Well, here's the thing.  Marc Elias and the team democracy lawdogs are very good at this and on top of it.

Had there been provable election shenanigans, I fully believe we'd have heard it in the context of a lawsuit by now.

However, and here unfortunately is a sanctions defense for Sidney Powell and their ilk, but challenging an election may well require that you file suit before you have the necessary facts in-hand.

So, even as good as is Elias, there may not have been time to develop this before it was too late.  Or the facts don't exist.

On the other hand, Elias might be rhetorically boxed in by some of the arguments he had to make against the GOP's previous claims of election fraud. It's easy to imagine he would be fearful of being called out for hypocrisy and motivated not to pursue certain strategies. I have no doubt he and his team know what they're doing though.

If evidence of these types of things are uncovered once it is too late for legal action, investigative journalists at the times or post would vet and bring to light.

Correct, if an election was discovered to be stolen after the stealer took office really the best course of action would be a Watergate style investigation that pushes Congress (I know I know) from there.  It's hard to take this seriously (just like it was hard to take the last one seriously) when the stories only come from fringy places.  Mainstream journalism may be very diminished from what it was in the 70s but if any of this stuff had real teeth there would be some young Woodward and Bernstein on it at some mainstream publication.  Bezos doesn't own them all 😎

I agree with this. I approach claims from fringe outlets with skepticism, but I will say this guy so far doesn't give off Cyber Ninja or Mike Pillow vibes. I would prefer if he didn't sandwich his findings between news clips about bomb threats to polling places.

Elon talks about saving “human civilization” and not humans or the place we live. His is a grim dystopian techno-futurism where most of humanity dies off or ekes out an existence on a choking earth while a small “elite” serve as indentured servants to an even tinier techno-aristocracy off planet.  He’s not even subtle about believing this.

The off-planet bit will never really happen but everything he does is aimed at making the first part come true. He’s making it happen.  The dude is an absolute clown but also probably one of the three most important people alive right now.

Well, I wouldn't expect Elias to take/prosecute a case with as shitty evidence (I.e. none) as Trumpco did.  And, arguments regarding a lack of evidence are pretty routine and expected.  You wouldn't normally get called on the carpet for switching sides on that one.

Long-story short, I'm not sure these rumors have any credibility, or we would have seen something from Elias, or, if too-late-developing, from media.

It's not as rampant as the right wing, but there are still a goodly number of leftish conspiracy theory and rumor-mill sources.

The GOP's stategy has been to flood the zone with bullshit. I guess I have less faith in the democratic establishment to do anything more than bring piss to a shitfight.

They wouldn't do shit. Everyone knows it and just wants to pretend otherwise.

Could you imagine this shitstorm of a US Marshall executing someone for refusing to let musk ruin a government and congressionally mandated program/organization?

Like USIP, which is funded via legislation and got shut down by elons goons last week?

Yeah that would really kick off a shit storm. Judges will get mad at them and everything and then nothing is going to happen. And anyone who thinks that's a constitutional crisis gets labeled with "trump dErAnGeMeNt SyNdRoMe" by people who are oddly fixated on pedophiles.

This is letting the nerd bully you with his goons behind him. No one wants to get jumped by the goons, but as soon as that happens the nerd and his goons become instantly persona non grata. This is all posturing nonsense and relying on the "guardrails" is an obvious failing tactic that will likely lead to a much larger mess than if they just said fuck off and meant it.

I mean, they showed up with armed cops and threatened to arrest everyone. The judge specifically criticized DOGE for using force and bringing guns to unlawfully remove them. But nobody wants to get into a firefight with the fucking feds. Because they hold the monopoly on state sanctioned violence. And Elon gets to decide where and why they're deployed.

And if you'll recall back to the halcyon summer of 2020, trump LOVES to deploy unmarked, masked, and heavily armed cops to put down protests he doesn't like. What elon is doing is the kid gloves version of what historically is next to come

Yeah, no one got shot or jumped or physically abused violently. It is all posturing. I'm not blaming the people for backing down, I'm just saying the one time someone doesn't this moves into a totally different dimension.

It's all posturing until it isn't.

Exactly, when we move into that phase it will become obvious what people are willing to tolerate. There's a reason that nerds with enforcers don't take over schools, it's because the school class riots and makes the nerd a pariah along with the goons and forces the school to change or they just leave the school and it collapses.

This isn't some new human phenomenon, people like to ignore benign, but not "right" things, but as soon as it turns into something outside the realm of acceptable for really anyone it is game on for mass revolt/revolution.

South Florida man drives SUV into Tesla protesters, cops say
Deputies say he later told dealership workers he ‘stands with’ the company
PALM BEACH COUNTY, Fla. – A 44-year-old West Palm Beach man is facing a felony charge after sheriff’s deputies said he tried to purposely drive his SUV into a group protesting at a Tesla dealership over the weekend.

The planned protest was one of a slew across the U.S. at businesses associated with Tesla, the company led by Musk, in response to the billionaire’s work with the Trump administration in cutting federal funding and the workforce.

Attacks on property carrying the logo of Elon Musk’s electric car company are cropping up across the U.S. and overseas. Several more violent incidents include Cybertrucks being set on fire in Seattle and shots fired at a Tesla dealership in Oregon.

According to an arrest report from the Palm Beach Sheriff’s Office, the attempted attack happened Saturday afternoon outside of the Tesla dealership at 5544 Okeechobee Blvd., outside of the West Palm Beach city limits.

A PBSO deputy wrote that multiple witnesses and cellphone footage showed Andrew Dutil driving his Nissan SUV onto the curb and “almost striking multiple people.”

Deputies said protesters had to “jump out of the way” to avoid being run over. No one was hurt.

The report states that Dutil got out of the vehicle and then walked into the dealership. An employee told deputies that Dutil told workers there that he “stands with Tesla” and then “walked out.”

A statement Dutil made to deputies was redacted from the arrest report.

Deputies arrested Dutil on a charge of aggravated assault with a weapon.

Online records show he remained in the PBSO Main Detention Center as of Monday and was being held without bond.

Palm Beach County court records show the next hearing on the case is scheduled for April 21.

Before clicking the spoiler, take a moment and conjure a photo in your mind of what this guy's mugshot looks like.

Okay, got it? Here you go.

How about we draw the fucking line at BEFORE someone gets "shot or jumped or physically abused violently"?  Waiting until they become violent is how you encourage bullies.  Then it's too fucking late.

Two people to blame for the current status is Bush and Rove. They loved to spread the idea that many undocumented folks were voting. They weren't at Trump levels where Trump claims that 15m voted but they set the stage. To them it was a harmless lie to create a reaction from their side. "Give George W. $25 so he can protect the vote." They started the breeze blowing in a certain direction and ~10 years later, it turned into Hurricane Trump and now most of the GOP distrust the govt.

Except for the initial weeks post-9/11, Bush will go down in history as one of the worst Presidents in history. And honesty he has nowhere to go but up. Pretty much everyone on both sides the aisle think he's crap.
