Well Trump should know because he's the President and gets the real information that none of us gets. Dumb ass just making up shit as he goes merrily along.

• Annually release demographic data for hires as well as students who have applied or have been admitted, broken down by "race, color, grade point average, and performance on
standardized tests."

A university may not use race or color in an attempt to curate a diverse student body, even though a diverse student body results in a superior education, but the government can use race and color in its attempts to prevent a university from achieving a diverse student population.

Make it make sense.

It makes sense because they want to bring back segregation. They just want a pretext to remove black/brown people from our schools and jobs

Remember when conservatives talked like this ?

the last third he talks about the conservative mindset in crisis and in change - what he referenced as times of rupture and repair. This is the shit I can respect, heck even agree with about 80% of it. Today, we need men and women like him. Today, conservatives are no where to be found.

my heart is so heavy. I mourn for what we could have been and what we have become.

How many presidents sued any media before this?  For real, has it ever happened?

We always wondered how the first amendment and the fourth estate would be taken over, now we know.

I hope the NYT will stand up to him. Sigh.

I just had a dream that I had somehow ended up with all of his properties and was in a board meeting of how to update them or ultimately get rid of them. I was finding every reference in the architecture or otherwise on the grounds to that traitor and having it removed. And then I was going to sell them off and have the proceeds go to various charities and institutions that actually do good things. National Parks Foundation, Cancer Society, homeless shelters, etc.

And then I woke up. Back to your regularly scheduled nightmare we are all living in.

Yes, but WaPo subscribers probably aren’t enough to make a difference, and Bezos won’t give a fuck.  Everyone needs to cancel their Amazon accounts.

My wife mentioned this morning that she is seeing smaller amounts of beef being packaged for sale by our grocery store (not HEB).  As we are empty nesters this suits us just fine but a family of four would probably require two packages for a meal.

I’ve found this latest speech suppression taking advantage of Kirk’s death to be particularly chilling. I know it’s a continuation of what they had already been doing but their renewed fervor makes it more sinister. They’re attacking all the foundations of our democracy. I’ve had trouble containing my anger the last few days and am worried I’m going to go off on my gop Senate staffer neighbor. That wouldn’t be the worst thing cause fuck him and the work he’s a part of.

I wouldn't hold my breath for NYT. Between their storied history of toadying up to and downplaying the danger of fascism (insert 1924 Hilter headline), and trading away all their ethics for access ala Haberman, they have done the yeoman's work to get their messaging out and sanewash it to push the overton window ever further to the right.

I don't think it's intentional on their part, but they sure do find it happening over and over and over again

Soybeans, because that appears to be what we now have an over abundance of with China exiting our buyers market. They’ll all be soy boys.

I think it's absolutely intentional on their owner's part. He got freaked out my MeToo and the protests of 2020 and decided he'd rather cozy up to the fascists than have a workforce that felt like they could talk back to him.

I'm not holding my breath for any of them. we're lost here, everything is for profit, that's the problem.

So since the times has been fairly favorable to Trump compared to reality, this could be another lawsuit whose sole purpose is to launder a large amount of money given to Trump as a court settlement.  Nice paper you got there. Be a shame if something happened to it.

Eh, the profit motive isn't the problem.  There's plenty of money to be made as the voice of the resistance (hell, Fox would probably say it's even more lucrative than being part of the mainstream).

The problem is the Dems and aligned groups keep thinking this is on the far end of normal, but still normal.
