An unvaccinated white guy smugly taking credit for vaccination rates amongst whites while blaming the current state of the pandemic on unvaccinated blacks sure is something.

Texags poster for some reason trying to come up with evidence that he shouldn’t get the vaccine, soon to be mandated by his employer. https://texags.com/forums/84/topics/3221411

He received a reply from Rex racer who is unvaccinated and recovering from covid pneumonia.  Rex told him that he should just get the vaccine to lower the chance of getting seriously ill. Good to see that not only does Rex realize his mistake, he doesn’t mind communicating his mistake. Good on him.

also the OP on that thread is a general POS.  He actually wrote, “ why should I risk it (vaccination) to protect others.”

She -- but it doesn't really matter.

There are a few posters making sense in that thread. But the 'muh rights' and 'they took r jobs' crowd always make an appearance at TA.

23K deaths in 20 years in afghanistan vs. 34k deaths in 2 weeks in florida.

Florida once again recorded more coronavirus deaths than ever in a single week. The state logged 1,727 fatalities among residents over the past seven days, a comparison of Florida Health Department reports published Friday and Aug. 20 shows.

Isn't it 2,368 KIA for the US (including the latest losses)?

Original poster was overstated by an order of magnitude on both numbers. Point was there were 2368 American lives lost in Afghanistan in 20 years and 3400 lives lost from Covid in Florida in the last two weeks.

https://floridapolitics.com/archives/453561-floridas-most-recent-covid-19-death-toll-continues-climbing-to-new-historic-worsts/

Over past 3 weeks, COVID-19 might be Florida's leading cause of death.

The number of people dying of COVID-19 in Florida continued to get worse in the past seven days, as the state set another record Friday with a weekly report tallying 1,727 new deaths acknowledged since last Friday.

With that report, Florida has averaged reporting more than 200 new COVID-19 deaths per day over a three-week stretch of August — the worst period of mortality seen in the Sunshine State’s entire 18-month coronavirus pandemic.

4200 deaths in 3 weeks

2800 deaths in the last 2 weeks.

The tweets and facts are true but my post was wrong. I tried to go back but I didn't have a chance because of Papa issues, a squirmy 3 year old in my lap watching Paw Patrol.

"23K deaths in 20 years in afghanistan vs. 34k deaths in 2 weeks in florida."

It should have read.

"2300 deaths in 20 years in afghanistan vs. 2800 deaths in 2 weeks in florida."

Nice catch, Incred.

The mere fact that they are the ones dying, and not the Fox News hosts who got vaccinated to stay alive to pump their anti-vax propaganda, means the GOP Elite is keeping the grift out of the hands of the radio everyman.

It just shows that they are too stupid to see through the con. It’s the same with the low level conservative media outlets.

They aren’t able to preach the con from on high without being questioned. They have to live the con. They are middle men of stupidity.

You got the delta variant? Because if not, you haven't had the virus you think you had.

New Data shows previous infection to the alpha variant confers immunity to delta much stronger than the Pfizer vaccine. Very large study just released out of Israel. +30k patients. So I'm better off than the people at least vaccinated with the Pfizer vaccine.

That's not nearly as the mixty emotions I got from reading this one below. Apparently the local ISD is encouraging mask usage but not going the route of the ISDs that have been ignoring the mask mandate ban. That led to some general grumbling about masks, etc and then this:

Mask.png.24b4a87495afa0d09229a6bd8a32f940.png

Sooooo, would you rather it be an English teacher? No? Okay. Just so we're clear, though, health class is no longer to be taught to students? And science covers a lot of ground, from living organisms to astronomy. What again should not be covered in science class, just so we're all clear here. Can a teacher instruct on the body's reaction with immune cells once a virus invades the lungs and the acute reaction that leads to a slow suffocating death?

Your "New Data" (is that a song by The Damned?) was poorly analyzed.  Actual results for vaccinated Israelis, almost all jabbed with Pfizer:

The study he linked is being pretty widely reported as providing good evidence that natural immunity is broader and longer lasting then vax immunity.

