Central Michigan is running the damn triple this year.

SJSU was caught completely off guard in the first half against Central Michigan. Apparently CMU brought in a bunch of old Army coaches on offense.

Then in the second half CMU drives went:

-3 and out

-3 and out

-turnover on downs

-FG

-3 and out

That’s not to excuse our run blocking but CMU was coming out in 13 and 14 personnel against SJSU in the opener and it took a half to make an adjustment. CMU also threw for 13 passes the entire game.

Not really comparing apples to apples.

The south end zone frat dudebros were the guys getting the boo birds out first but good lord the whole south end of the stadium was happy to join in. Not great, Bob.

I have more concerns than I did last week

I mean the fact it started there makes perfect sense, especially in this day and age. Students see a guy who is their age and goes to their school who is making millions in NIL for that

That was some really poor play.

The talent level on offense is way below than what I expected.  I thought Texas was capable of winning every game last year all season but it’s all uphill this season.

I don’t think Arch sucks.
This team is going 11-1 or 10-2, making the playoffs and we will be a favorite in every game we play. Fight me!

Sorry about that bet, Wulaw.

On the bright side, if Vegas is as slow to adjust to us as they were in 2010, you make that $1k back easily. I made about that much on 2010 Okie State game.

Why? I think Sark decided since the committee doesn’t care about the score board and how much we beat an opponent by then neither should he? lol, 😂 I don’t know. I want to know what the fuck happened in practice all damn week. I respect Sark isn’t the kind of coach to publicly throw players under the bus and air dirty laundry…but if he can’t see that our defense looks pro ready and our offense is an inconsistent damp mess then he might need his eyes examined.

Watching the speed, execution, innovativeness, scheme, and effort by Georgia, Tennessee, A&M, and Notre Dame today makes me wonder what the fuck Sark has been doing for the last several games.

So obviously Arch is a concern because he looks like a less talented Garrett Gilbert at this point, but holy shit the rest of the offense looks like shit from a talent standpoint.  OL, RB, WR. Did Sark just mail in recruiting/development?

Sark needs to get rid of Flood and Milwee and get a real OC/QB coach or we are not sniffing a title during his tenure. He is a damn good CEO and program manager but not a good coach.

Sounds about right.

If Texas Tech wins the Big 12 (they sure have put in the money from their billionaire dude) and Aggy wins the SEC and Penn state wins the Big10 this is PROOF we are in a simulation and they just don’t care anymore what they do to us. They are bored. 🥱

Reality will eventually hit you hard you. Our D will fight like hell, and we will still lose to OU by 10-14 points. UGA will roll us.

Listening to Sark's post game press conference makes me ragey. He keeps bringing up the positives to divert the attention away from a shitty offensive performance against an overmatched opponent. Nobody cares about what you did right. It's fucking UTEP! Talk about why your offense continues to shit the bed year and after while you keep saying we just need to do this or that and we will be just fine. Can you imagine Saban and Kirby talking about what the team did well after a game like this?

OL - concerns over Flood's recruiting have been percolating for a while over on the recruiting boards. After that first big class where he landed Banks and Campbell, it's been very hit-or-miss, although the sunshine pumpers would always handwave away concerns as usual. Baker has been a disappointment, Campbell is still a penalty machine and Stroh has been a disaster.

RB - we apparently thought our RB room was fine and declined to go after a transfer portal option. The few of us who raised concerns were shouted down, again, by the usual sunshine pumpers (seeing a theme here?) who crowed about how great Baxter and Clark would be coming off of pretty serious injuries.

QB - we bet the farm on Arch being a top quartile QB this year and a significant improvement over Ewers. Massive miss by pretty much everyone on the planet, he's solidly in the bottom quartile of P5 QBs so far this season. Not even the biggest doomers could have anticipated him being this bad as a redshirt sophomore with nearly 200 career passes under his belt so far.

WR - who the fuck knows. We hit in the transfer portal the last few years, this year Mosley was hurt. This room can still look a lot better with a competent QB throwing to them.

The aggy bedwetting on this board is the most bitchmade shit ever.

