Yes, I'm telling you that actual election results are what carry weight. Because duh. Yes, it's a small step. No, it doesn't guarantee anything in a year's time. Yes, it's going to be a long fucking 3 years regardless. (Who is suggesting differently to any of those statements, by the way?). But to play it off as insignificant--ass-kickings across the board, a hard shift left virtually everywhere, all with record turnouts--is pretty naive and bitchy. You don't have to live your life with cunt mode fully engaged at all times, man.

you shush. everything is fine.

He's a disciple. He openly called himself a Democratic Socialist last night. He's of the branch, so of course it's the same platform. Now I don't have much worry that he "gets" it after seeing him speak last night, but the priority should be to build that coalition and hammer home the working-man talking points and make sure everyone knows that they are included in this future. Young men as well.

To me it's instructive that the answer to every pundit's favorite question "What's wrong with young men?" is that economic insecurity far outweighs the racist and/or sexist motivations ascribed to that group

I mean, you are probably not super far off, but before times to me is 2016. Covid was much less traumatic than that.

I actually liked the COVID days. WFH, plenty of day drinking, dotard lost re-election. It was great.

A lot more family time as well for those of us with kids in school. Family walks every day. I know dogs wish they could make life like that all the time.

We have degrees from a once-prestigious university and got high paying jobs and petit bourgeois lifestyles to show for it. COVID mostly did not suck for us. But it was awful for many. And deadly.

There is a point where people step outside and realize the cloudless sky is in fact blue everyday and not whatever color the cult is claiming that day. At least that is my hope. The fever has to break at some point.

Oh no more delicious shawarma instead of boiled hotdogs aaaaahhhhhhh 😩

The best meal I’ve ever eaten was a Döner kebab near the Fontaine Saint-Michel. The French do it right because they throw fries on the top too.

Buddy’s and I after graduation had a whole backpack trip planned. So we all plan to meet in Paris. I have to go Austin to Houston to Newark - train to Penn - Penn to JFK to Paris to Hostel.
I was the last one to arrive so everyone was already ready to hit the town.
I’m full on running on adrenaline when we finally stop for food around lunch time on Paris.

I was poor and hoarding my $ for the trip so I only ate what was freely given on the plane (crackers and beer). And I didn’t eat the meal bc I was asleep when it came out.

So by lunch my body wouldn’t really move. Like I felt like it was kind of ‘locked up’.

So there was a Doner stand and being that I was running on empty we all decide to eat.

Idk what a full body orgasm feels like. And I’ve never had a prostate massage. But the way women describe how they orgasm, I think that happened to me. Upon eating the Doner (with the French fries / French style Doner) a wave of warmth radiated from my toes to my finger tips. I was 20 lbs lighter and a sense of euphoria came over me.

My guess is that my blood sugar was damn near zero so any food would have done that to me, but dammit if that fountain Doner didn’t rock my world. I’ve had many since and they’re always great but not worth really remembering details about, but I always remember that one…..

So, it wouldn't be a morning after an election day without my pessimistic take.  So, here it is.

What this means is that over the next year, the fascists are going to take a super-maximalist, accelerationist approach to cramming their evil down America's collective throat.  I'm talking "ram a firehose of fascism down our throat and crank it to max pressure" stuff.  AND, they are going to octuple their efforts to suppress voting, shut down polling places, and just flat-out interfere with voting in any place where democrats may be found.  The chances of Trump simply declaring a made-up national emergency (or creating one, like by literally going to war with Mexico or some stupid shit) and cancelling elections (enforced by the national guard and ICE, which will see its mission vastly expanded as they function as the Trump regime's STASI) just went up materially.

The next year is going to be hell on earth.

And if the dems have any fucking brains at all, they should WELCOME it.  No compromise.  No quarter.  No nothing.  Stand firm and fight, and make the fascists reveal themselves for what they are: grifting fucksticks stealing our nation for the benefit of their oligarch buddies just to serve the interest of their hateful little egos.  Make them amp up their atrocities and theft, and make them do it out in broad daylight.  And yield NOT A SINGLE FUCKING INCH OF GROUND.  Just stand firm and tell them "no.  Fuck off."

mid terms are a long way off

we're about to see a lot fuckery

You are correct:

https://www.newsweek.com/trump-demands-voting-changes-hours-after-major-democrat-wins-10994395

President Donald Trump is calling for sweeping changes to the election system, hours after Democrats notched a series of victories in statewide elections.