I've seen contrary studies, but regardless, my point is that the conclusions being reported on the Israel data have widely been flawed.  I'll focus on peer-reviewed and well-vetted analysis.

That particular study is from 2015 and has nothing to do with covid, by the way.

And? So,why don’t you go inject yourself with Covid then and get that good natural immunity high. Otherwise who the fuck cares?

Study from a few years back that shows that “leaky” vaccines (ones that don’t stop the spread) can actually create an environment for more lethal variants:

Lovely.

Second sentence in the article.

Vaccines that keep hosts alive but still allow transmission could thus allow very virulent strains to circulate in a population

I have Good News/Bad News for you. Covid already does this with an asymptomatic period and not killing the infected for several weeks. It's why there is no selection pressure driving it to become more mild. The vaccine is unlikely to produce any response you wouldn't already see naturally.

Having a shitload of infected people causes the same problem. Delta and Gamma both evolved in populations with zero vaccinated people and many previously infected ones.

What do you think is a bigger public health threat: 60% unvaxed of 12% of the total US population or 50% of 60% of the total US population? Even a coach should be able to get that one

Well, our president said a month ago and I quote, "You're not going to get Covid if you have these vaccinations."

https://www.cnn.com/2021/07/22/politics/fact-check-biden-cnn-town-hall-july/index.html

covid-19 isn't the virus, it's the set of symptoms associated with the virus.  kinda like how hiv and aids are different things.  you largely don't get covid-19 if you have the vax, even if you get sars-cov-2.

Ya know. The internet would actually be a good thing if we didn’t have to let the dumbass trump supporters and the anti vaxxers on it.

I mean you have to pass a driving test to get a license. You can’t drive around like an idiot and still pass the test and get a license. Why not one for the net as well?

19-year-old Navarro College student dies from COVID-19

Quote

FAIRFIELD, Texas - A young woman from Freestone County who was about to start a new semester at Navarro College died just weeks after contracting COVID-19.

Breanna Gray's family says she was a healthy 19-year-old before the diagnosis. Nobody in the family was vaccinated when they all caught COVID. It's a choice they now regret.

Breanna was in the hospital for less than two weeks. One morning, she declined. And in a matter of hours, she was gone.

Tabitha Gray’s final time talking to her daughter, Breanna, was over the phone trying to calm her down.

"You just hear her screaming through the mask for me, and that was the last time," Tabitha said. "And the last voice I heard is her yelling for me in her mask."

Tabitha says Breanna was terrified. Doctors just told her she had to go on a ventilator.

"For me not being there to help my baby or be there is the worst feeling in the entire world," Tabitha said.

The 19-year-old sent photos from her hospital bed hoping she would survive.

vlcsnap-2021-08-30-21h21m51s240.png?ve=1

"No underlying health conditions whatsoever," Tabitha said. "Nothing. Healthy."

Breanna was set to start this year’s classes at Navarro College this month. Her dream was to own a salon. Instead, COVID-19 took over her household.

Breanna tested positive July 31, and she was in the hospital a week later. She died on Aug. 19.

"We never thought it would happen," Tabitha said. "I never thought my baby would go before me."

Tabitha and her husband also tested positive. Nobody in the family at the time was vaccinated. It’s a decision she says she regrets.

I feel like It’s my fault," Tabitha said. "I should’ve forced it."

According to the DFW Hospital Council Monday, an estimated 95% of all COVID-19 patients in North Texas are unvaccinated.

"I shouldn’t have let other people in my head or life get to me," Tabitha said. "I should’ve done what I needed to do to protect my family."

The Gray family’s home is now filled with flowers from Breanna’s funeral over the weekend. But to Tabitha, it’s empty.

"Our house is so quiet now," she said. "It’s not a game. COVID is not a game."

The entire Gray family now all has appointments for their second shot scheduled in September.
