Trumps' campaign mgr wanted Trump to say: it's too early to call, they're still counting votes, we're proud of the campaign we ran. Did he even remotely understand his candidate. 6 months before the election Trump was saying that only fraud could prevent his win, and it was seriously debated whether he would accept a loss and leave the WH.

If Stepien actually spoke those words above to Trump, I bet Trump thought he (Stepien) was a fool.

I don't know if you've been here the last five or six years, but that fucking guy thinks anyone who isn't that fucking guy is a fool.

No need to get nuanced when gas is heading over $5/gal.

There's nothing nuanced about a segment of the population cheering for bad things to befall the country and, in some cases, exacerbating these bad things in order to get their jersey back in control.

Of course, not all those miscreants are Americans, are they?

Your answer makes you sound like a poor person who doesn’t know what the stock market does.

It amazes me the amount of people that don’t understand you can make money when the market is up, and when it’s on the way down.  It isn’t that hard folks.

Not sure why Stepien couldn't testify today.  My dad could have testified when i was born if you could have found him in the beer joint

If the video gives them the statement that they want for today's narrative, there isn't a reason to bring on the live testimony that might be said in a different manner or expanded.

It is nice for my overlords that their talking point can easily have interesting things like the down being down 14% in the past 6 months.  No need to get nuanced when gas is heading over $5/gal.

I anticipated all this and chose to be very wealthy. Sorry that you didn't do the same.

From the CNN summary of Barr's testimony that was shown today:

Quote

During their December 2020 Oval Office confrontation, Barr said that Trump gave him a report that claimed “absolute proof” the Dominion voting machines had been rigged. Barr said that the report “looked very amateurish to me,” and he “didn’t see any supporting information” for the fraud claims. “I was somewhat demoralized, because I thought, ‘Boy, if he really believes this stuff, he has lost contact with – he’s become detached from reality if he really believes this stuff.’”

Did Trump print out a tweet or 4chan post?

If we take Barr at his word, shouldn't an AG take action if they think the President has become detached from reality?

So this $250 million raised for the Election Defense Fund, do they have receipts on who sent money and how much?  I know there are about 50 million morons who will send him money, but $250m seems like quite a reach for that to be grassroots funded.  There had to be some substantial donations from companies, international people, etc that dumped money into this apparent slush fund.

You're way underestimating how important it is to be at the top of the list of donors that President Trump will personally review tomorrow! Especially when you've always been there by his side and you're one of his most loyal supporters!

Let's stop the socialist Democrat Party and the RINOs today!

You have to remember that they steal money by auto-enabling the recurring payment button and hiding it, so lots of those poor people ended up paying several times more money than they wanted to.

Yep.

Seriously, if you wrote up a generic list of "the hallmarks of a scam" -- in a totally neutral way, as a genuine tool to warn people about getting caught up in any number of scams -- every single fucking element would match up to the Trump Inc. action plan.  Every single fucking element.  It's fucking amazing.  It rings every single bell of "naked scam/grift!", yet people salivate for more.  We are the dumbest fucking species.  Even fish figure out artificial lures after a while and won't bite 'em anymore.

You could sit every one of these rubes down, tell them that Trump stole their money, explain that he did not use their contributions for the purposes he solicited the funds for, and was simply milking their dumb ass for easy money. And they would not fucking care. Team Trump is all that matters. And then Trump could email them all the next week asking for money to investigate voter fraud, and they will gladly give again. He's knows he can lie to these dumb fucks, he's been doing it for 6 years now with zero pushback. They want to be lied to as long as the lies reinforce what they want to hear. He's a confidence man and he's got a good con going.

Trump has that down.  He has 70 million of them.  He is literally the greatest con-man who ever lived.

So, instead of making drive-by posts and trying to be clever, why don't you explain to us why the 1/6 riot and related shenanigans by what appears to be your orange God are not worthy of public discussion?

Because your kind are always whinging elsewhere about no "honest debate" in CR, yet almost none of you come in for anything other than a snarky drive by.

Also, it probably bears mentioning that the 1/6 committee is nine people.  There are 426 other Representatives and 100 Senators, about 260 of whom are from your team.  What, exactly, are they doing about the "Down" and the price of gas? Hmmm?

I'll answer for you.

Shitposting on twitter.

They’re more than willing to pay for the “experience”, the “euphoria ” that comes from being told their racial grievance and anxiety are justified.

Ok, so suppose that's true and the vast majority of that money came from actual donors believing in the cause and not some lobbyist/corps/foreigners looking for favors, 250 million is an astonishing amount of money to raise in a few months right AFTER an election.

You would think if he had people willing to give that much to him, they would have done it during the election cycle to help him win, unless of course much of it was for other purposes. I don't believe that was legit small donors in droves, I would imagine a lot of corrupt money is laundered through there, but it also speaks to Trump's value to the GOP. They can't quit him because he's raising unprecedented amounts of money for them, they just have to go along with his crazy whims and close their eyes when getting handouts.

From the Hill article on Trumps "response":

Quote

One section of Trump’s statement focuses on ballot trafficking claims, for which he cites the Dinesh D’Souza documentary “2000 Mules.” In testimony shown earlier Monday, former Attorney General William Barr laughed at the mention of the film, saying he was “unimpressed with it” and dismissed the idea that it proved widespread fraud.

Quote

“As we near the midterm elections, we’re watching the Swamp creatures circle the drain as true Americans step up to replace the corrupt Establishment with patriots who will fight for our freedoms,” Trump says in Monday’s 12-page statement.

Quote

The Establishment is holding on as tightly as they can to their power as they watch it slip from their grasp. Our country is in a nosedive,” he continues. “Americans are struggling to fill their gas tanks, feed their babies, educate their children, hire employees, order supplies, protect our border from invasion, and a host of other tragedies that are 100% caused by Democrats who obtained power through a rigged election, and the people of our country are both angry and sad.”

He knows his audience. He understands the Big Lie. He plays his only real card: open rebellion against reality and, ultimately, the republic they believe they're saving.

Ohhhh, how I miss the days when more people could discern irony.

It's amusing and terrifying that Trump relies on "evidence" generated 18 months after the fact, to justify his claims that the election was rigged.  And his supporters eat it up.  Like that fucking moron knows something they don't, or that actual smart people don't.

What is he, The Amazing Trumpkin?  A bald allegation without evidence remains a lie, even if something later proves it to be partially true.

Comes with an asterisk though. He couldn't maintain his hold to such an extent without complicit, self-serving media personalities and politicians on the right.

The rubes didn't give him $250MM right after the election. That was dirty Russian money laundered through dotard's PAC.