It’s hilarious tbh. It’s one of the more interesting things to observe as a young fan who didn’t grow up with that rivalry. The olds literally use them a barometer. It’s weird.

3 weeks into the season I have major concerns downgrading my expectations to a 6 to 8 win team.

Our offense is hot dog shit. I haven't seen something this anemic since Sean Watson was our offensive coordinator. This makes GDGD blush with pride.

Our QB can't throw a 5 yard pass . This makes every other position hard to evaluate because who the hell knows if they are just giving up on plays or what.

The team is atypically undisciplined, we get flagged for bs all the time. The team looked like they wanted to start a fight with fucking UTEP for God's sake.

Milwee should be fired tomorrow. He's either fucked up Ewers and Manning or he's just on another planet than Sark is. Either way our QBs are officially regressing.

We need to hire a real OC. Let Flood focus on the OLine because whatever he's doing ain't working there either.

dude, we did not "bet the farm" on Arch.  I know you are very young, but "betting the farm" would be recruiting Arch and telling his family you won't recruit another QB in the next class.

At least we can all now understand that Sark would rather have had an injured Ewers vs a healthy Manning last year after all the bitchmade whining how we would have won a championship with manning. I have hope that since Sark made the right call there.

Sark is in trouble since the only way to salvage the season is to "Cam Newton" Arch. Not sure how Arch and his family will take it but my guess would be, not real well.

Manning is a 20 year old who's only resume is his last name.  I expect that he could be a bust.  My question is why keep hanging on to Flood.  He's a grown man and he sucks ass.  It is embarrassing Sark is hanging on to him.

Sark needs to upgrade from Flood.  The OL is holding him back.  Same story for near on 20 years at this University.  fix it.

Well, there's 3 generations then. The young fans like you who don't know anything about the rivalry. The olds, as you say, who allegedly use them as a barometer. Then the really olds, like me, who look down on them with contemptuousness.

That said, it was still an impressive win against Notre Dame in South Bend. I found myself wishing for Marcel Reed on the Texas roster in the first half, and I did NOT have that on my bingo card in the preseason.

It’s a Surly tradition. At one point last year according to geniuses we were going to lose to Vandy, pig, and a top 5 A&M team. Welp.

That said I do think we are significantly worse this year and those blind squirrels may fall on a dildo (or whatever the saying is) this year.

It hinges on Arch. The switch needs to flip. I'm thinking we're going to have him running a lot more against Sam Houston, to see if that does something for his mental state.

I'm not saying there aren't other issues, but all of them are tough to compensate for when Manning is playing this poorly, and a lot of them diminish in importance if he plays a lot better.

I feel that the term hot dog shit is vague and could be referring to two different substances.

I need an official review on this “dog” and how many they sold in section 109 today. This offering is a 𝗞𝗼𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗻 𝗖𝗼𝗿𝗻 𝗗𝗼𝗴

A hot dog + mozzarella cheese combo dipped in ube batter, fried in panko, dusted with ube powder, and drizzled with a sweet and spicy honey. It looks like a purple turd but seems like it might taste amazing.

Maybe our offense just appears like it’s a turd.
I just know on every metric that matters our defense is in the top 30 of every category and our offense is not and offense and play calling and QB whispering is supposed to be sarks super power. The usual suspects that we want to beat are in the top 30 in all the metrics that matter on both sides of the ball,

this is a good site to refer to thru out the year. It really helps me understand why some teams have a trajectory that’s playoff bound and some don’t and can’t even get lucky, https://www.teamrankings.com/college-football/stat/giveaways-per-game

it makes sense why some teams just don’t make it over the hump. Penalties. Not converting on 3rd and 4th down. Red zone woes which have dogged sark the last couple of years. Even though we made the playoffs two years running and yes beat Saban’s Bama a coach Sark knew how to scheme against and spent several months planning to beat him. We were not in the top 20 in many categories on offense the last three years and elite talent and defense has made the difference imo. PK needs to be recognized.

Sark should install zone read and let Manning take the hits. When he wants to start putting  some touch on the ball and get the accuracy back he can call the pass plays. Otherwise he should roll out, zone read, option and throw bombs. That is all he can do.
