I hope your drive up is great because your drive back will be filled with tears.

No, we never got that far north.  As it turns out, charging over a couple miles of open field into artillery fire wasn't a great plan.  But you know, YOLO!

My great great great grandfather and his brothers got called up in the Pennsylvania militia to help repel the traitors from crossing the border.

And then one of them joined up and ended up riding with Sherman through Georgia.

Lots of reasons to be bummed if Trump wins but I'm kind of ashamed to admit that I honestly think the biggest one is that the trials won't go forward.

I think that should be a campaign issue.  Walz should be out there talking about how much fun it would be to see the trials going forward and how we will all miss out if they don't.

I know people who view politics as entertainment and like Trump for the giggles.

Won't it be fun to see him daily in Federal Court. Imagine the high jinx!

Those blue arrows in SEPA are getting much bluer. He’s bleeding more support in the burbs and he’s already sucking wind there

The reason the western side of that map wasn’t more blue is because of this map.

And it’s why Trump is pushing the clip of Kamala saying she’ll ban fracking so hard in PA.

To the dumbfucks who buy a hundred dollars worth of Trump bucks, don't pay the mortgage on their single wide so they can order Trump sneakers, and eagerly await his next NFT where they make him look like Captain America?

Yes. Yes it is.

Of what? Steaks? Bibles? Stock in DJT?

THESE RUBES BUY ALL OF IT.

How many people told themselves that DJT was going to go through the roof? Moved it all over there. All the ridiculous doodads are cheap compared with buying into that scheme.

Virginia Beach. I'm actually in the process of moving as we speak, we just bought a house around the corner on the water, but my current neighborhood probably has a median house price of 750k these days I'd say? So no one is hanging an engine block from the tree in the front yard, no. But my neighbor on the right has MAGA paraphernalia out 24/7 since 2016, and there's a couple other big Trumpers. If I took a wild guess I'd say my hood was 60/40 R/D. It's pretty much upper middle land.

We do have a lot of military in the region, 7 bases in a 60 mile radius or so, but the oceanfront is not as much a hotbed of that. Shore Dr., where @locodos is from, and Red Mill which is south and inland a bit are the real military loci.

I'm pretty sure my dad has at least one engine block in his yard.  Shit I'm guessing he has two minimum.

We didn't have many military folks in our hood, just a few Nato officers.   But hey, when the ships are in that's a whole nother story.

Trump isn't anywhere near who he was in 2016. He's much richer now though, after lining his pockets for four years and profiting off his power. Being President is probably the only successful business he's ever had.

Yes. Literal goosebumps.

As a "Detroiter" (burbs), that little barb he threw definitely hurt some people in my generation. With few exceptions regardless of political affiliation, we rep Detroit and are very proud of it. It pissed me off - would have pissed me off if anyone said it - but at the same time it kinda delights me to think about the uncomfortable internal dilemma it's giving to dudes in Shelby Township (Macomb County R stronghold) with an old English D tatted on one forearm and 313 tatted on the other. Not going to change anyone's vote, but I guarantee you those dudes - and there are a lot of those dudes across the area - did not like that comment one bit.

Updated 183 report: on my drive from Austin to Port O’Connor there was a SHOCKING number of Harris/Walz signs/billboards in Victoria.  There were, of course, a lot of Trump signs.  But I would say in Victoria proper it was 4:1 Trump:Harris.  In 2020 the number was easily 10x if not 100x; hell, I don’t remember seeing a Biden sign in that town 4 years ago.  And the total number of Trump signs on that 150 mile stretch seems significantly lower than 4 years ago.  Another encouraging sign was the number of clusters of signs in Lockhart, Luling, and Gonzales that had all local Republican candidates, but NO Trump signs.  Only new cringe was a ranch outside Cuero that installed a flag pole near the highway with a 4’x6’ Trump flag.

Hot Tuna and CP Shuckers has become ground zero for the squids the past 20 years so there's been a lot of migration to those hoods. But that was kinda of a different observation, the Shore Dr corridor has just got really Trumpy from say Seashore to Lesner. Chicks Beach is probably 50/50, the Oceanfront probably 60/40 Dem.

I've been on the lookout for the Trump Train boat but he hasn't had it put lately, I did passthis yesterday though. He's had this 40 by 20 banner he puts on pontoons and puts at various locations around town.

He didn't need/want the teleprompter in the past. Apparently, he now needs it to remember the fascist hits.

Overall, guy looks like crap, lumbering, low energy. Kamala should be saying "Dude looks rough. Is he sick? Do you think this dude can make it 4 years." Challenge the bully and watch him slink away.
