Mike Johnson and his caucus aren’t stupid, they are intentionally dishonest, about literally everything.

and that’s what (R) voters love about them, and why they keep voting for them.

(R) voters don’t vote for and support (R) elected officials in spite of the fact that the officials are totally dishonest pieces of shit, they vote for and support them because of it.

I thought you can't veto a unanimous minus 1 and a unanimous passed bill?

If he vetoes, they have to vote to override. But when the majority is veto proof they almost never veto … because of the implication.

Yeah it would be weird for Trump to do something unprecedented and totally batshit.

I had not realized that Mike had sold some of the GOP representatives who voted to release the files by telling them that the Senate would not pass that version of the bill, and would kick it back so they can delay and pass a bunch of amendments on the bill.

The reason he looks shaken is because he lied to a whole bunch of Republican house members about what would happen in the Senate.  Which makes you wonder what kind of communication he had with Thune - is Mike an idiot who didn’t bother to ask what was happening and/or assumed he could get the Senate to do his dirty work - or was he played by the Senate because everyone is tired of his incompetence as speaker of the house?

Mike Johnson's reaction would indicate they haven't finished anything and fully expected this to be kicked back to the House.

These aren't very smart people.

Yeah, Johnson (and Trump) have lost control of the House and I fully expect that Thune played Johnson like a fiddle.  Johnson not only looks incompetent, but weak. He was clearly shocked that the Senate just went and voted on it. Blaming Schumer was a weak move, because the GOP is in power.

And the bad news for the GOP, on top of the elections from earlier this month, is that no matter what Trump does or says, it's going to be his DOJ holding up the files, and there are MAGA who are obsessed with these files and they are not happy and will be even more pissed.

And Trump is going to be constantly asked about the files and he's going to constantly lose his temper, lose his train of thought, he's going to rail about Democrats, but people on the right are going to ask why so many files of criminal Democrats are blacked out or being withheld.

When Nick Fuentes is out there literally saying "MAGA is dead"....It's going to be amusing if it turns out that the Qanon/Pizzagaters end up being a part of the reason why MAGA fails.

Fascists always eat themselves. It's inevitable because of the endless purity tests and proving oneself to the furher and bending the knee gets old after awhile. Or you have power struggles that splinter the supposed united front.  Look at the nazis. The Republicans are in the bunker with Trump. Or they arent...

MTG and Boebert are on my card if I ever get dropped into a bar brawl backed by two house reps. (Sorry Dems, y'all just wanna talk.) With these two women I'm guaranteed a win-- Boebert goes Feral Corpse Rat droppin to all fours and biting chunks outta shins, shakin her head and growlin, givin my pansy ass the safe opportunity to throw some cheap-shot throat punches. As more come at us I just turtle up until I hear MTG go into hulk mode, then gtf outta the way as she crashes past. Maybe open a beer and watch, then clock anybody on the back of the head who tries to get up. Stay down, fool, stay down. Meanwhile halfway across the wrecked room Boebert's still got those rat incisors going like fava beans and a nice Chianti sa sa sa, and MTG in her red rage has got her mitts on two kegs putting those Orangutan back muscles to work. Victory is inevitable but the danger is not over-- until the red mist leaves their minds, they are likely to turn on friend or foe. Best to throw a box of donuts out in the parking lot and ring the dinner bell,

Yes but he’s a bible-thumping Trumpist republican from SOUTH LOUISIANA. So his victims are at furthest 3rd degree blood relatives