"Pass Voter Reform, Voter ID, No Mail-In Ballots. Save our Supreme Court from "Packing," No Two State addition, etc. TERMINATE THE FILIBUSTER!!!" Trump wrote in a post on Truth Social on Tuesday night.

On Tuesday, Democrats won gubernatorial races in Virginia and New Jersey, and the New York City mayoral race.

California voters also approved Proposition 50, a measure championed by Governor Gavin Newsom that gives the party control over congressional redistricting—a move that could help Democrats reclaim as many as five Republican-held seats. The measure was designed to cancel out redistricting changes in Texas that likely favored Republicans.

Trump's call for strict voter ID laws and an end to mail-in voting stems from his repeated, though unsubstantiated, claims that election fraud gives Democrats an advantage, particularly in high-turnout elections. Meanwhile, his opposition to expanding the Supreme Court and granting statehood to Washington, D.C., or Puerto Rico reflects concerns that those changes would strengthen Democratic influence by adding liberal justices and additional Democratic seats in Congress.

The Democrats saw a string of victories on Tuesday night, almost a year after their loss to Trump in November 2024.

CyFairISD had all 3 of the seats won by the woke, commie, liberal candidates, this flipping the Board to a 4-3 majority. They will have to make tough decisions and undo some things the last group did like displaying the 10 Commandments, supporting a Bible class in Public schools as a "history" course, banning evil books, defunding librarians on campus, reducing/eliminating bus routes and not supporting teachers to have more control in classrooms. Can't wait for the leftist Utopia that maintains secular education, builds up the libraries, and supports teachers. The right wing nutjobs on our neighborhood pages are all up in their feels right now, it's glorious.

A lot of the stuff you mentioned isn't a school board thing, it's mandated by the state. At the very least the 10 Commandments shit. Pretty sure the Bible as History as well.

Can anyone else spot the ancient coastline on this map

As someone who loves (1) electoral politics and (2) geography, I absolutely adore shit like this.

Of course, there's real good reason for that.  The coascoastline from 100 Million years ago left fertile soil that was ideal for plantation agriculture.  It's not that the only plantations were there; it's that the plantations that were there could grow larger and required more slaves.  And when those slaves were converted into sharecropper-serfs tied to the land, they stayed.  Hence, those counties remain disproportionately Black and disproportionately Democratic.

The past is never past, man.  An ancient coastline dictates voting behavior in the American South.  The 19th Century imperial borders between Germany and Russia dictates voting behavior in Poland.  You just can't understand electoral politics if you don't have an appreciation for history.

Local SB chooses to adopt and offer the Bible class. It's offered by the state now as an optional class. I doubt it stays in here, but we will see.

SBs can help fight back against the 10 Commandments bullshit. The last board had several 7 Mountains believers who push this stuff.

The last Board also chose to remove 13 chapters of our kids textbooks that covered vaccines, climate change and contributions of people of color throughout history. This also forced the ISD curriculum advisors to re-write the chapters to remove the controversial parts, which creates more work for no reason. I expect that to be reversed immediately.

The last board proposed, but failed, to pass a measure to add chaplains to the schools, which is another way to push religion through schools. Also would be a waste of money to hire them when we have huge budget deficits.

One thing that was added a few years ago was a LOHE for the district that has reduced the overall per student tax revenue to the lowest in the state, around $9500. This can't be changed until 2028, but it will have to be removed since the ISD can't operate without that money. They are getting less than the 10k voucher that private schools get from the state, how insane is that?

Previous Board leader is a trustee for a private school and was a huge proponent of vouchers and Christian Nationalism. I will be happy to see her greedy fat ass gone in January.

Not sure how much of textbooks are digital these days, I assume all of them. Which hopefully makes adding removed sections easy.

