Just finished reading The Handmaid's Tale so this hits close to home.

Also started watching the show on Hulu. Serena Joy in the show is MUCH HOTTER than what I pictured her when reading the book.

Have you thanked the administration yet for the thrill of getting to live life on the edge while performing previously mundane tasks?

The official plan is out and its much less dramatic than this.  Some human rights and security assistance offices got closed or consolidated. All the regionals remain in place and as yet, no cuts to overseas operations.  All of the undersecretaries are supposed to identify up to fifteen percent of fat to trim, which is a number they will likely get to by not backfilling and early retirement.

No crazy updates to hire diplomats based on “demonstrated charisma and diplomatic appearance.” We will see if more of that comes.  The stuff circulated this weekend was a Peter Marocco fever dream and likely won’t happen as Rubio fired him while he was at a meeting and turned off his badge access.

Source below is not an endorsement of the outlet but an acknowledgment that it is now the “insider” press.

AF is back. I saw the proposed org chart.

All of the regionals survived, and Canada was not stripped out and given to its own tiny office. They didn’t kill all of public diplomacy as reported.  Most of the truly insane stuff that was floated didn’t happen. Pete Marocco flew too close to the sun and Rubio was pissed at the mess he has to clean up because of how they did USAID.

All assistance programs will get run through regionals reporting to the political affairs undersecretary (Toria Nuland’s old job, holla!) showing that America is gonna make that shit super political. And the human rights reporting will focus on a bunch of bullshit.

Only MAGA would obligate themselves to the financial cost of a kid in exchange for $5k.

As I said, $5K wouldn't even cover the expenses to give birth. Not even close.

Much less raise a child. You couldn't even just give birth and give up the kid for adoption right away and collect the money and come out ahead...unless you just had the baby in your bathtub or something.

Yeah, I just saw the new org chart. One area I am interested is where some of the growth development projects are going to land.

And I also heard some medical assistance projects could move to CDC. Which is funny. That was recommended a long time ago since there has to be CDC involvement either way. Just move a few COR's and Loggies there.

Ah shit…who wants to go in on my “MAGA Birth Tub” service??  For just 4k, we will rent you an old bathroom painted red white and blue with some Trump towels, and a Trump prayer candle for your baby’s birth! (Delivery charges apply)

Yeah, I don’t think this crew is big on growth and development.  They seem to think only quick humanitarian relief is worth doing.

Heard a snip from President Huff & Puff q&a today - egg prices are down 93 or 94%. So if eggs were $5.00/dz, they would now be $0.35 or $0.70 for $10/dz. Anyone here seeing eggs for less than $1 dozen.

Okay move along, nothing new just 1 more thing that is said by our fearless leader that has no truth to it or facts that it is based upon.

"Which per capita?  There are many per capitas."

Here's the actual quote:

TRUMP: “When you say per capita, there’s many per capitas. It’s like per capita relative to what? But you can look at just about any category and we’re really at the top”

With some Maga nimrod in the near future, I plan to assert that Donald Trump is the dumbest person in the history of American public life. When they say no way, I'll challenge them to name 1 dumber person. Whoever they want, politician, athlete, actor, absolutely anyone. Once they've named their one dumber person, I'll ask that they take a few days and find the objectively dumbest things their person has said, actual quotes only, and I'll collect the same for Trump. It's a fucking slam dunk I'll win that shit. I'll be sure to include the per capita quote above.

And if anyone corrects him, or even knows that he's wrong, they're part of the intellectual elite.

Only the stupid should be put in positions of power, because you can't trust the smart, see?

This country is fucking doomed.  I can't even be mad about it anymore.  It deserves to fall.  I just want to make it out and watch the clusterfuck from somewhere else.

Comments like these are great. Even the morons know it’s not true. Every little irrefutable lie helps chip away at their blind obedience. It also allows us easy opportunities to make fun of him when we’re around the morons, and they’re forced to take it without response

nope, not in the least - it doesn't even register to those in the cult, and if confronted they will either ignore the question or say it was a rhetorical or indicative directionally but not to be taken literally. They wouldn't believe he is a follower of Satan, even if Lucifer himself was to introduce Trump one of his ongoing cult rally's.

I did this just this morning for my wife.

She's going out of the country in early May on a girls trip.   I took an old iPhone to ATT, got a new number and the international plan for a month, created her a new Apple ID just for this single phone, installed no social media apps, only put on the esssential contacts and only the apps necessary for the trip.   She's paranoid about having to hand over her phone when she re-enters the country, so I set up a phone she can just hand over and never look back.

She'll have a dozen apps loaded before she gets back.

I've always been prepared to do that.  I do not enable any biometrics.  I will not give my passcode, as doing so would allow access to my email and other portals through which I have client communications and materials.  If they say "if you don't allow us access, we'll just seize your phone," I'll say "cool, have it."  Because 1) I can go buy a new one for $1k, 2) unless they have REALLY good reason to access my phone (and they really won't), it's not worth the cost and time to try to break into it, and 3) I'll send a nice piece of correspondence to CBP and the DOJ before the day is out informing them that they seized a device that has attorney-client privileged material on it, and as the know, that requires them to take certain steps to insure that any access they obtain does not intrude on the privilege.

And then I'll go buy a new phone.

@Brisketexan I fucked up and can't directly reply to your post.  If I send a single email to a lawyer I know, can I make the same "attorney-client" claim?

Considering that you can have him on retainer for a 6 pack of Lone Star and some beef jerky, of course.

If it’s an actual A/C communication, then you can claim that the device has privileged communications with your attorney.

For search warrants directed to attorneys or their offices, USDOJ had (past tense may be key here) a policy that required review and approval of the warrant at Main Justice including a plan for segregating without unnecessary review of privileged matter from an attorney's files, property and devices.  And those reviewing for privilege had to be "chinese walled" from the prosecution or investigation team, so that even snippets of privileged information couldn't be used by the prosecution team ("I saw an email to Gotti  . . . .").

You may recall this was a big to-do when Giuliani's and Cohen's cell phones were seized.

But by letting them know you're a lawyer, or if not a lawyer, that your devices contain attorney-client communications, you should be able to make life harder on them.  Should doing a lot of heavy lifting here.

That’s not how cults work. It’s not chipping away at anything other than their grip on reality.

And without blinking they would ascribe the same behavior to democratic voters regarding Obama, Biden, et al. It’s truly just team sports to them.
