make not mistake - that first guy and a few of the others tell Mehdi to leave - they have friends, they have families, and they are happy to now be that guy. Ergo they are culturally accepted in this country for being that guy. A few months back it was "don't call me a nazi", Elmo isn't a nazi, and...........

I am a nazi and here is my platform of hate.

Applause.

Even for me being the cynic I am , its still shocked me to see kids willing to verbalize violence like this. And it is violence. Opening telling an American citizen to leave "because I don't want you here" is violence.