We're like 25 years into the word "socialism" being thrown around outside of what it actually means, and now "communism" is going the same way? I really wish Bernie (or whoever came up with it) used a different term than Democratic Socialism. What he and 99% of the "super progressives" are advocating for work within the capitalist economic system. It's about regulating capitalism and taxing enough to ensure people have a bare minimum quality of life in which they can eat, have a roof, and see a doctor instead of dying from curable ailments. Even rent controls work within capitalism (something I'm not a big fan of but at least it's something). The closest I've heard of his policies is opening some government owned grocery stores but they would be in competition with privately owned grocers so what's the big fucking deal? I've never heard any politician or candidate of note suggest that the government take over Walmart, Mansanto, Ford, etc. The closest I've heard, in fact, came from anti-socialist ultra-capitalist Donald Trump who had the government take ownership shares in Nippon Steel. Unless and until we can start using these terms correctly there is no hope in my opinion. Just scary buzzwords that are now entrenched. The right wing meltdowns about Mandami are pure fucking insanity, literal breaks with reality.

Jeff Tiedrich: welcome to the Republican nervous breakdown

https://substack.com/home/post/p-178141695

Quote

it’s Day Two of the GOP’s post-election hangover, and all your favorite perfectly normal Republicans are having perfectly normal reactions to the perfectly normal experience of having their electoral asses kicked.

let’s check in with Donny Convict’s favorite drag performer, the newly-pardoned Kitara Ravache George Santos.

oh dear.

https%3A%2F%2Fsubstack-post-media.s3.ama

“Fuck you @CurtisSliwa I HATE YOU, your dumb wife, that stupid Beret of yours and all your fucking cats!”

perfectly normal stuff, am I right?

this is one of those tweets where you see it and you go ‘nah, that can’t be real. someone photoshopped that’ — but no, it’s right there on Elon’s Nazi Bar, for all to see.

seriously, though — the cats? come on, hating on cats is over the line. and I must have missed something, because what did Sliwa’s wife do?

I just googled “Curtis Sliwa’s wife’ and it turns out he’s had four of them. I’ll bet Curtis is a joy to be married to.

apparently, Georgy Porgy Pudding and Pardoned isn’t the only Republican who’s pissed at Sliwa for not dropping out.

listen to foul-mouth David Rem, a failed NYC mayoral candidate who claims to be a childhood friend of Donny Convict.

David also seems nice.

“hey, Curtis — you’re a fucking scumbag like I said all along, all these months. you fucking got eight percent of the vote. you split the fucking vote for the seven fucking million dollars. you are a scumbag. I hope every New Yorker spits in your fucking face, every single day. you fucking sold out, like fucking Judas sold out fucking Jesus for the thirty fucking coins of silver. go fuck yourself.”

okay, I confess: I fucking love this David Rem guy. he has a way with words.

but let’s do a fact check on the math, because I’m sorry, but ‘Cuomo winning’ is not how any of this would have worked.

https%3A%2F%2Fsubstack-post-media.s3.ama

too bad, so sad, Republicans. if Curty Sli had dropped out and all his voters had gone for Cuomo, Toxic McSexpest would have still lost, 50.4% to 48.7%.

where’s the anger for Joseph Hernandez, whose 1,253 votes denied Cuomo the victory that God ordained was rightly his? way to turn NYC into a Marxist dystopian hellscape, you selfish prick. wait, how would David Rem have put it? you fucking fuck.

down in Georgia, Mike Collins is also have a perfectly normal one.

https%3A%2F%2Fsubstack-post-media.s3.ama

“Launch the nuke.”

where? at New York? sounds like overkill to me. does Mike not realize that Curtis Sliwa’s cats would be in the kill zone?

Mike’s previous solution to losing an election at least kept the carnage to a minimum.

https%3A%2F%2Fsubstack-post-media.s3.ama

Collins was so enraged about Donny Fuckwit having lost the 2020 election that he made a campaign ad in which he AR-15’d the shit out of a voting machine.

perfectly normal stuff.

let’s check in with area amnesiac Holy Mike Johnson and see what he’s forgotten about today.

“there were no surprises. what happened last night is blue states and blue cities voted blue. we all saw that coming. and no one should read too much into last night’s election results.”

