The Nazi Germany metaphor was never more on target.   Doing nothing/looking the other way/not saying anything is great short-term self preservation advice.    Historically it is not so good to prevent bad things from happening on a nationwide level.

I fortunately have the self-employed “fuck you” alternative, but I can see how protecting your family through continued employment is one of the things many people will do and just shut up when things get worse.

I now work for a company so I will keep my head down.  I am looking into possibly accelerating my retirement so I can get the fuck out of this country if elections don't go in a positive direction or get squashed and don't happen or are interfered with.  Virginia's elections in a couple of months will probably be a precurser of what to expect in November of 2026.

With the news of all the people now being fired over Kirk it makes me wonder if we should post in these threads.

We're going to have 75% unemployment when the dotard finally kicks it in.

Bingo.  Notice how Gov Dude's troll machine has shut up already?

Somebody posted and mentioned that shithead and his gang will probably stop Social Security payments to ex-pats since he knows the people are leaving who hate him.  I assume it will be by executive order, Roberts will ok it in the shadow docket, and Senator Collins will have grave concerns about it.

I’m now thinking that living on the North California coast might be an option.   More expensive, but fantastic outdoors and a very blue part of the country.   if they stick the Louisiana National Guard in New Orleans, a large person of them will have political philosophies aligned with Tiger Droppings.    I would be better off in the woods with a tiny home.

Our thoughts align.  BTW, TigerDroppings banned me on Friday.  Woohoo!

I have wondered about SSI payments for expats.  For us it will be a fairly substantial amount each month.

As my beloved mother used to say. “He’s not sorry for what he did, he’s sorry he got caught”. There is no context in which his statement could be misinterpreted or misconstrued. He’s a sorry POS and if we were in any other time he would have have been fired in the spot.

There is literally nothing a MAGA can say to get them fired except something against trump.

And there's a deep drive to left by Castellanos...

Seriously.
I will now list all of the consequences that conservatives have faced for literally calling for the death/execution of homeless people, people they don’t agree with, immigrants at the border, and others:

…..

…..

…..

Yep, I think that about covers it.

Now, we could list the consequences actually imposed on non-conservatives for even daring to suggest that, while there is no supporting or excusing the violent act against him, Charlie Kirk was in fact not a good guy and is not worthy of the canonization he is getting from MAGA:

[insert 50 fucking pages of people getting fired, getting stacks of death threats, and the like]

It’s fucking insane. It’s Wilhoit’s law writ large.

Three hundred million.

Huh, that's some math there. But factual? Really now.

Worldwide, it's estimated at around 60 million deaths (2024)  overall of any cause (rounding down by around 2 million just to be generous) and the US alone was around 3 million. So given what we know about viewers of this network, 300 million deaths seems about right.

It's kinda like the logic that some shoppers use when they see something on sale that they don't really need but it's on sale and that resonates with *checks notes* viewers who think they've got a bargain for what they paid. What's a few innocent lives brutally cut short when we saved 300 million?

I am getting too cynical I think.

Another set of screenshots shared by Libs of TikTok documented Facebook posts from Jennifer Courtemanche, who teaches at Goose Creek Consolidated Independent School District in Baytown, Texas. In one post on Wednesday, Courtemanche highlighted how Utah’s Republican Gov. Spencer Cox had condemned the shooting before claiming, “I bet if the victim had been Black or Brown or a Democrat influencer, he’d have been singing a different tune.

It appears Libs of TikTok is policing the internet, doxxing and reporting those who are not sufficiently obsequious to the memory of Charlie Kirk.

Cancel culture.

But this is nothing. Universities are cracking down on speech to avoid being punished by the Federal Government for speech it doesn't like.
