Nah, no need for any mention of race, really.  That's just something to help wildcat make sense of the world.

It really is fascinating at the extreme reflex response of O&G republicans to say that their being a white male had nothing to do with their level of comfort in life and relative level of risk they had to assume to achieve it. It's the same vibe as why they react so extremely to Kendi and other authors who propose that everyone should take a piece of responsibility for making the world better

Race baiting definitely a better gig than O&G.  Kendi has it figured out.  And when you run out of things to be outraged at, even pandemics and adoption habits can sustain your ire.

don't kid yourself.  the distance between black vs white and rich vs poor is a very short distance.  i would even go so far as to say some factions use race as a red herring to keep white poors voting against their own self-interests.

Holy shit, it just clicked. fatty is THE living embodiment of Randolph Duke's "aggy dream". That lovable loon used to rant for pages about the typical A&M graduate's life trajectory.

Paraphrasing: "Completely unremarkable, mediocre, white male who's just smart enough to realize that O&G possesses the highest salary ceiling for unremarkable intellect and skills, moves to Midland or some Houston suburb, pops out some kids, gets a deer lease, and maybe even gets a boat in garage before sitting back in awe of all of his many accomplishments."

Not that there's anything wrong with any of that, but still really funny to me.

Would I strike you as more remarkable if my entire schtick was to bitch about capitalism and profits, and whilst crying about how unfair the entire healthcare system is because it fucked over my father?  Does that sound remarkable to you?

I don’t see that as a schtick… I see that a legit problem in the US that your father never should have faced. Capitalism isn’t all bad - unregulated capitalism is terrible.

My concern is how we either hide or broadcast politically charged information when it's convenient.

Then, there really isn't a difference, is there?

But,

How about that pistol you mentioned in your other example.  Also, btw, a "military" round.

This is literally the shit flung at me anytime someone gets shot and the board decides to care about the event.  Like the "mass shooting" in JAX that doesn't even meet the threshold of the definition.  Criticized for the scope of my concern.  So please, tell me more about the hypocrisy.

Of course it is.  Most aren't even bothered enough until unequivocally the other side committing the crime.  And it's never the persons fault, it's these goddamn policies and this goddamn war.  Or mental health.  Or pay inequality.  Can never just be an asshole committing a crime, well, until a certain couple of things align with the story.  If it weren't for the violence, there wouldn't be an issue with America's "gun culture".

Literally 15 posters of which that would bother me.  Couldn't find a fuck less to give otherwise.

Every single bolded word of this is LOL. There are Russians and jihadists that hate the US less than some of the D politicians.

Negged for willfull obtuseness and the absurd lie at the end.

I've addressed the main points you make. No need to do so again. You're killing the republic that you think Dems hate. Malign, argument-proof cultism is the cancer. The irony-deafness used to be funny.

Now you'll write words and consider them an argument. You don't understand argument.

As DeSantis approached the podium to speak, some people in the crowd began to boo; one person yelled out, "You're not welcome here." Later, someone shouted, "Your policies caused this," according to videos of the event. As governor, DeSantis has loosened the state's guns laws, and curbed efforts to teach Black history in public schools.

Gavin Newsom put forward a 28th amendment proposal, but there's been little follow up.

“Our ability to make a more perfect union is literally written into the Constitution,” said Governor Gavin Newsom. “So today, I’m proposing the 28th Amendment to the United States Constitution to do just that. The 28th Amendment will enshrine in the Constitution common sense gun safety measures that Democrats, Republicans, Independents, and gun owners overwhelmingly support – while leaving the 2nd Amendment unchanged and respecting America’s gun-owning tradition.”
The 28th Amendment will permanently enshrine four broadly supported gun safety principles into the U.S. Constitution:
Raising the federal minimum age to purchase a firearm from 18 to 21;
Mandating universal background checks to prevent truly dangerous people from purchasing a gun that could be used in a crime;
Instituting a reasonable waiting period for all gun purchases; and
Barring civilian purchase of assault weapons that serve no other purpose than to kill as many people as possible in a short amount of time – weapons of war our nation’s founders never foresaw.
Additionally, the 28th Amendment will affirm Congress, states, and local governments can enact additional common-sense gun safety regulations that save lives.

We dont need a waiting period. After passing a universal background check, people need to prove they can maintain and operate the weapons they purchase.

Also, they need to take personal responsibility for each weapon they own. And certain guns cannot change owners without a licensed retailer being involved.

At the end of the day, responsible people will do this no problem.

The first cousin of “everyone I disagree with is a Nazi, fascist, or racist”

You're getting confused in that most of the folks we're disagreeing with (and you're tacitly defending) ACTUALLY ARE nazis, fascists, and/or racists. Just simply disagreeing doesn't make you a member of that group - but goddamn if there haven't been an uprising of fucking insane racist people in the wake of the 2016 presidential vote.

The difference is that there is ACTUAL FACTUAL evidence of those people being nazis or racist or fascist. We can articulate and break down why

You're just saying "unga bunga AOC bad because socialist lib duhhrrr" and equivocating with some limp dick #bothsides shit when called on it.

Hmm, maybe this is old news but just caught on CNN that the Jacksonville shooter was under psychiatric care and was taking medication. If your laws allow people like that to buy/own firearms maybe you need to revisit said laws and, you know, maybe fucking change things up a bit.

You and your radical republicans do the exact same thing—blame everything on Dems or progressives to scare people. It’s the only thing radical republicans like yourself are good at—trying to scare. You have no policy positions.

Oh, and the racism. Y’all are excellent at that.

Huge gaping holes in the NICS system when it comes to this stuff in particular, but I don't think that most Americans would find some of the solutions to fix that system acceptable.

What individuals with mental illness specifically do you want to exclude?  Anyone seeing a psychiatrist or a therapist? People with specific diagnoses in their medical history? Individuals on particular medications. Give me the parameters and I will give you a solution. I think that we can all agree that the current MH data that are submitted to NICS (when they are actually submitted) are inadequate. How far do you want to go?

The real LOL here is this idea that we are going to build a MH database that covers 300MM+ people, pipe it into the FBI, and that Americans are going to find such a solution acceptable. It's technically feasible and could be built off the distributed data networks built under the FDA Sentinel program. The infrastructure and data are already there, primary barrier is some legislation required to re-identify the data.

NICS was designed to be nothing more than a figleaf anyways - it's literally illegal to digitize those records! It's designed to be nearly impossible to traverse that dataset at scale - for fear of privacy violations!

Well if we actually want to do anything, step 1 would be expanding the Supreme Court. Because the current Supreme Court will just say "hey, they didn't have that law on the books in 1791 so you can't do it now."

Hoover had such a hardon for MLK not because of the what he was doing to advance rights for blacks but rather because his speeches on poverty were gaining traction amongst poor whites. That would have been real trouble
