The flaw in his reasoning is an assumption that religious members of MAGA retain any fidelity to their church. Their faith resides in the MAGA movement and anything that is a contradiction to MAGA is discarded. Catholic, Protestant and weird non-denominational offshoots don't matter, only the overarching cult matters.

The non-Southern Baptists don't necessarily care because they weren't lobbying hard for this and they aren't happy either way.

The Southern Baptists, the types that kicked Beth Moore to the curb, may not openly say it, but they don't care for the Catholics, and I'm not just mentioning the Catholic angle by the way, - I'm throwing in that the Muslims, Mormons, etc., are liable to get stuff put in the classrooms.

I've been asking this for the last 8 years, rinse and repeat. But if you and others want to joke about living in Iran and how shitty the USA is, wow.

The USA is a better place to live than Iran, and no one has stated otherwise.  However, if you can't see how Iran and Texas have more in common culturally than Texas does with European nations, or even most U.S. states,  I don't know what to tell you.  Death penalty infatuation, dominance of politics by religious fanatics, subjugating women, actively working to keep the citizenry poorly educated, etc.   There are more similarities than differences, thanks to a minority faction in both Texas and Iran who are still living in the Middle Ages and have managed to seize control of the populace.  Texas mostly has an edge because it's easier to leave (for now).

Do ya’ll raise your children or just leave it up to the school?

We talking about the same state that's banning books about race and LGBTQ issues, right?

Lol, no they aren't.  It's like you have this fantasy world concocted in your head and no idea what is happening in reality.

John Candy Reaction GIF We'll allow only one religion to proselytize in public schools, and there will be nothing anyone can do about it.  That's the American way of doing things.