PRAISE THE LORD, IT’S A MIRACLE! HOLY MIKE HAS BEEN HEALED!

https%3A%2F%2Fsubstack-post-media.s3.ama

look at that — Holy Mike actually remembers that there was an election on Tuesday.

seriously, didn’t you expect Mike’s answer to have been ‘election? I just got here, I haven’t heard about any election.’

but listen to the weak tea that’s dribbling out of Mike’s lips. ‘what’s all the ruckus? everything is fine. it was just Democrats voting for Democrats. no biggie. now let’s just focus on what’s important: making sure the Dead Pedo Bestie Files never see the light of day.’

that’s right, ‘everything is fine’ is the copium that the establishment GOP has decided to shoot straight into its veins.

https%3A%2F%2Fsubstack-post-media.s3.ama

here’s Texas Rep. Dan Crenshaw, toeing the new Republican line.

https%3A%2F%2Fsubstack-post-media.s3.ama

Hot take from last night: Despite the media narrative, there was no “victory” for democrats last night. They just won elections in the places they’d be expected to win elections. And to all the rich white liberals in NYC that don’t understand how their conservative parents made the money that pays for their SoHo apartment - you better pray your new mayor can’t implement even a fraction of the deeply stupid policies he favors. Good luck NYC.

oh really, Dan? it was just ‘Democrats voting for Democrats’?

then how do you explain what just happened in Mississippi?

https%3A%2F%2Fsubstack-post-media.s3.ama

I’m pretty sure it’s not even legal to be a Democrat in deeply-red Mississippi, yet the Dems flipped enough seats in the Missouri Senate to break the long-standing Republican supermajority there.

what about the Wichita, Kansas School Board?

NEW: Dems flip Wichita School Board from a 4-3 GOP majority to a 5-2 Democratic majority. Democratic candidates Amy Warren and Amy Jensen defeated Republican incumbents Hazel Stabler and Kathy Bond.

Kansas is another one of those states where Democrats are rare as hen’s teeth, yet the Dems won local elections all over the place.

look what happened in the Republican stronghold of Buck’s County PA.

Two of Tuesday’s school board elections were in Bucks County, Pa., which was considered “ground zero” for right-wing groups’ takeover of school boards in 2021. A few years ago, conservatives on these boards in Pennbridge and Central Bucks districts were using their roles to pass policies targeting LGBTQ+ students and banning books.

Democrats flipped control of both boards in 2023, and on Tuesday, they ousted every Republican from both of these boards, except for one. The Pennbridge school board is now 8-1, with Democratic members in control. The Central Bucks school board is 9-0.

and look what went down in Crenshaw’s own state of Texas.

We even won in Lockhart, which sits in a district so red that Democrats normally don’t even run. We had a clean sweep in Cy-Fair ISD, another deeply red area that not even Greg Abbott could save your party. In SD-9, another red district, we saw an 8 point shift for the Democrat.

Subscribe

Republicans, everything is not fine. open your eyes.

https%3A%2F%2Fsubstack-post-media.s3.ama

but sure, absolutely — keep it up, dumb-asses. keep pretending everything is fine. keep ostritching your heads right into the sand. keep ignoring the needs of We the People. keep kowtowing to Dear Leader and his oligarch pals. keep pissing on our heads and telling us it’s raining.

keep ignoring the lesson of Tuesday’s election.

see where it gets you.

oh, and please — pretty please  keep spewing tone-deaf shit like this.

“the economy and healthcare are two of the primary issues in the country clearly, and that’s why we are delighted to run on our record. we are addressing that. we are delivering for the people.”

this is where Republicans fail — because they can fart out all the fever-dream fairy tales they want about how the economy is awesome, and Dear Leader’s going to get everyone a pony, but voters who live in the real world know it’s all bullshit.

tell someone who just lost their SNAP befits about how Republicans ‘are delivering for the people.’ tell it to someone who just emptied their wallet buying a week’s worth of groceries. tell it to someone who just found out their healthcare premiums are tripling.

Republicans, please run on your record, because your record fucking sucks. if things keep going the way they’ve been going, next year’s elections are going to make what happened two days ago seem tame by comparison.
